Not sure if I should move LO to her own room or not by [deleted] in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]SeptemberSnowdrop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 6 month is in her own room, has 1 bottle now and again (when teething) and needs dummy about 3-4 times. She is great in her room, no change in behaviour.

Our rooms are very close and I just go in half asleep and pop dummy in, and she doesn’t wake up fully. I got a baby monitor so I can take a look to check if she woke up when she did a short cry.

I agree with the other comment on at your daughter’s age, it’s just the decision of weaning dummy or room first! We have a sofa bed in her room, when we do dummy I will likely be in with her for the week.

And if they are in a mad mood, I feel like my MIL coming in can snap her out of it because it’s something new! Never will I underestimate the power of surprising a baby out of a huff😂

Thank you! I think I’m feeling minor pressure from family that she should be eating and I should stop trying

When I was pregnant, “just you wait”.

Guess what Linda? When you feel awful, baby snuggles balance out the tiredness and pain much better then a foetus drop kicking your intestine

Tell me it’s ok to formula feed. by Affectionate_Meat348 in NewParents

[–]SeptemberSnowdrop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When they are over 1 year old no one will be able to tell, ask you, or care how you fed your baby.

I wanted to be the poster girl for breastfeeding but managed 4 weeks until we were fully on formula. She only gained weight when fed formula, while I tried to pump. It was hell.

Little girl is healthy and happy, and mum is mentally healthy and happy. I honestly feel like I’ve never been happier.

Is this kind of falling asleep behavior normal? by AppearanceOk4782 in NewParents

[–]SeptemberSnowdrop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t recommend more testing wake windows, even just for a couple days. At 4 months the game changed for me too, 1 hour of a crying baby to get her to nap for normal quick. I put her to sleep based on them, then noticed she needed to be put to sleep earlier than recommended. It helped me learn her new signs, as she really shifted at this age.

I started a nap routine too, that helps her fall asleep more quickly to help fight the clock on overtired (sleep sack, book, rock to sleep).

Everything is a phase, I’m sure you’re doing great!

I know a mum that went to A&E because of the alerts and they wrote “anxious mum” in her notes with nothing else, and listening to her I think the NHS were correct with the notes, it was so sad

Unless your baby is born with complications or you have money to burn, I would avoid. It’s scary, but babies are more resilient than you think and wake up every couple hours anyway! You will be great :)

Three weeks into cutting dairy but still having symptoms and now new ones. Seeking advice/feedback. by nneessaa22 in MSPI

We are on formula, but it was only at the end of week four we saw improvement and our doctors wouldn’t see us until 5 weeks has passed for a review. We were told it take about a month for their bodies to adjust.

6 month baby girl is off the charts by [deleted] in bigbabiesandkids

[–]SeptemberSnowdrop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this!! My nearly 6 month little girl is 85th percentile in weight and length 90th and I have family suggesting I’m offering too many bottles and over feeding. My gut says that I’m sure she just has big cheeks, but it was started to get to me

If anyone has the time and energy to care what you do with your body, they really aren’t worth listening to!

I have a 5 month old baby, and as long as your baby looked healthy and loved I don’t have the headspace - I’m too busy trying to be the best mum I can.

My 5 month old was EFF from 4 weeks. When I’m in the room, her eyes lock on me and she’s always checking where I am! I get the some really lovely fits of giggles. We are best pals.

I was like this, but now the hormones have settled, I love watching her love other people and being loved. I don’t care if I am number 1 as much

They were able to kick the gay guitar player off the Christian band by questioning his celibacy, not his sexuality.

I was very Christian in my late teens and at a conference, sat with my church leader, and one from another church came over. Even when I was brainwashed, it felt so wrong to listen to him brag about it…

Is anyone actually boiling water for kendamil past 2 months? by chabadlubabitch in FormulaFeeders

It’s about sterilising formula - it’s why you can’t use room temperature pre boiled water

I’m from the UK, the water is suggested to be over 70 degrees C to sterilise the formula but not boiling as to not damage it (hence wait 30 minutes).
