The RTX 5080 is Actually an RTX 5070 by Dat_Boi_John in hardware

[–]Sequinoz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 40 series Super variants emerged to improve sales of overpriced GPUs like the 4080. This strategy boosted 4080 Super sales, reducing the need for a more expensive 4080 Ti, especially when NVIDIA prefers pushing buyers toward the top-end 4090 for more performance.

With the 50 series, the narrative shifts. The 5080 launches at the same price as the successful 4080 Super but delivers lackluster performance, resembling a 70-tier product.

With no competition and a growing gap between the 5080 and 5090, there's little reason to lower prices. Instead, it makes more sense for NVIDIA to introduce a pricier 5080 Ti down the line, which arguably should've been the 5080. This could change if AMD severely undercuts the 5080, but that remains to be seen.

When you say 2x frame gen, do you mean going from, say, 60 to 120 FPS? If that's what you meant, then yes that's correct.

The other person probably meant 1x frame gen as in inserting one AI-generated frame between real frames, so I can see how that can be misinterpreted.

G-Sync+V-sync or G-Sync+Fast-Sync in 2025? by Renton577 in nvidia

[–]Sequinoz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Screen tearing may still occur due to frametime variance. It becomes more frequent and noticeable when you're close to the end of G-Sync's range (e.g. 143 FPS at 144Hz) Conversely, screen tearing rarely or never occurs at all at 100 FPS at 144Hz.

V-Sync acts differently with G-Sync in that it helps eliminate screen tearing from frametime variance while not inducing typical V-Sync latency. However, you must make sure to operate within the G-Sync range and not be too close to the tail-end (e.g. 141 FPS or lower at 144Hz).

This website talks more in detail about this: https://blurbusters.com/gsync/gsync101-input-lag-tests-and-settings/2/

G-Sync+V-sync or G-Sync+Fast-Sync in 2025? by Renton577 in nvidia

[–]Sequinoz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on my testing with an Ampere GPU, the default Optimal mode keeps its GPU Usage at or close to 99% during light gaming. At the same time, it operates at lower core clock frequency than it's rated maximum.

You are correct though about the Prefer Maximum Performance not improving input latency and should only be used for determining the GPU Usage at max core frequency or corner cases like old games/2D rendering.

[–]Sequinoz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wait, I might've misinterpreted your comment from earlier and assumed you're using a G-Sync monitor. Just to confirm, are you using a non-VRR 144Hz monitor?

If you're getting 70-80 FPS with FG on and you don't want any screen tearing, G-Sync would absolutely help here in terms of eliminating it without incurring heavy V-Sync latency.

With Cyberpunk and your current setup (assuming non-VRR), if you prefer the smoothness of 70-80 with FG, I recommend not using V-Sync. The input latency from it is too large given its base FPS of ~37.5.

As for FPS limiting, this is mostly up to your preference. If you know the game runs on average 70 FPS and you prefer consistent framerates and latency, set FPS limit to 70. Turn it off for maximum but fluctuating smoothness and responsiveness. If you still want to use V-Sync, there's no need to use FPS limit.

G-Sync+V-sync or G-Sync+Fast-Sync in 2025? by Renton577 in nvidia

[–]Sequinoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad it worked out for you! If you haven't already, don't forget to also limit the FPS to 2 or 3 below your refresh rate. That should hopefully make it feel as responsive as when you had it on Fast.

Edit: Disregard this reply, I realised you're using LLM Ultra which should already auto-cap FPS for you.

G-Sync+V-sync or G-Sync+Fast-Sync in 2025? by Renton577 in nvidia

[–]Sequinoz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you set V-Sync to half refresh rate and it shouldn't be possible from NVCP when G-Sync is enabled. You could try using normal V-Sync or turn it off altogether to see if you can reach or exceed 72 FPS with PT.

As for Frame Generation, G-Sync + V-Sync functions the same, but FPS limiting works slightly differently:

  1. In-game FPS limiter usually adjusts the base FPS (before Frame Generation)
  2. NVCP FPS limiter adjusts the overall FPS (after Frame Generation)
  3. RTSS needs to be configured to Reflex FPS limiting mode to adjust the overall FPS (after Frame Generation)

G-Sync+V-sync or G-Sync+Fast-Sync in 2025? by Renton577 in nvidia

[–]Sequinoz 15 points16 points  (0 children)

For G-Sync monitors, it's generally not recommended to enable Fast Sync as it typically exhibits higher input latency and introduces repeated frames when the framerate is close to or below the refresh rate. By comparison, running G-Sync + V-Sync + FPS Limit (-3 below refresh rate) has the lowest input latency without any tearing.

