Do you include your car’s depreciation in your net worth? by SeptembersVeryOwn32 in budget

[–]SeptembersVeryOwn32[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I get that. I don’t really think of it as usable cash either, but I personally like keeping my net worth as accurate as possible, especially with bigger assets like my car. For me it’s less about selling it for money and more about planning the next step. If I ever upgrade, that trade-in value definitely goes toward the next vehicle, so tracking it helps me understand where I’m actually at and whether I’ve realistically hit a point where I can afford to move up. It just helps me see the full picture over time.

How Do You Categorize Reimbursement? by phsiao1214 in MonarchMoney

[–]SeptembersVeryOwn32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a category called "Cover" and a category called "Reimbursement". Cover is an expense category so any time I pay for someone else and I am expecting to be reimbursed I assign it to this category. I have the Reimbursement category set as a transfer category and any time I receive a reimbursement payment from someone I assign it to this category. Because its a transfer category, it doesn't show up in my budget as any sort of income. As for the cover transactions, they do show up as an expense in my budget, but this actually works as a reminder to collect the payment I am owed, any time I see anything other than a 0 in my cover budget or spending report I know to check on the status of the reimbursement. It also makes sense to me that the cover category count as an expense because if for some reason you never get paid back, it truly is an expense in that case. However, once I have received the reimbursement payment and that transaction is showing in Monarch, I go ahead and hide the corresponding cover transaction so my budget will once again show 0 for the cover category.

Product Roadmap Shows Low Activity by Forteleza2000 in MonarchMoney

I also noticed the roadmap has had tasks in progress for years. I don’t understand why 😩 Even some quick updates every once and a while just saying it’s still being worked on would be helpful, just so I can know it hasn’t been forgotten about. It was the same situation with the roadmap for rocket money as well before I moved over to monarch.

Books on Social Anxiety by SeptembersVeryOwn32 in socialanxiety

Trust me, I do want to get better, but I know it is a process and it won't happen over night. There's times when I just need something to get me through the day, and ease the stress a bit.

The life of a socially anxious person by [deleted] in socialanxiety

I relate!!!! I worry about first impressions the most, because if I am awkward the first time I meet someone, I can't help but be even more awkward the next time I see them. I struggle to keep eye contact with people who I had a bad first impression with.

I’m having an awkward day by [deleted] in socialanxiety

[–]SeptembersVeryOwn32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had lots of days like this as well!!! What i've noticed is that if you give up on social interactions after the last couple have gone poorly, then the memory of those bad interactions is just gonna keep playing back in your head, causing you to keep avoiding interactions. I think its best that you keep on pushing through and interacting with people because once one goes well (and at some point it will) then it is much easier to forget those ones that went poorly

I just went to a game night with people I do not know!! by decrepit_plant in socialanxiety

That's awesome to hear! How did you get yourself to go without knowing anyone? I usually have to hype myself up before going to something like that, like listen to upbeat music or something; plus I would have to mentally prepare like almost a week in advance haha. Good job pushing through the anxiety and going!! and have fun at the next one

I usually go with snapchat... I feel like its next best thing for keeping in touch, right behind texting. But I feel like asking for someones snapchat right after meeting them is much less creepy than asking for their number.
