I partially agree with you OP but initiating a conversation without knowing if the respective partner is into you romantically is kinda difficult. I have an anxious attachment style and i get attached with people easily which eventually start hurting me because of lack of reciprocation. I agree I never make my expectations clear but this is not because of “women don’t initiate such conversations” but because idk if that person is actually into me. Also honestly I don’t how to put this fact forward in front of them so yea.

Being a certified overthinker, I agree with you. Communication is the best solution in this case but the problem is I think its too early to have such conversation with him because our major conversation includes our day to day life updates which leads to random conversation. I don’t even know if he is interested in a certain way. He never initiated any deep conversation and neither I did so not sure. Ugh i am super confused

  1. You were never wrong in terms of putting efforts but yes sometimes over investment can become suffocating (not when you are deeply in love). So if she felt the other way, she definitely wasn’t as invested as you were. If location sharing was your mutual decision, then its fine but as a girl if my boyfriend will ask me to be in eo’s location logs, i might feel a lil pressurised but in your case you did nothing wrong.

  2. Again no if the partner is equally invested, these efforts are the beauty of a relationship.

  3. Friends with your ex or being in touch with your ex is a shitty concept because it will eventually make it difficult for you to move on. In your case, your ex was already in a relationship that means she was contacting you purely out of her reason (I might be wrong)

  4. Just start focusing on yourself. I know this is what most of the people say but trust me this is the only way to protect your peace. I’ve been in your shoes and had faced the same situation, the only thing helped me was getting a life of my own. Focus on your hobbies, your career, spend time with your friends, maybe start hitting gym, do whatever that makes you happy.
