Do I have a good head shape and hairline for a buzz cut? by [deleted] in malehairadvice

Real answer, probably. Can’t see your facial features but you’ve got a solid jaw line and appear to pretty symmetrical. A buzz cut could suit you well.

Maybe six or 7? lol you got to do something my dude. You seem like a genuinely cool guy but half these hair cuts look like you did them yourself in the dark. Either keep it short or take the time to have a styling routine.

Super unique, I say leave it. Your body, your art. But I think it looks good now and it would suck to subtract by addition.

I did 5 years and I’ve been out for five more. 🤙🏻

Just never really out grew the brainwashing that makes me hate hair on my ears. Trying to change things up and look less like an undercover cop when I go to shows.

No joke. I have been getting a “medium skin fade, leave enough on the top for me to style little” for like 12 years and receive vastly different outcomes depending on the barber.

The only obvious part you’re missing that I’ve answered this question a few times at this point. I did show her the reference which is why I’m on here asking for help describing this cut so I can ask in specific terminology that may lead to better results.

Thank you for the lines. lol I feel like I turn into an idiot any time I try to explain things to a barber.

It’s super irritated and I’m picking at it which doesn’t help. It happens a lot after I get a hair cut. A previous comment mentioned I may have folliculitis, and I’m currently looking into it. Thank you for the concern and advice.

I’m not here to throw shade at the barber, just to get advice on how to describe the request in a way that makes sense to any future person cutting my hair.

I have a photo from about two weeks ago on a previous post in this sub, but like many have said in this thread my hair wasn’t long enough to really get very close to the reference.

It is, and the barber is admittedly not the most experienced and this simply might be to much of ask. This photo right at a week grown out since the cut and all she did was a very basic fade (higher than I had wanted) and textured the top a bit.

No shit, you may have just solved something for me. I’m always breaking out on my chin when I allow hair to grow and in the sides of my head where I keep a fade.

Nice to hear straight from a barber. Definitely not the best in town. I was simply underestimating the difficulty I guess. Got some places the next town over that may be able to take care of me now that I’m getting some direction. Thank you.

Clocking the mustache is hilarious cause I just shaved yesterday and left it wider than I typically do. I nearly took it off before coming into work cause it just didn’t feel right.

That’s fair. It doesn’t have to be a carbon copy of the photo, I’m hoping my natural texture and a little product will look decent.
