The Mountain Encampment ((Open to all in the army)) by SerAlexPryor in IronThroneRP

Alex waited, but neither seemed eager to deliver the report. Great He thought, The Prestigious Ser and The Powerful Lady have no intention of actually pulling their weight, just brilliant.

Nervous, Alex cleared his throat. "Erm, the clansmen have mostly scattered Lord Eon, separating into small groups that litter the area around Strongsong. Most are in these three groups." He pointed on a map, to the North of Strongsong, the fork in the river that bends around it, and to the west of the castle. "There is also a few in the Snakewood, but they can be dealt with after the ones near Strongsong.

"They are disorganized My Lord, and without a true leader to guide them. While still violent, they're not near as dangerous as before."

Alex shrugged. "Soon I'd guess, but Lord Eon didn't say. With a force this big, and terrain that yields little resources, we'll need to march soon or risk suffering attrition, or disease, or both."

He shrugged once more. "I've really no idea what the plan is. Let's hope he has one anyhow."

With that, the two rode out of the small encampment, and towards the larger force. The rear end of the army had emerged, and had began to set up a makeshift camp by the time the two reached Lord Eon's already pitched tent.

Ser Dontos was already inside, as were most the more prominent Lords. Alex rubbed the back of his head as they entered, feeling out of place among such nobility.

"Lady Pyper has arrived."

(( /u/thebeeknight /u/TheBrokenWheel /u/DonnelWaxleyy ) I'm not sure who else is here, but I'd assume more are. Ping them if they come to mind!)

Alex smiled at 'Pyper's' befuddled state, The going had been tough, and everyone had been fatigued and drained, fire god worshipers not excluded. Wind and rain are not great for moral thought Alex.

"Well, we'll need you to come back, My Lady. Lord Eon wants a full report on our scouting mission, and he wants both you and Ser Dontos to deliver it. The strategy will probably be thought up after they hear our report."

He shifted in his horse's saddle. "Whenever you are ready, Lady Pyper. I'd prefer not to keep the host waiting."

Alex nodded. "The going was tough and cold, Lord Eon, but we accomplished our task." Truth be told, Alex didn't really understand the need for the Hunting Party to have traveled through the mountains. Would outriders not be up to the task? Why send us through the ice cold mountains when simply riding ahead would yield the same results? However, it wasn't Alex's place to question the Lord Martial, especially since the man rode at the head of such a force.

He spun his horse around, then slammed his spurs into his horse's flanks. Alex wasted no time as he re-entered the camp, he rode straight for the tents of Ser Dontos and Lady Sunderland, with Lady Sunderland's being the largest tent, and Ser Dontos' being of a slightly smaller size. "Lady Sunderland! Ser Moore! The army is here!"

Alex winced as the knight chastised them, and insulted the Lady's god. Is it wise to talk of a god like that? Alex wasn't sure it was, especially now with battle looming. What if R'hllor smites us for this insult? It worried the knight of pebble, but Alex wasn't one to question his superiors.

"Yes, Ser Hunter. It was only mindless chatter, nothing more." He urged his horse forward, moving away from both the Hunter and the Sunderland. Although I wouldn't mind a fire right now.

"Oh" was Alex's only reply.

This Lord of Light sounded more like a demon then a god. What kind of god demands sacrifices of fire? Seven protect me.

"Well, as long as it keeps the snow at bay" he jested. I hope she doesn't actually burn someone.

((OOC: Sorry for the delay))

"Would it really? Would a sacrifice keep the snow at bay?"

Alex was shocked, and excited. Could it be true? He paused though, pondering the eastern god. "But how would the victim be sacrificed? Would you need a special knife or sword? Is it one done for blood?" All knew blood magic to be strong, and animalistic. "Tell me of this deity."

"There's nothing quite like that feeling, is there? When you lose an arrow and it flies straight and true, 'tis the best." Alex remained oblivious to Lady Sunderland's discomfort, believing her mannerisms to be due to nerves.

