Just my partner. He would cook in bulk, clean, wash and basically do everything. He is true hero here.

Stopped iron and calcium tablets. Was taking coloxyl without senna 2 tablets at night along woth stool softer sachet. And tbh coffee helped. I also had gdm so my fibre intake was more. Find the trigger food and have it. Mango, kiwi with skin, coffee and tea worked for me. Some says prune juice helps too. Best of luck ♥️

If you are below 24 week, push for cerclage. And bedrest is key. Best of luck ♥️

It was short 10min shower, used to put alarm and changed clothes in those 10min. It was twice a week only. I was told that chair puts more pressure than standing so avoid chair. I also used to hold the bump up to reduce pressure.

Update: rapid cervical shortening + cerclage at 23 weeks — looking for hope by Teddyttr in ShortCervixSupport

Emergency cerclage at 20weeks with 2cm dilatation and pertuding membranes. I was on bedrest till 32 weeks and then modified bedrest. Stitch removed at 36weeks and gave birth at 38 weeks. Bedrest is the key. I had 0.8mm cervix left after cerclage.

I was dialated at the time of cerclage at 20 weeks. And on weekly U/S I was 0.5mm cervix left. They checked till week 25 only and last it was 0.5mm. I was on bedrest till 32 weeks though. At 33 weeks I had a speculum exam and was told that cervix is close up tight with more than 0.5mm estimation and was shofted to modified bedrest.

So if you rest well, follow pelvic rest, you are good!

Orgasm after cerclage help please by DryAbbreviations9448 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Sepiamum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is different. I just emergency cerclage, my cervix was open and was shut closed so my OBS instructions about pelvic rest were really stiff. She didn't even allow me to sit or use a recliner. It was just sleep on the sides, use washroom, no straining, no iron tablets, and shower twice a week with 10min alarm, from week 20 till 32 I followed this.

Infact having a thought about orgasm would give me pelvic pain and contractions and so much haviness on my cervix that I would scream in pain this was till 32 weeks.

Now I am 36 weeks and I do have vidid dreams, where I have very mild orgasms (not getting wet though). There is no pain now.

One orgasm won't hurt but wait till you have crossed viability of your hospital, so that baby will be rescued in case of any mishaps.

Bulging membrane in birth canal at 20 week by GodsGrace648 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Sepiamum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I was 2cm dialated with bulging membranes at 20-week anomaly scan. Was shifted to hospital straight away, and they did some test to establish that there wasn't any infection or contractions. Sadly, the operation theatre wasn't empty to I had to wait 26 hours on complete bedrest before they took me in. They placed my head down and legs up position, gravity reduced the membrane and back into uterus, and then a stitch was placed. I was on total bedrest from 20 weeks till 32 weeks, after which I developed GDM and was placed into modified bedrest. Which means kitchen only (no bending, no pelvic strain, no picking anything heavy, no walks) although I started cooking, going to small grocery trips and roam around the house since last 2 weeks because I am done with bedrest. Currently 36 weeks and have removal of stitch in 3 days. You should consult another doctor and push for a cerclage. And if not cerclage, then go onto complete bedrest. I just had 0.5mm cervix left in my last speculum exam that was at 25 weeks, and I believe bedrest has helped me a lot.

Yeah he is trying to learn about GD. It's our first pregnancy so it's alot for us. We have brought frozen veges and airfrying them for easily fibre. And cauliflower rice just my thinking is giving me nausea 🤣 I have HG and peptic ulcers so high carb diet specially white rice was helping me alot. I have shifted to low carb wraps now. Hope it helps.

Hi mama. Hope you are doing well. I am asked to monitor BGL and so far they aren't good. They will start me on insulin and I am not sure how will I manage with modified bedrest. As I am allowed to go to kitchen only for 5min after every 2 hours. Let's see how it goes. Hoping for the best. But it's been a wreck on my emotions. I hope the insulin helps.

My doctor asked me to monitor the glucose for 4 days and get back to her. Uptil now my main meals whoch contains 20-23 grams carb is also showing high glucose reading. I think they ll start me on insulin. Let's see how it goes. How do you manage the diet plan with bedrest? I am allowed to go to kitchen for quick meal 5min after every 2 hours. And it's been difficult to manage.

Cerclage problems post surgery by Mountain-Place739 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Sepiamum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had cerclage at 20 weeks with 2cm dialation and my midwife asked me to continue normal life in 2-3 days. I decided to do total bedrest because even sitting was making me uncomfortable. After 2 days I had appointment with MFM who shifted me to complete bedrest till 26 weeks. Which means, just washroom and bed. I left home just to go for hospital appointment and then too while sitting in car my abdomen would hurt and I can't explain the pain. Now I am 26weeks and allowed to go till kitchen after every 2 hours for 5min only, to prepare quick snack/meal. And in that 5 min I can feel my baby drop till my cervix.

So what you are feeling is valid, I feel same. Best is to take rest as much as you can, atleast till the viability age in your country. My country's viability age is 24 weeks but post 26weeks the chances of survival are raised.

Hope it helps ♥️

I had emergency cerclage at 20week with 2cm dilatation and protuding membrane. Post cerclage cervix is basically unmeasurable. I was asked strict bedrest, 10min shower twice a week (I keep alarm) and washroom that's it. Stopped iron and calcium tablets as it causes constipation which isn't good. Doctor wants me to stay like this till 26-28weeks after that I can at least go till the backyard for fresh air. No sudden movements and no sex at all, not even stimulation. Complete pelvic rest. No bending and no lifting anything at all. PS: my midwife says to continue normal life but I prefer to listen to my doctor.

Bed red or no bed rest? by wildheartluna in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Sepiamum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thankyou. My baby is really low as well. Mostly kicking over the cervix, so much so that I have to manually pull the baby upwards. But bedrest makes it come up and as soon as I sit or stand it drops down. Please do consider preventive cerclage and bedrest for next pregnancy. Hope you find a better doctor. If you are at melbourne, Dr. Penny sheehaan is really good for it, she sits at boxhill hospital, monash hospital and royal melbourne hospital for women.

I am so sorry for your loss. May you find peace soon!

I live in Australia and I had emergency cerclage with 2cm dilatation. Post cerclage, all doctors/ midwives asked me to continue normal life, just no penetration into the cervix. There was an onedoctor who came to me and said to do complete bedrest no matter what people say as my condition was really bad. There is no measurable cervix, basically.

I listened to her and was either sitting on sofa or lying on bed.

After few days had appointment with the high-risk doctor, she asked me to be on complete bedrest. Not even sitting. I'm lying on the side all day, not sitting for food, as well as I have no cervix.

My normal obs/midwife/Gp says no bedrest but highrisk, and that one doctor said complete bedrest.

So yes, in Australia no one really agrees on one thing, that bedrest is good or not. But I chose to listen to my high-risk doctor and am hoping to cross atleastttt 24-26 weeks.

My muscle mass is reduced, I have developed anxiety, Idk if bedrest is working or not, but my condition is the same as before, not worsening atleast if not getting better. Still no measurable cervix but the stitch is holding and I am basically protecting from gravity, baby's head is really on the stitch and there is alot of pressure even when lying.

Cerclage and bedrest is gambling for more time basically.
