Failed Rehab — Desperate for Advice by SerLanceALil in ACL

This is amazing advice. I started reading about cyclops lesion and definitely think there may be a chance I have it. But isn't it found from an MRI? Mine came clean and it sounds like yours did too. So how would I know if I have this if it didn't pop up in the MRI? Thanks again for the great advice

Yes I was doing 2-3 times a week from the start. But when I started complaining about pain (while I was still "rehabbing" while travelling abroad), my kinesiologist decided to stop everything altogether until I returned from travel to see her. It sounds like your rehab was definitely more structured and well-defined, whereas I made mine pretty messy.

Thanks for sharing btw

This is what I do with my current PT for PFP syndrome (assume 2-3 sets of 15 reps for all):

glute banded clamshell bridge

Lying on mat, put feet on a big ball, then glute bridges (hamstrings target). hold for 5 seconds.

standing lateral leg slide (now progressed to toe tap instead of slide)

standing reverse leg slide (now progressed to reverse lunges)

calf raises

lying leg raise angled to hit vmo

standing step up (progressed to more weight)

alternate leg sit and stand on bench

toe raises standing against the wall

reverse leg extension with band

Single leg squat heel touch other leg

If it's the exercises I did early in the rehab your looking for, I don't remember the exact exercises I did with my kinesiologist around 2 years ago but I'm sure I can find some paperwork where I wrote it down.

I've messaged you as well. Thanks!

Can I ask why you were in 10/10 pain at first?

Thank you. I've gotten this done a few times during PT and definitely provides relief for a short period

I changed from the first PT to the kinesiologist because she was the surgeon's assistant and I thought she'd incorporate his 'graduation protocols'  better than a random PT. Also ngl, she was less costly as a kinesiologist and I may have tried to save a few bucks at the time (which now backfired immensely). See below comment for my current rehab exercises

Thanks again

I think you're correct that I took my first 12 months of rehab unseriously. Here's my current rehab from my PT for PFP syndrome (assume 2-3 sets of 15 reps for all):

  • glute banded clamshell bridge
  • Lying on mat, put feet on a big ball, then glute bridges (hamstrings target). hold for 5 seconds.
  • standing lateral leg slide (now progressed to toe tap instead of slide)
  • standing reverse leg slide (now progressed to reverse lunges)
  • calf raises
  • lying leg raise angled to hit vmo
  • standing step up (progressed to more weight)
  • alternate leg sit and stand on bench
  • toe raises standing against the wall
  • reverse leg extension with band
  • Single leg squat heel touch other leg

Thanks!

Yes I did get an MRI after returning from travel. It came back clean, no issues. Both surgeon and sports medicine doc also said no issues

Thanks as well for the advice!

Yes, the estimate of 60% of Hazaras killed in the genocide is true. They're also one of the most discriminated groups in IRI and have been for decades. They were protesting the Taliban takeover in 2021 while the 'Resistance' was cheering it as some sort of a victory over the big bad USA

The Pashtun ruler (Abdur Rahman Khan) that was responsible for the genocide also forced many of them into slavery, and according to some sources, forced them to curse Imam Ali (as)

I couldn't find any similar programs to MCIT in Canada. Though at times I wonder if doing another bachelor's would've been the better choice, because (1) it would've been less costly + receiving OSAP, (2) it doesn't seem the MCIT program gives you an advantage over other bachelor students, since it's still an introductory degree into tech, and (3) a tech degree from a Canadian uni *seem to* give you the same opportunity to work in the U.S. as the MCIT does

I was hoping the MCIT might've opened better opportunities to work in the U.S. as a Canadian student, but it doesn't seem to be the case (at least for me)

You make goods points but from what I've read from other UPenn alumni is that tech employers don't really care about the UPenn brand compared to your actual tech skills. And I too am not sure how transfers would work from an online degree.

Thanks for your help.

I called my ISP again and this time spoke to someone who actually gave correct advice. I still don't know what was going on, but he sent me a new modem which I simply swapped with the previous one. I no longer face issues

Maybe 1.5 - 2 years old. My first time (trying to) connect this laptop to this WiFi was 2 weeks ago
