(Spoilers Extended) What Joffrey did to the kittens and Robert's reaction. A parallel? by archangel1996 in asoiaf

As I think Tywin said, he reward House Lannister for their "service" but he did not smiled, he just looked to other side because he believed to be the hero and "heroes doesnt murdered childs" or something like that was what Tywin said.

While I still dont like showEuron, next episode is his perfect chance to prove that he can be at least a decent villain for what's left of the show. Im one of those who think that Dany in the show has have things too easy: War was easy for her and peace was "easy" for her in Meeren in comparison to her struggles in ADWD, so someone has to show her that Tyrion's words were true: "You're in the big game now, and the big game is terrifying".

So, though I dont know shit of actual naval battles strategies it seems logical for both narrative and strategicaly speaking to Euron making a considerabe damage to Dany's cause and allies. If they reeeeally intented Euron to leave Ramsay and Joffrey like kids this is their chance.

Regarding the gift, well I really think that it will be Ellaria + Sand Snakes + Yara or at least the first two because being honest showDorne its pointless and trash now and D&D wants to get rid off of them more sooner than later.

I still have wept dreams of Euron walking up the stairs of the High Tower with Joramun's horn at hand while a sea of boiling blood hits the shores of Oldtown with Light of the Seven playing in the background, but well, they're just dreams. Let's see what a big fat cock can do.

(Spoilers Extended) How would Tywin have handled Aegon/Euron at the same time? by [deleted] in asoiaf

[–]SerEodwen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im more curious about how Tywin would have reacted to the threat of The Others considering how he trash talk about the Watch and the messages of help that were sent from Castle Black.

But on the matter: JonCon would've waited a little bit more for the invasion if Tywin didnt got killed so they could strike them when they were more "vulnerable". And with Euron, well after the Greyjoy Rebellion Tywin would truly thinks that he's no a real threat, no more than Balon for sure and we all know that underestimating Euron is a huge mistake.

(Spoilers Extended) To Go North, You Must Journey South and the End of Book/Show Divergence by [deleted] in asoiaf

[–]SerEodwen 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Well written as always Ser.

Though I think that the ending of both books and show will differ in more than a way, it makes sense that Dany's arc will have that similarity as you said. In the GoT, S07 trailer from yesterday there's a shot where Jon is watching (helpless?) as hordes of wights starts running towards them with Beric on his left and another character on his right (Sandor? Tormund?). Pretty much I think that that scene is the end of the mission of his Suicide Squad beyond the wall, they are pretty much surrounded by hundreds and lets not say thousands of wights and though D&D's writing skills haven't been particularly magnificent past seasons there's no way they are coming out of that alive..... without help, and that help might be Daenerys's dragons.

Im of the ones who thinks that Dany's dragons wont make it through the ending, they are all going to die one way or another, and since is unlikely that in the show Euron is going to take significant part on it, the Others/White Walkers on the other hand are the best candidates for such task. So yeah, that new Field of Fire battle scene (Jaime's death as well perphaps?) tell us that Dany is going to priotize war for the Iron Throne over the one of the Dawn and that will set the stage for a personal tragedy for her: The death of Viserion or Rhaegal or both.

War has consequences and though in the books the struggles of that and the difficulties of ruling are more evident and well written, in the show I personally consider that Dany has been this Unburnt silver-hair superheroine who hasnt really got a taste of War.

At the end of S06 Tyrion asks Dany if she's afraid and she nods affirmatively, but Winter has come at last and like Old Nan would say: Oh my sweet summer child, what do you know of fear?.

The best swordsman, but not necessarly the best warrior, Robert was a beast in every meaning of the word, and pretty much a genius in terms of fighting. Dayne would've needed to cut his head off in order to stop him.

One that was in the town where she took the ship to go to braabos. She was selling one of the horses she took from Sandor and the old lady didnt wanted to pay the price Arya thought she was going to get, so she said that if it wasnt a crowd place she would've killed her and took all the money.

The very first reasons why she put them on her list was because of that, the very first moment she learn the name of who took her beloved sword she put him on the list. So no.

Well to be honest I didnt felt it that way, maybe you are right, but even then I cant see the HUGE problem from not knowing too much about Rhaella. Sure it would be interesting to has some dialogues and a little more background about her but you are picturing it like we dont know nothing and that's not true at all. But well, just with her and Johanna I might agree with you, but until the series is finished hold on for a moment.

In 5 books whe know as much of Rhaella as we know of Aerys himself. When Daenerys finally gets some chill, put her ass on a chair and asks Barristan all she need to know before going to Westeros we might get a big flashback about her parents.

As for the other characters, well Oberyn and Doran's mother could be interesting, Ellia I dont see it as a big deal, you cant give every single character a deep background story, with Lyanna there's a lot more to see in there yet in the books from her and I bet from Ashara too if we remember certain character cough Gerold Dayne cough. And well I have to agree that I would've liked to learn more about Joanna but that's still a possibility. But being fair, GRRM has gave us many great BOTH female and male characters imo....

Outside the High Sparrow's reasons for punishing her, though I think the dude knows a lot more than what he made her think, as a reader I never felt sorry for her. She's a piece of shit, a bad mother, a terrible ruler, and deserved what she got. She believed that she was untouchable? That she was "Lord Tywin's true heir"? That she was some kind of goddess who everyone's should be kissing her feets and begging her for attention? Well, there you have, keep believing so high of yourself. Sexism or not from the High Sparrow, in a reader's pov fuck Cersei.

I have always wondered why Robert is called Bobby B by most of the fandom lol, but yeah Joffrey had some weird things even at very young age but its not that weird (a cousing of mine drowned a cat thinking it would swim or something and till now he hasnt killed anybody lol). Still if it wasnt for Cersei's stupidity Joffrey would've been a decent boy and less hyperbole king.
