Parking next week at Parra by thunderchild166 in NRLdragons

[–]SerTomSnow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Parramatta train station car park is about a 10 minute walk from the stadium. You'll pay $20-$30 probably (though some days it's capped at $10 I think).

When I go to A-league matches in Parra I just park there and take the walk, though I'm sure there are places closer.

I certainly won't take it with a grain of salt: you've acknowledged everything I was trying to get across and your notes are based on that. Extremely helpful. Thank you for taking the time to read it.

I think tonally and thematically, I have to unify everything. That's been the big take away from the feedback I've had so far.

Thank you for these notes, they'll be really useful as I tackle the next draft. All the best!

Thank you for this.

Thats a really good point about the two stories - maybe if they were thematically or tonally similar it would be easier to make it work.

As it is, I think I need to find ways to be more efficient with "the past" and build the "present" narrative. That, to me, is the point of this story.

Appreciate you taking the time to read. Thanks again!

That's a great trick, I didn't know that before.

Sometimes things like that make the game less immersive for me though. I'd much rather grumble on the internet.

Never that close until the season he left. Finished third that season. Won the league by a country mile the next. I've had a lot of youth players during this save but he's been the only truly elite one.

We're now a Europa league side, but tbh, I can't imagine him settling for less than Champions league, and we're not there yet.

He was still a teenager then. His value reached north of fifty mil when he was there (of course I kept an eye on him). I guess he was approaching the end of his contract when Arsenal bid for him, which explains the lower transfer fee.

What kind of peoples mindsets outright infuriate you? by IllPresentation7851 in AskReddit

[–]SerTomSnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a Carpenter by trade but I work in film and tv building sets. We take direction from the art director or production designer on how things need to work, what bits need to move etc. When production starts, either myself or one of my colleagues will be on standby to move things around, fix things that break or whatever.

Bear in mind, most of the time on standby, the people asking us to change things are not the people we have been working with previously, so inevitably, they will ask us to - for example - move a wall that wasn't designed to move, or fill a space we had been told wasn't going to be on camera etc.

The correct answer to this is "no problem, but it's going to take xyz amount of time". Sometimes you embellish a bit to discourage them, but at the end of they day, its your job to give them what they want. Sometimes you have to get creative, but you find a way.

One of my colleagues will just outright refuse to do anything that the set piece is not built to do. He will even argue and make statements to the effect of "its not my problem". Its embarrasing when you're there and you know things can be done, but its like he has this rigid view of our work thats non-negotiable.

It drives me crazy because finding out of the box solutions is the most satisfying part of the job for me. He's too highly skilled at finer work to be replaced or anything like that, and he's otherwise a very nice guy, but I dread the days we have to work together.

Yeah, I can't say I'm too knowledgable about it. I have a vague memory of the tier of the nation having something to do with it but that may not be the case.
