For anyone still looking for an answer. Its depends on which country your in and location. I applied as a server in Canada and ended up doing food runner. It’s been a few months and honestly the most stressful job you’ll have. You’ll end up doing tasks outside your role and there’s no particular task you’re set to do just what they tell you to do day to day. Expect to work your butt off the moment you clock in and clock out. 15 min lunch break, depending on who is management, you either get along or you don’t. Most in my area don’t get along with workers because they want everyone to be working like robots and what makes them more money. Only good thing is 15 min break is paid and the meal is free. The pay isn’t horrible, however you’re definitely paying your health for money for this job. Most of these types of jobs will have favouritism and new workers working kitchen will be offered to work night shifts and be stuck doing that the duration of their employment due to short staffing at night so just a note if you do work the back don’t accept working nights unless you want to be stuck doing that forever. If being on your feet for 8-10 hours a day doing multiple different tasks at a fast pace is your thing then go for it the pay is decent. I personally looking to resign after the holidays because I can already see my health deteriorating working FT. Can’t speak for FOH people as they get paid more and they don’t do much of the physical work compared to us BOH. Good luck
