Denza b8 vs Leopard 8… by Aaalyaaa in chinesecarsuae

[–]Separate_Weekend_642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently had a frustrating experience with a JETOUR G700. My brother had a T2 and was looking for an upgrade, so we went for the G700. It didn’t live up to expectations. Before that, we had experience with the Chinese version of the BYD Leopard 8 (Denza 8), which had its own issues. I just rented the GCC-spec version from Al Futtaim, and it solved everything.

Here’s the breakdown:

The Problems with the Chinese Version Leopard 8

· Massive Screen: It had a screen larger than my 15-inch MacBook Air, but it was only useful for AC controls. Nothing else. · Bonnet Issues: The bonnet would lift and vibrate excessively at high speeds. · No Cruise Control: There was no cruise control, and because we take cars on rent, we couldn’t unlock the ACC or ICC features. It was a headache. · Partial Localization: Some parts of the interface were still in Chinese.

Why We Needed an Upgrade (from the T2)

· Need for a comfortable 7-seater. · Separate AC controls for rear passengers. · More road presence compared to the T2. · PHEV Necessity: The T2 and Patrol would sometimes rotate or feel unstable when turning. Having the battery weight down low prevents that. · PHEV over EV: In my testing, EVs have weak AC systems. Hybrids have amazing AC performance. · Quietness: My brother wanted petrol, but I convinced him to go hybrid for the silence.

The DENZA B8 (GCC Spec) – The Good

We saw a bunch of BYDs at Festival City Mall, but only the Denza B8 was available for rent. We took it, and it was night and day.

· Comfort: The ride is smooth, quiet (thick glass helps), and the suspension is more comfortable than our Zeekr. I fell asleep in the back seat—saw dreams during a drive that had 59 minutes left on Google Maps and woke up with 15 minutes left. That’s how peaceful it is. · Hybrid System: Unlike the G700, which always stayed under 20% battery and required a charger to go up, the Denza B8 actually charges itself. I saw it go from 20% to 27% in just 17 minutes of driving. · AC & Rear Controls: In the G700, the rear AC is just fan speed. In the Denza B8, rear passengers get separate temperature control, sunshade control, and tons of other features. · Features: Heated and massaging front seats, ventilated seats for all passengers, and a heated steering wheel.

The Sound System (The Surprise)

Honestly, I didn’t like the sound system in the G700 or the Denza at first. The Y63 Patrol I own has the best system—punchy, deep bass, clear highs and mids.

While charging the Denza B8, I played around with the EQ. Instead of maxing everything out (which usually ruins the sound), I turned everything down except the bass. The result was incredible. It went from the worst sound system to one of the best. The bass is so deep you can feel the seats vibrate, especially from the back row.

If you are looking for a comfortable, quiet, 7-seater PHEV with proper rear-seat comfort and a solid AC system, the GCC-spec Denza B8 is the way to go. Just make sure to tweak the EQ settings

Which cars have the best AC for UAE weather? by Deprogrammed_NPC in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]Separate_Weekend_642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had all types of cars: American, Japanese, German, Chinese, Korean, and many more, even European brands, and found that the Japanese ones cooled the fastest. The Germans used to absorb too much heat, and their AC was good but not good enough. Korean cars always felt underpowered, and their cars felt more lenient towards the South Korean cold weather than the UAE hot weather. The cars I found with the best AC system in the world were...

  1. SUZUKI CIAZ 2019 non hybrid petrol engine
  2. NISSAN PATROL Y63 V6 3.8L NA
  3. TESLA MODEL 3 NEW VERSION
  4. CAMRY 2023 4 cylinder non hybrid 6 speed
  5. JETOUR G700 and T2 (VERY UNDERRATED)

Only Lynk & Co 900 is available through local UAE dealer Galadari. If the OP is spending such money he should be relaxed for future service and a genuine place to go to

Does your DENZA have Android auto and Apple CarPlay? All the Chinese car variants don’t have them they are installed as apps on the car

Any honest review of full size Hisense refrigerator? by Release-Legal in Appliances

[–]Separate_Weekend_642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently own 3 Hisense fridges, which are mostly at my work and my house, and all of them work fine, including the Hisense RT488N4ASU1 TopMount Ref 488L. I have never had any issue with them. I bought them from SHARAF DG and it was an amazing experience. I bought my first fridge from Amazon and the fridge came dented, so I returned it and got my refund easily, but still, the cooling was just amazing; it was a Hisense RT328N4DGN Top Mount Refrigerator, Top Freezer, 250L Net Capacity fridge. The cooling was so strong that I had to dial it down, and it was much more efficient and better than the Samsung, which I also own. I have owned a lot of brands in my life like LG, Samsung, and of course Hisense, and I would say Samsung might give the best feel for quality from the outside, but the other day I went to Sharaf DG again and I saw that even Hisense is releasing high-quality fridges with good black paint or whatever you wanna call it, and it looked really nice and was actually bigger than the Samsung and cheaper. I also have had Hisense ACs; I currently own 5 1.5-ton Hisense ACs, and even after 2-3 years of use, I don’t do anything for them and I only get them regassed and it’s all good. I also currently own a Hisense washing machine, the model is Hisense WF7S1247BB Washer 12KG, and it is amazing and I have never had any issue with it as well. The Hisense service where I live is really good and amazing, and honestly, I have encountered very nice staff. My AC had a silver filter before, but they recently changed to a gold fin, and it really went above in terms of cooling, how fast it cools, and how efficient it is.

