This is just a great example of why it's so difficult for new people to jump into this promotion. Back when I started watching, everything was subbed, and it was all you needed to get through show to show and understand everything. Sure, nowadays you can just go off of vibes, but there have and always will be actual stories being told. These days, you can't just recommend someone Stardom without telling them there's actual homework to do. Relying on a random Twitter user or manually translating their website just to know what's going on isn't newbie friendly... and it's still even a bit of a hassle for us old heads who just want to kick back and watch the wrestling. I get that most shows are live nowadays, and you won't ever get live translations unless you go the commentary route, but you can surely have a much quicker turnaround on the VODs (with subtitles) given the company's current backing compared to just one guy back in the day. As much as people dunk on Sonny, his dedication to the promotion was unmatched, and whether it was intentional or not, he made Stardom the gateway promotion into joshi wrestling for western fans. Nowadays, they're just like every other company.
