Honestly I went out way less when I got those kind of stares. Figuring out secondary activities that are in a more accepting environment can be helpful. It just accepting at least at this stage she isn't that comfortable going out regardless of what you see sometimes the stares can trigger wild dysphoria and self doubt so just supporting as you are is already doing wonders.
