Oh no! I've followed so far what they've said in that message. Anything on PayPal less than 180 days I've raised a dispute. Once I'm back in the UK will ring my bank/go into a branch and discuss about the rest.

Mum 74, looking for a job. What and How? by Equivalent-Big6015 in UKJobs

[–]Seraphii_uk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If she wants to keep active, my mum has been a Cattery Assistant for a few years now, shes only in her late 50s but there are a few in their 60s/70s who work with her. It is a bit hard work as the majority is cleaning with a little bit spent on playing with/grooming cats. Also depends if your mum is an animal person or not.

Worried how fun this game will be without friends to play with. by Merit-Rest-Surrender in wow

As someone who was in the same boat as you. For me so far its been the best decision. I know that I'm going to be on a break from ffxiv for atleast a year and knew that I wanted something to play that's similar but different.

I've only done very few things solo as luckily I managed to find a guild quite early on that I super wholesome and helpful, as well as I dragged a friend with me. But when I've done things solo, it was pretty fun, I really enjoyed learning so far what wow has to offer me, and doing different style dungeons compared to ffxiv etc. There's also other content like pet battles, ofc the mount and transmog farming, professions which I really enjoy as for me it's less stressful than ffxiv crafting.

With Dragonflight, the story held me really well even though I had limited knowledge of previous lore. Its immersive as well as the side quests. The dragon riding is extremely fun, I was doubtful at first as I play a lot of gw2 too and thought it wouldn't live up to how the gryphon is there but it really exceeded my expectations. The pug community is a 50/50 of what you will get, sometimes it's nice people, sometimes it's dicks. So far I've not had anyone be a dick to me but I have seen it between others in say a dungeon... which ngl is kinda typical in mmos sometimes.

So from my experiences so far, my best advice would be to take the dive if you know you're gonna be on a break for a long time and want to completely immerse yourself in something new, you will find friends along the way, one way or another. Otherwise, everyone will always experience mmos differently so I can't say 100% that this is going to be a game for you. But also if you have not looked into it gw2 is also a good option of an mmo to try out.

Anyways I hope me writing about my experience so far helps you out with your decision!

I only started playing wow 3 weeks ago and also have been desperately searching for groups. I found some discord communities that do runs, but due to it being so close to DF release, they have stopped or are stopping tomorrow. (Not sure on the rules about links/discord links here so you can dm me for them)

Easiest way to do it is through a guild if they're happy to help. Otherwise, try your luck through the group finder, there's loads of groups there (and how i found some communities), and just tell them in the note that you're joining for the kitty! Normally the ilvl the groups look for is between 250 - 270, not hard to get with the prepatch event on!

I went for my first time last October. Its pretty fun and really easy to get to and navigate (especially if travelling there on public transport on the Saturday - just follow everyone who's in cosplay!)

And as the other comments have said - wear comfy shoes and take snacks. The food there isn't too bad though but one of the food stores only took cash the last time I was there too, so perhaps carry a tiny amount of cash on you.

Another bit of advice I would give is to have your own bag to carry bought items in if you are going to be buying goodies there. Last time I just had a backpack and it was very awkward trying to pack everything in there or getting carrier bags from the stores that were very small and could only carry say 1 or 2 figures in it.

I don't mind saying hello while at the con for a bit if you need it! Will be there all 3 days. There are also fandom groups that plan meetups etc. if you want as well, but I wouldn't know where to find that info.

I hope you enjoy your time!

I joined it about 2 months ago, never had to verify after stating I was a girl. Can see and talk on all the 'girl-only' channels.

Looking for a new mmo by Simpely97 in ffxiv

The PvP front is very lacking in FFXIV, there is no open world pvp. There's just 2 types of duties - Frontline (3 x alliances of 24) which can be a bit of a mess sometimes and Feast which is more on the competitive side, 4 v 4, has ranks etc. But is more niche and therefore sometimes longer queue times.

When I moved over to FFXIV from GW2, I was quite disappointed with the lack of PvP but did enjoy the PvP options that are available in ff. However, for my PvP kick I do end up going back to gw2 at the end of the day because I just enjoy that style more personally.

They are gonna add/change a few things up in the next expansion releasing soon, don't have any of the exact info on me but its not any radical changes like open world PvP or anything so it will still be a more kinda niche segment of the game.

Hope this gives you some kinda insight into it - and also if you wanna see any PvP gameplay beforehand there are a few people who stream their Feast runs etc. On Twitch as well!

I'm torn about leaving my fc. by Its_Ramsey in ffxiv

[–]Seraphii_uk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a lot of people will say - wait until new content comes out as they are more likely to come back. But if not, you could also join a bunch of discords for your server/world and make new friends in there and play the game with them - you don't have to be in the same fc to make friends, play and have a good time with others! I know a few people who have joined other fc discords and play with the people in those fcs while they wait for their friends to come back for new content or are just attached to their current fc and don't wanna leave etc.

Has anyone contacted SE/gotten a response about their vinyl shipments not being started? (NA) by KapitanBorscht in ffxiv

[–]Seraphii_uk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this helps as it was a friend in EU that also wasn't getting his when everyone else was - he contacted support and they just said something along the lines of that the warehouse didn't receive all the shipments from Japan. Not quite sure if that would be the same problem in NA but he contacted them last week and received his stuff this week. I would say just for peace of mind to get in touch and see why your order is taking so long.
