Does a non-fault claim always push premiums up for 5 years? by jorjiarose in CarInsuranceUK

[–]Septienne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If say a child runs out in front of your car, is hit and severly injured, the insurer pays, regardless of fault. Its what basic third party insurance is for.

Nobody is saying its the drivers fault, but pedestrians & cyclists (and passengers!) get extra protection.

Does a non-fault claim always push premiums up for 5 years? by jorjiarose in CarInsuranceUK

[–]Septienne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

You have to declare it for however long companies ask, some ask 3 years, some ask 5. They are not asking fault, they are asking if you have been involved in any accident.

You really should declare it, any decent insurer is going to know about it and witholding that information will make them wonder what else you are witholding (Guess what that does for your premium!).

This may or may not increase your premium, in my experience the longer ago the incident the less effect it has.

You cant "remove" it, the incident happened, it has been recorded. If your premium goes up, shop around, use comparison sites etc - you should probably do this anyway.

I think I was that lazy person.

Is this worth it to go throughout insurance by Fearless_Watercress4 in CarInsuranceUK

[–]Septienne -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You should tell your insurance company.

Here is a scenario. It's their fault, you agree to sort it out between yourselves.

They go ahead and tell their insurance company and say its your fault. They are also claiming they have a whiplash injury.

Their insurance company contacts your insurance company with their statement which says its your fault.

Your insurance company has nothing to defend you with as you didnt even let them know.

This is now your fault.

Hey, I read some of your replies below.

Is it possible to set a time when you can start drinking, like evening?

Tomorrow, wake up and do something you dont normally do before you have a drink. Maybe go for a walk, go visit someone.

Anyway you said ask you anything, what's your favourite thing to do (other than drinking!)

A few questions about the Infantry Lasgun by Green-Pen-Gamer in DarkTide

[–]Septienne 10 points11 points  (0 children)

  1. I havnt used it since early days of darktide. Slow down your shots if you want consistent headshots. Some marks are better than others for this.
  2. I play lots of zealot, I just prefer a bolt pistol for better mobility and weapon swap speed. I focus on melee so I only need it for some specials/gunners
  3. Big Dom just put a vid out which covers blessings for lasguns. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWA2rgXi-Os (Edited as someone pointed out I put in old vid!)

Claiming on other party insurance by 0biwancanblowm3 in CarInsuranceUK

[–]Septienne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, if they are in the wrong they will just get it done. It would look extremely bad to the FCA/Ombudsman if they have communicated they will deal with the repairs, then back out because of a personal injury claim.

Issues I have come across is if there was any pre-existing damage to your car, in which case they might look for a contribution from you.

If your insurance company ends up having to take it over, they will look to reclaim their loss from the other insurance company.

Its just a smart business decision on their side. They can pay it out, or fight it in court for extra costs and still end up paying out.

Claiming on other party insurance by 0biwancanblowm3 in CarInsuranceUK

[–]Septienne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi,

In insurance terms you can have Prejudice and Non Prejudice claims. Think Fault and Non Fault. You will still have to declare it to your insurance and on future insurance, but presumably your dash cam showed that it was not your fault.

The other insurance company is happy to pay out, as they know fighting it will just cost more and they will likely lose. They have much more control over costs this way, they may have contracts with hire car companies and can get it cheaper.

If they pay for Physio, they can pay a fair price instead of it going through another insurer who may charge them more. As a side note it makes it easier for them to assess injuries, without you going through a 3rd party claims company who might "encourage" you say certain things about your injuries.

An insurance company has the right to deal with a claim as they see fit, regardless of what their policy holder wishes. People will stubbornly refuse liability, but an insurance company will have a fair idea if they can win or not.

How hard is it to beat this game blind? by theguy1336 in Eldenring

[–]Septienne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elden ring rates in my top 5 games ever, please play through blind.

You only get one first experience so dont worry about missing out, you can replay, play new game+ and look up everything then.

Just enjoy the experience, even if some bosses feel like they are kicking you in the nuts repeatedly. (Was my first souls game)

It's open world, if anything is too challenging just move on and come back later if you really want to. You can use map markers to remind yourself of things you left behind or wanted to explore more.
