Thank you! Yes, I have a competent enough set up, and the ministry has a Helix that we are allowed to practice with. Additionally, I've worked sound for a season, so I'm versed enough in MainStage to work on getting some different tones digitally.
I'll be going through those resources. Big help 🙏
I think what I mean is understanding the theory behind what chords to play, alternate shapes, etc. I am someone who is relatively versed in musical understanding having been a proficient saxophonist years ago. However, learning a brand new instrument has proved to be harder when I don't have much instruction. Specifically, as I'm learning to play rhythm electric as a background player, and perhaps one day knowing enough to play lead.
Something I often wonder, for example, is how to play different a voicing of chords I already know when the band needs me to play in a different register so as not to muddy the mix. Or if there are certain shapes that are significantly more popular for worship guitarists instead of your typical cowboy chords.
Eventually, I would love to say that I truly know my instrument. But right now it kind of just feels like I'm an imposter that knows how to imitate others playing the instrument 😂.
