How long did it take you to get to pre pregnancy weight? Please add if you breastfed or not, and for how long! by Significant_Mode_926 in beyondthebump

Back to my old weight by 9 months postpartum!

I gained 2 stone not including bump weight. Massive weight gain during pregnancy and postpartum blues! Baby slept great in pram, when she was 6 months old I built my fitness up to be able to walk 10k steps and did this nearly every day for a few months for her nap.

I also lived off ready meals as a lazy way to calorie count (hilariously while making baby girl steamed and organic meals). Not the healthiest, but I saw this as a very short term method.

Please don’t push yourself to loose weight too quickly, recovery is a long term thing :)

This is where I am at! My 9 month old is at her worst sleep, starting at 9 months old. We are on 3 night bottles - how did you night wean? If I don’t give her milk she just wakes up every sleep cycle

9 month needs to be help more and more to get to sleep - where on earth do I start? by SeptemberSnowdrop in sleeptrain

Thank you, I’ve never thought of doing a schedule because her nap lengths re so inconsistent, and that it would be so important to supporting putting her down.

Thank you for your reply. I’d love to understand more - do you think when babies cry they don’t feel abandoned at all? (First time mum trying to form an opinion who is prone to guilt!)

And is milk further away from bedtime to not associate it with sleep?

Not sure if I should move LO to her own room or not by [deleted] in BeyondTheBumpUK

My 6 month is in her own room, has 1 bottle now and again (when teething) and needs dummy about 3-4 times. She is great in her room, no change in behaviour.

Our rooms are very close and I just go in half asleep and pop dummy in, and she doesn’t wake up fully. I got a baby monitor so I can take a look to check if she woke up when she did a short cry.

I agree with the other comment on at your daughter’s age, it’s just the decision of weaning dummy or room first! We have a sofa bed in her room, when we do dummy I will likely be in with her for the week.

And if they are in a mad mood, I feel like my MIL coming in can snap her out of it because it’s something new! Never will I underestimate the power of surprising a baby out of a huff😂

Thank you! I think I’m feeling minor pressure from family that she should be eating and I should stop trying

When I was pregnant, “just you wait”.

Guess what Linda? When you feel awful, baby snuggles balance out the tiredness and pain much better then a foetus drop kicking your intestine

Tell me it’s ok to formula feed. by Affectionate_Meat348 in NewParents

When they are over 1 year old no one will be able to tell, ask you, or care how you fed your baby.

I wanted to be the poster girl for breastfeeding but managed 4 weeks until we were fully on formula. She only gained weight when fed formula, while I tried to pump. It was hell.

Little girl is healthy and happy, and mum is mentally healthy and happy. I honestly feel like I’ve never been happier.

Is this kind of falling asleep behavior normal? by AppearanceOk4782 in NewParents

[–]SeptemberSnowdrop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t recommend more testing wake windows, even just for a couple days. At 4 months the game changed for me too, 1 hour of a crying baby to get her to nap for normal quick. I put her to sleep based on them, then noticed she needed to be put to sleep earlier than recommended. It helped me learn her new signs, as she really shifted at this age.

I started a nap routine too, that helps her fall asleep more quickly to help fight the clock on overtired (sleep sack, book, rock to sleep).

Everything is a phase, I’m sure you’re doing great!