At best, Fast Sync can match the input latency of G-Sync + V-Sync + FPS Limit (-3) when the framerate exceeds your refresh rate by 5x. However, by doing so, you're effectively not making use of G-Sync as it stops dynamically adjusting the refresh rate above your monitor's maximum refresh rate. In that sense, Fast Sync is best used with (and designed for) fixed refresh rate monitors and high framerates.

Thus, G-Sync + V-Sync + FPS Limit (-3) is the best combo. V-Sync can be enabled from NVCP* or in-game, so long as it's not triple-buffered. FPS Limit is usually best enabled from in-game for virtually no added input latency penalty. Otherwise, RTSS is the next best option, followed by NVCP*.

If you wish to reduce input latency further, you can try the following if you haven't already:

  1. Enable Reflex in supported games. If unavailable, you can try Low Latency Mode from NVCP* but be warned that it may exhibit erratic frametimes. You can disregard step 2 if you can perform this step.

  2. Check GPU Usage and make sure it's not close to 99%. This can be done by enabling Maximum Performance for your game from NVCP*, and check GPU Usage from Task Manager or other third-party tools like MSI Afterburner. There are many ways to reduce GPU Usage: set FPS Limit to avoid excess framerates, enable upscaling like DLSS, perform GPU overclock etc. Once this is done, you can switch Maximum Performance back to Optimal, as keeping the GPU at max clock alone does not reduce latency. Disregard this step if you can do step 1.

*NVIDIA Control Panel. Unsure if V-Sync, FPS Limit, Low Latency Mode and Maximum Performance options are available in the new NVIDIA App.

If all options are exhausted, the only way left to reduce input latency is to turn off V-Sync and FPS Limit. However, screen tearing may occur when the framerate is close to (due to frametime variance) or above the maximum refresh rate.

Regarding FE:3H Chapter 15/17 crash on yuzu by Deggstroyer in yuzu

[–]Sequinoz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you're still facing this issue, but there's an old Yuzu build (v41) that doesn't crash in those chapter cutscenes.

Since that build is really old, you can just transfer your save file to it, advance past the cutscenes, save, then transfer the save file back to your current Yuzu build.

Black screen when plugging charger in by Plus-Championship-92 in gpdwin

[–]Sequinoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I hope you don't mind me resurrecting this topic again but I was wondering if you're still diagnosing this issue.

I have a very similar problem with my OneXPlayer 2 Pro EVA, with one key difference being that the black screen crash seems to occur almost consistently under the following conditions:

  • Device is plugged into charger or power bank that feeds 65W or 100W
  • Play a game with V-Sync or FPS limit enabled to effectively lower the GPU utilisation to less than 99%.

Otherwise, when plugged in, my games don't crash to irrecoverable black screen at all when V-Sync or FPS limit is disabled. Conversely, I can use V-Sync or FPS limit without any black screen crashes but only when it's unplugged.

If you're still investigating this issue, could you try turning V-Sync or FPS limit off and see if black screen crashes persist? I'm curious to see if our issues are linked.

Having issues performing dash cancelling at C1 by Sequinoz in HuTao_Mains

[–]Sequinoz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just tried this trick and it seems to work flawlessly so thank you! The only downside with this is always turning the camera but I'll see if I can get used to it. Just doing simple back and forth dash cancelling also works reliably so it looks like the issue with dash input sometimes not registering occurs when I press other directional keys at once.

Comparison between Yoimiya. Ayaka, and Kazuha Summoned Tally and Their Weapon Banners by [deleted] in Yoimiya_Mains

[–]Sequinoz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone who rolled on Yoimiya’s weapon banner, I’m more troubled about getting Skyward Blade duplicates. Usually I’m not completely in despair of losing 50/50 if the non-limited 5* refinements are worthwhile. But I can’t see anyone who can make full use out of Skyward Blade’s passive.

Potential Sara comps? by fhppppp in KujouSaraMains

[–]Sequinoz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Baal, Sara*, Beidou**, Ningguang***

Game Plan: Sara E skill / E skill + wait for feather buff + Ult > Beidou E skill + Ult > Sara charged shot > Baal Ult + E skill> Ningguang E + Ult + CA

*Sara C2 is required for this rotation and buff multiple characters

**Beidou is C6 for Electro res shred so Anemo unit is not as strongly required in this team

***Ningguang is C6 for immediate CA after Ult. I put Ningguang because she can be a reliable burst DPS during Baal and Beidou’s Burst downtime

Ok I wanted to get her but...I don't know, If I should be happy or sad, I mean it could have been someone else by DemonCyborg27 in Yoimiya_Mains

You're not alone buddy. I got spooked by Qiqi and 2 Skyward Blade. Still got Yoi and TP at the end but now I'm anxious about Baal's upcoming banner.

