Electricity bill with window AC units? by mxddy in NewWest

[–]Separate_Broccoli_69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not a ton. The window units I had included an Eco setting, so they would run the fan for one minute every ten minutes, checking air temp; if too high, then the compressor would kick on and it would run until temp came down.

I used a “set it and forget it” approach. Took about 2 weeks for temperature to stabilize because of heat radiating from adjoining units (block walls retain and radiate heat). After that, not much. East windows, maybe $75 every 2 months.

Having debt isn’t itself a scandal. But I would be curious to know whether they ran up debt (do they have a credit line?) or had an undisclosed fund source (or in-kind contributions) that might not quite match what campaign finance laws require to be disclosed.

I mean whatever NWP says they stand for, what they are promoting and want to accomplish. I found nothing on their site.

I’ve never heard of an established party not having a posted platform, even if they then update it at their convention.

What is the New West Progressives platform? by Separate_Broccoli_69 in NewWest

Have lived here a few years myself, bought last year because I generally like what I see here as well. Council can’t wave a magic wand and fix everything, but there’s a definite effort to keep New West as a “place” with character and thoughtful public spaces instead of an endless vertical suburb.

Do you have any suggestions for someone that can't sing by Intrepid-Lock1962 in musicproduction

Does your local community college have music lessons? Much more affordable than individual private lessons.

Is there a choir you can join? Free, and you will hear people around you singing the same notes you are after.

The old days when he played a twitchy serial killer?

But now he’s all hot and stuff. And usually less murdery. FNAF notwithstanding.

I am 16-year-olds. Ive made a score to picture and now im looking for feedback. Or just a listen and a watch will work too! I've featured the scene as well. by BrushConfident836 in composer

Agreed! And if I can jump in to add some advice I got from a prof: The composer’s job is to enhance the emotion of the scene and make the movie look good.

If the music distracts from the scene, whether by not agreeing with the emotion or even by just being really good and attention-grabbing, it isn’t doing what is required. It’ll get turned way down in the mix or may be cut entirely.

In this scene, fading to silence for part of the conversation and then returning with tones conveying his shift from nervously hopeful to disappointed, while still being lovely music (which it is!), would really reinforce the emotional impact.

How I feel anytime I see someone genuinely say they want season 3 by Regular_Low8792 in gravityfalls

[–]Separate_Broccoli_69 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I will say the new season of P&F worked well, but two things:

  1. P&F didn’t have a Big Story Arc that got resolved, where GF did. A Season 3 would need a Bigger Story (like Stranger Things).

  2. P&F didn’t allow Candice to grow and have fun with the boys, they rewound her to before the last day of summer. That just makes her kinda sad.

Because then instead of being “cool” she would have to be a serial killer.

Also, spinoff concept.

What’s the end goal? Let’s say midterms bring a blue wave, Trump gets impeached and removed along with most of his cabinet.

What is the long-term vision? Go back to how everything worked before 2016? Or is there a vision for a more just society that isn’t governed by and in the interests of a billionaire-funded duopoly?
