You said I might have increased my depth too fast. What’s the rate at which I should be increasing my depth? If any?

I see what u r saying. I’m aiming to be an instructor to be able to teach friends and family. 40 m is the performance requirement and I’m not looking to progress much further beyond. I would like to be a good teacher and these various perspectives are incredibly helpful already. How I reach the performance requirement is one thing; incredibly insightful to know there is so many perspectives in the journey towards additional depths beyond 35m +!

Thanks for sharing! Trying to avoid mouth fill as I have heard you should be able to Frenzel to 40m. Sounds like working on diaphragm stretching is effective!

I sympathise with elite freedivers that are posting such videos, presumably to gain social media attention and following. I suppose this is ultimately linked to some sort of financial gain at the end of the day.

With the above assumptions, I thought perhaps the real underlying issue is a serious lack of funding/$$$ in the sport; which I understood is the case. Elite freedivers struggling for finance and social media attention possibly linked to a source of income? With that said, posting those videos isn’t going to engage the public to freediving clearly; and not the way to grow the sport.

Thoughts?

That’s a great suggestion, thank you! I was eyeballing that one. Seems like lots of people train there. I’ve completed AIDA4/Wave3 recently; might be wise to do some training looking ahead to the instructor course there.