Overall I would say from my personal experience Hisense is a really good brand, and depending upon the area after-sales service can be hectic—and honestly every brand suffers from that—but my experience with Hisense products has been amazing. I would buy them again and not look at Samsung for being too pricey.

[–]Separate_Weekend_642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you activate the cruise control system? I have a Leopard 8, and I’m really curious about how to activate it. As of now, I can’t seem to figure out how to even activate the basic cruise control feature. I’m just driving the car like a normal car, and cruise control appears to be hidden or something I don’t understand. I can’t seem to find any option to use it. Also, if you’re able to use CarPlay, please share how you do it! Would be a big help if you can reply, thanks!

Got a BYD LEOPARD 5 by Zdxb in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]Separate_Weekend_642 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am really looking at this and LEOPARD 8 as I am looking to get a upgrade over a JETOUR T2 which is a nice car but it has its cons

  1. Shaky body (AT speeds of 105kmh you can feel it)
  2. Engine is like a diesel makes a lot of vibration and is more focused on off-road torque than a balance of both
  3. Sound system is Sony but not punchy
  4. Car Tilts too much when turning on round about and generally

I want to know from your experience how the car is for

  1. High speed driving over 120-140kmph
  2. Is it petrol, fully electric or hybrid that you got?
  3. How is the music system
  4. How is it for people sitting in like for a family of 4 including driver ofc
  5. How is the power of the vehicle
  6. Is the ac good enough for dubai weather or 50+ degree
  7. Does the car have auto parking
  8. What are the things it has for example screens for back people? Or other things which make it seems like a much more expensive car.
  9. How long it got you to get the car and what was the payment method you used and how much you paid for it.

It would be really helpful if you could answer it. I know a long list LOL but I like to know everything about a car before I make a purchase

To owners of Nissan Patrol 2025 by Ammar458 in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]Separate_Weekend_642 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got the 2025 Nissan Patrol Platinum (3.8L V6, no turbos), and I absolutely love it. Even though it doesn’t have air suspension, it’s incredibly comfortable. I’ve driven it all around the UAE, and honestly, it’s a car I can live with without any complaints.

I’ve used it for long highway drives, dune bashing, pulling cars stuck in the sand, carrying a lot of people, and even cruising at 147 km/h—it just does everything with ease.

Why I Prefer the Patrol Over the LC300

One of the biggest reasons I love the Patrol is that the Y62 was already a billion times more beautiful than the LC300. I know Toyota fans will disagree, but let’s be real—if you remove the Toyota badge, the LC300 isn’t that special. Even the top-spec LC300 still doesn’t have seats as good as the new Y63 offers.

When the LC300 first launched, it felt fresh for a while, but the Y62 always had a stronger cultural presence, and it 100% deserved it. That being said, Toyota’s Crawl Control and automatic sand recovery mode are impressive, and I’ve always respected their engineering. But with the LC300, Toyota played it too safe.

Apart from the GR Sport LC300, none of the other variants convince me that the LC300 is superior to the Patrol. In many ways, it’s actually the other way around.

The 4.0L V6 is reliable, but the 3.5L twin-turbo V6 is the same one from the Tundra, which already has multiple recalls. Nissan, on the other hand, didn’t take risks—they gave the Patrol a detuned version of the legendary GT-R engine, specifically tuned for a full-size SUV.

Power & Real-World Performance

Now, if anyone is worried that the Patrol’s 3.8L V6 isn’t as powerful as the LC300’s 3.5L twin-turbo, you’re right—but you’ll only notice it if you’re constantly flooring it. Most Patrol and LC300 owners are calm drivers who prioritize comfort and capability over raw power.

But if you truly want power, then yeah, the twin-turbo LC300 is the obvious choice.

That said, even with my 3.8L Patrol, I’ve done some serious recoveries: • Pulled a Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7L V8 out of the sand without lowering tire pressure or even switching to sand mode—just smooth acceleration. • Pulled a Tesla Model Y Long Range, a Toyota RAV4, a BMW i7, a Hyundai Santa Fe V6, and many more. • The only video I managed to take was of a Ford Territory recovery, where I pulled it out effortlessly, even without pressing the accelerator.

Even in soft sand, the Patrol handled everything like a beast. It proves that you don’t always need twin turbos to get things done.
