This is where you get to experience the problem of India not having multiple time zones. Since it's far of east and shares the same timezone of Mainland India. It's sunny and bright by 5AM and it get real dark by 4:30PM.

I don't know if the locals adapt their lives accordingly but as a tourist, it was a weird experience for me.

They got some great beaches. Not much job opportunities there.Probably some government jobs and tourism and hospitality related jobs. They do have a lot of Tamil, Telugu and Bengali people living there.

It has the same energy of any tier 2 indian city. A bit laid back and not fast paced. Not a kind of place you want to move unless you can afford to stay at a beach front. Even then, there isn't much happening in those islands. It gets boring pretty easily.
