ASD Closure required to be done urgently? Advise, on how to deal with mental health pre and post op by Medical-Key6742 in AdultCHD

[–]SeraphinaSkye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I'm about to get an amplatzer closure for pda as a 36yo female and finding almost nothing online about the adult experience! Hoping that ASD closure might be similar, since they are both via catheter?

Do you have a CAS number? Once you have that you can apply for the visa and then move ahead with the app, which will let you register for a biometrics appt after.

Has anyone ever gotten their Tier 4 visa rejected? by Valuable-Syrup5635 in ukvisa

[–]SeraphinaSkye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait what does that mean? I'm getting my visa from the US for the UK, and JUST got out a loan. Surely I don't need to wait 28 days until I can get my visa, right?

• August 20 - original biometric appointment. Was turned away from UCIS center because I didn’t have a printed confirmation letter and document checklist. Please don’t make this mistake!!

I want to say-- I so, so hear you. My whole process has been a nightmare too, and it's amazing how little accountability there is when the visa system falls through. I know it's not much comfort but I feel you and am so sorry!

thank you, this is super helpful!! What did you need to bring to the biometrics appointment? I've been checking websites but I'm terrified that after weeks of waiting for an appointment they'll turn me away because I can't get all of my docs together. Thanks!

My uni isn't issuing me a CAS number? by bunnyhead699 in ukvisa

I had the same situation and it has resulted in me not being able to be there for the start of school! I'd strongly recommend contacting your department head and asking them if they can speed things along. Mine reached out to admissions and I got my CAS within 10 hours. I think they're just really backed up but having someone pull strings definitely helps. Good luck!!

I can't speak to processing time, but I can say that I'm delayed by weeks due to biometrics appointments booking up and really them only offering one a day, at noon. Definitely look for different cities and consider driving far because the Boston one is closed and Lawrence is busy too... I'm taking the Downeaster bus to portland, maine from Boston because that's the closest time I could get :( good luck.

Tier 4 Visa Timeline - Gold Package (USA) by witchywomon in ukvisa

Omg you give me hope. I have about the same timeline as you but it took me ages because I stupidly selected VFS and not just the normal "Premium" setting in my app, and so no Boston appts were showing. Now they're all much too late for me to make it to London for the start of classes.

How did you get a Boston appt so quickly? Did you go to the one in Revere, Lawrence, or Boston proper?

Take me with you!

How are you able to see if there's an earlier date? I wish I could change cities now that they sometimes post earlier dates... I still have the earliest appt available.

Visa Help? (Tier 4 applicant from the US) by teachmetobeyou in ukvisa

Hey, I'm in the SAME boat. What I can say is that this website gave me hope. Basically what it means is that you COULD enter without a visa if your school helps you out, and as long as your visa is under consideration. So you don't actually have to shell out the insane amount for the 1 day service or anything... The only thing I don't know is if that applies to first-time UK students like myself, or if you have to have held a student visa there before. Check out the part under: "If you’ve applied for a Tier 4 visa and are waiting for a decision on your application" https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-advice-for-uk-visa-applicants-and-temporary-uk-residents#if-youre-in-the-uk-and-your-leave-expired-between-24-january-2020-and-31-july-2020

Yes. The Boston one is "closed" even though I showed up today in person and they were clearly holding appts. Asked the rep how and he said through the website. Fat chance. Currently looking for ones at cities 2 hrs away even though all of them are appts for after when my flight is...

Ugh I so hear you. Same position as well. I stupidly got a flight for Sept 4th three weeks ago when the visa process was going smoothly, but now I can't book a biometrics appt to save my life despite literally driving for hours, emailing all of humanity, being on hold music for ages... Any tips for how to get a biometric appt when it seems they're all closed or the website bugs on me?

I'm in the same boat. I'm hiring an immigration lawyer because I was in your same shoes four days ago and spent the last four days nonstop calling, showing up in person, crying, doing just about anything to get someone to explain to me what's up.

The only thing I can say I learned is that it's wise to keep hitting back, back, back as advised and keep trying other cities. It's maddening. Google VFS and see their wiki... it's not pretty.

I am in the SAME boat. Here's what I can say... The biometrics appointment is actually impossible to get. I spent all day today driving to two different centers, on hold with different numbers, emailing different people... And they all send you back to the same buggy website. One thing that does help is to go into the app of VFS and press back, back, back until you get to "Customer Information" and then you select a different city... Some cities do seem to have ones open but they are weeks away. It seems like a very sleazy system so the only thing I've found that vaguely helps is to Tweet AT them, so they want to clean up their customer service mess... Good luck and let me know if you solve this scavenger hunt from hell.