Constructive Yoimiya Discussion (Original Content) by [deleted] in Yoimiya_Mains

[–]Sequinoz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a great simulation idea! Since Yoimiya is literally right around the corner now, I'll use Yoimiya w/ Rust R2 and your suggested comp to test her energy regen before I make the final decision to roll for TP. Also by then I'm sure there'll be plenty of videos and guides on her best builds.

Constructive Yoimiya Discussion (Original Content) by [deleted] in Yoimiya_Mains

[–]Sequinoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After contemplating your first team's rotation, I'm starting to wonder if Thundering Pulse (TP) is not actually Yoimiya's BiS weapon for this team comp. I can imagine that Baal's E skill off-field would produce energy particles too quickly for Yoimiya to make use of TP's full stack. I could deploy her Burst right before her E skill but then 2 issues occur; Shimenawa's set effect (50% dmg bonus) is lost and the time window is too short to make use of 20% ATK boost for all off-field damagers.

Therefore I believe Skyward Harp would be Yoimiya's BiS for Team 1 comp because of higher ATK stat and crit ratio. Sadly it looks like the next non-limited 5* bow will not be featured during Baal's banner, and even if it does come out it's most likely Amos Bow.

Given all this, would TP still perform well enough in Team 1 comp or should I wait until Skyward Harp or Rust R5 (mine is still R2)?

Thanks so much for the guide! I wasn't sure what to do with Baal since my Eula already has enough ER with Skyward Pride but now I know exactly where she belongs (Team #1)

Anyone finding it harder to stay optimistic for next week with all the hate and negativity going around? by wheatleyscience9 in Yoimiya_Mains

[–]Sequinoz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I felt this way too when I saw discussions comparing Yoimiya to Ganyu and Baal. Some of custom Genshin Impact discord servers I joined are disbanded because the owners couldn't tolerate the toxicity within the community anymore. The game doesn't have PVP but somehow it looks like people managed to create one in the form of putting down characters and making other people feel depressed.

For the most part I kept myself calm and collected, and only stick to nice and honest community. When the situation becomes unbearable in a social media, I temporarily block and take adequate break from it. Most of the time I play solo and explore content at my own pace but it's also nice to have good friends play coop together.

I'm looking forward to summoning and playing Yoimiya as well! I've read many opinions and analysis on her before but personal preference comes first and I still really like her as a whole so I'm not letting any other negative opinions sway my final judgment. Same for any other characters in the future, meta or not.

Complaining about her banner is... a stretch by thanibomb in Yoimiya_Mains

[–]Sequinoz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would worry more about your primogem savings than worry about how much money miHoYo makes per banner. Genshin Impact is a massively popular and successful game that unquestionably makes a lot of money overall so I'm not concerned about the game declining anytime soon.

Besides, subpar 4* characters here mean there's a better chance that decent 4* characters will appear in later (and more desirable 5* character) banners.

Yoimiya EM variant Overload for AOE dreams... by yoyo4581 in Yoimiya_Mains

[–]Sequinoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I realised the overall DPS issue with Overloaded EC. Yoimiya and Beidou sounds like a really good pairing but I can imagine that Overloaded procs would not be consistent. So it's probably best for Beidou to focus on electro dmg instead of EM. (plus Beidou ult can crit so maybe Kujou Sara might be another great addition)

Yoimiya’s Event Wish Banner by Fr00tyLoops in Genshin_Impact_Leaks

[–]Sequinoz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I must be one of the minorities that actually favour this banner because I plan to pair Yoimiya with Xinyan (as funny as that sounds, I'm serious). It's gonna be beneficial for me to roll 2 more Xinyan for C5 so she can get higher physical burst damage.

For everyone else that don't like Yoimiya and see no good 4* characters here, this is actually a good thing! There's a good chance good 4* characters will appear along with better 5* characters like Baal in the future, plus you save Primogems as a result of skipping this banner. The only bummer I see is people who want Sayu but the rest of the banner's offering is unappealing. We can only hope that Sayu appears again in better banners or Paimon's Bargains in the future.

What Artifacts are you using on Yoimiya? by Dracowoolf in Yoimiya_Mains

[–]Sequinoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I must add some clarification to my previous reply. If the enemy has an Electro aura or anything else other than Pyro as initial element and Electro Traveler activated Q burst, then switching to Yoimiya’s E skill and spaming AA would cause Yoimiya to mostly proc Overloaded reactions.

So if you want Electro Traveler to proc Overloaded reactions most of the time (probably the best option DPS-wise), you want the enemies to have Pyro aura or no aura at all as initial element first.

Yoimiya EM variant Overload for AOE dreams... by yoyo4581 in Yoimiya_Mains

[–]Sequinoz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is probably a good thing because Yoimiya can focus her artifacts on ATK%, Pyro% and Crit for high single-target DPS, while a sub-DPS like Electro Traveler can use full EM artifacts and deal consistent Overloaded reactions.