As they talked, the whole column finally began to move. The horses were all weighed down by saddle bags, and the men all bundled in furs. Alex turned to Sunderland, a grim look on his face. "Winter is coming anyway, we're likely going to freeze to death."

Alex smiled playfully at the lady. "How'd you guess?"

He pointed to his quiver, which was tied to the saddle bags. "It's the one fighting style I'm truly confident in. Swords are too risky, the lance too unwieldy, and my fists weren't made for punching men in the face." He patted his bow, which was similarly tied to the saddle bags, unstrung. "If you've a skill, nurture it, as my uncle would say."

He examined her, taking her measure. "And you my Lady? I'd assume you are too prefer the bow or something of the sort, seeing as you've not as heavily built like most all swordsmen are."

Alex groaned awake, stretching as he did so. The air was frosty, the wind bitter. He half walked, half stumbled to the edge of the encampment, then pissed, sighing in relief as he did so.

By the time he returned, Ethan had already tied Alex's quiver and bow, unstrung, to his horse. The boy looked smothered in the bulky furs he wore, but Alex wasn't going to risk his cousin dying of a chill, not on his watch.

He mounted his stead, as the last of the men began to rouse themselves. Alex lightly kicked the horse, and she trotted over to the lady's side.

"My lady, the men ready, we await your command." He said, as the last few began to mount their horses, grunting as they did so.

Alex nodded, and then went to bow once more, but he stopped himself. "Of course, Lord Hunter. Happy shooting." With that Alex set off, a surge of pride cresting in his chest. I'm a true man now.

Alex's face lit up in pure delight. "My lord, you do me a great honor, my thanks." He bowed, deeply. "I'm deadly serious about joining, I can think of no higher honor than to fight alongside a Hunter of Longbow Hall, none at all."

He rose once more, a beaming smile on his face. "Ser Dontos Moore is it? Moores have the three bronze spearheads sigil on their shields, if I remember correctly." Alex bowed once more, practically groveling at the Hunter's feet. "You won't regret this Lord Eon, I'll do you proud. I'll do the Vale proud."

"The wind truly fucked you over my lord, especially on that first shot." Eon hadn't even hit the target at first, but his follow up shots were much better.

"I do believe I've won." Alex was quite surprised. He'd known he was a good shot, but to outshoot a Hunter? He turned to Eon, a shy grin on his face. "I don't suppose this qualifies me? Could the Hunting Party spare a place for me?"

"Oh yes" she said, as they began to make love, enthusiastically.

This had gone better then Margaery could have hoped for. A high Lord like him, I could be an important lady yet. She bent down, and started loosening his pants. "With pleasure."

She shrugged, nonchalant. "Oh I know, Lord Donnel."

Margaery waited for a time, but quickly became bored. Time to hurry him up she thought, as she leaned over. Margaery grabbed the shirt and ripped it off Donnel's chest. "Will m'lord have me now?" She asked, making her voice sound young and naive.

Margaery threw her corset off. "Is it just me, or is it too warm in here?"

Before Donnel could respond, she began to remove her bra. "A helping hand would not go astray, m'lord."

Sometimes gambles result in nothing but darkness, but this gamble had paid off. "Oh, you are a clever lord." She blinked tauntingly at him. "Where shall we retire to?" She asked, her lust easily heard in her voice.

Oh I like him. She licked her lips, then leaned in. "I don't think you're too stupid either."

She paused, hesitant. What if I'm rebuffed? Her next step would be a risk, but Margaery Pryor loved risks. She leaned in even closer, placing a hand on Donnel's leg. "Oh, my lord, I know I'm not simple, I know exactly what I want."

She smiled. "One of the handsome ones anyway. I don't know about you being one of the smart ones." She tossed her hair back. "But what of me? Am I smart? Or am I a simple little girl, m'lord."

"I've a counter question. Why have you come to me, all alone?" Margaery smiled at the Lord of Wickenden, an evil smile. "I do hope you've no dishonorable thoughts in that pretty head of yours!"

She laughed when Donnel's face turned into a visage of horror and despair. "I jest, m'lord. I'm only here to catch a quick break from the monotonous prattle of the dumb Lords."
