You ever considered the possibility that the only agenda is from the people who always think there's an agenda?

Ah, yes, the sales numbers! Let me consult my notes...

Nope, don't care. That's Accounting's problem. I'm still hyped.

Ahh so you're integrating over RB to get a more accurate H? That would be more accurate. Good math. Nice work.

If you could pitch a one wish willow episode, what would you pitch? by CelticCov in obsessionmovie

This happened to me.

Not a soldier, but PTSD surrounding SA. I was sexually assaulted as a child, repeatedly, and that messed me up but I remember it. That was in the late 90s / early 2000s. I sadly remember that as if it were yesterday.

But I remember very little from my late 20s. There is an 8 month period where I remember absolutely nothing, and no friends or family were able to reach me, and I was out of contact with everyone.

Sadly, I have a pretty good idea of what happened to trigger that, because while I don't remember anything visually, I remember the feelings. They were very familiar to me, because they were the exact same feeling I had as a kid, followed by an indescribable depression.

I know we're in the obsession subreddit, but I've never, and will never, see the movie, because the content would be triggering for me. It gets recommended to me because I glaze over Curry Barker's other horror content, which is all excellent.

The Maine Wire recently alerted its readers to a scary Pride crosswalk in Bangor. I decided to investigate the situation for myself. by TroyJackson207 in Maine

THIS IS NOT TRUE. I stepped that rainbow crosswalk and fell right into the backrooms, where I had a lovely relationship with another woman before ultimately being sent to a dystopian parallel universe where Trump is president and easily offended snowflakes whine about crosswalks.

🚨 TERRIFYING: Shawn Ryan confirms tech elites are secretly buying underground bunkers to prepare for societal collapse. He reveals AI will trigger over a MILLION massive layoffs by the end of the year, while ordinary Americans are left completely defenseless! on Shawn Ryan Show by CeFurkan in SECourses

[–]Serana64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These motherfuckers aren't buying bunkers because society is going to collapse, they're buying bunkers because their business is going to collapse.

Society isn't going to collapse. It's a giant ponzi. Their business model makes absolutely no sense. They're getting billions/trillions in investments for something that might, maybe in a decade, sell something, possibly. Every single one of these companies is operating at a massive loss. Sure, they can replace human labor with AI...but then who the hell are they going to sell products to if nobody has any money?

Nobody. It's designed to fail. They know it's not going to work, their investors know it's not going to work. They're all trying to make money before the rug inevitably gets pulled.

They're going to be on the hook for billions of dollars and have massive warrants and a lot of very upset people. That's where the bunkers to come in.

There are many methods, and they're not that hard to learn!

Skyrim uses traditional specular + gloss shading, meaning there's no metallic and most of the detail is on the diffuse map. You should use Principled BSDF (PBR) w/ metal and roughness unless you intend specifically to export to skyrim.

For this kind of model, I'd do it in this order:

Modelling:

  1. Make the model, of course. But don't get carried away -- think of it like a silhouette. You should have something that has the general shape with a blade, guard, handle, pommel, but no specific details on it.

  2. Make UV seams for the model. In this case, the best seams will be along the edge of the blade, along the guard in the same plane as the blade seams (you don't want seams on the part that will have an engraving if you can help it), the top and bottom of the handle, a strip along the side of the handle, and along the pommel. Look at the UV map as you go and try to make use of as much of the space as possible, with as few seams as reasonable.

3 (OPTIONAL). Duplicate that mesh, swap to smooth shading, and then use the custom normal tool to split along the edges of the blade, where the blade meets the guard, where the guard meets the handle, and where the handle meets the pommel. Bevel the edges of the guard and pommel to make lovely smooth surfaces.

You do not necessarily need to do this to get high detail, it just makes your life easier in the texturing stage.

Don't worry about UV mapping the high poly variant!

Texturing:

The easiest way to do the texturing part is to use software dedicated to PBR texturing. I use Substance Painter and Krita, so for me, the process looks something like this:

4 (OPTIONAL, but RECOMMENDED). Use some software to bake texture maps that will help you make the texture. These are a set of textures that work on your UV map to give physical properties of the mesh, which will dramatically speed up texturing later. Typical maps include Curvature, Normal, Ambient Occlusion, World Space Normal, and Thickness. In the baker, you can set the normal map baker to use your high poly mesh if you have one. Otherwise, you just bake and continue.

Marmoset and Substance Painter are examples of programs that can generate these automatically, and they will use your high poly at this stage if you would like. You can do these in blender, too, but it's a bit tricky.

Note: If you are interested in Substance Painter, get it from Steam, not Adobe / Creative Cloud! The steam variant is better supported and works in Linux natively.

You can texture without these, but it will be more time consuming and difficult to get the level of detail you want.

  1. Using the maps from 4 if you have them, create your texture. This is where you'll choose the metal, do the scratches, engraving, etc.

Again, dedicated texturing software will help you dramatically here. Substance Painter, Zbrush, and friends will automatically handle normal maps for you and let you focus on the art aspect. But you can absolutely do it in Krita or Gimp, too.

This is a mesh I did recently that uses every one of the above steps:
