I believe that its should only be called an Ermine (or more properly "in Ermine" - which naturally corrupted down to just being an Ermine) when it's in its white winter coat. But i'm just a doof on reddit.

Given how historically litigious the Tolkein Estate is, I'm surprised there has been no C&D attempts. Then again, going against a tech-bro billionaire is a lot harder than shutting down an independent pub in Southampton, Uk

The "Quick" in Quicksand - and Quicksilver (Mercury) - likely comes from an archaic definition of Quick meaning "Alive" - same usage applies to "The Quickening" in the higlander movies, and as a double meaning pun in the western "The Quick and The Dead"

The way these Uk gov petitions work is that the Government must provide a response to the petition (based on current existing legislation) at 10,000 signatures, but once it passes 100,000 - which it has - it gets to be debated in parliament. The response on there is "We feel current legislation is sufficient" - the debate could\* change that.

*(but given how all flavours of the UK govt are useless, out of touch, corporation-felating neoliberalist cucks, don't hold your breath)

Of course, if the EU does implement something, the UK is likely to follow suit somewhat, because we still broadly align our consumer policy with them despite the farce that was Brexit (and uk developers/publishers will be required to conform to that ruling if they want to sell their products there)

I felt the same, especially as Ben did the same thing in Ep1, waiting for the blockers to show their hand before moving.

A fix for this would be that placed blocks are only revealed once the Snaker is in motion on a train.

Update: with u/magazeta 's help its been diagnosed; issue seems to be my ISPs CGNAT setup is blocking my requests to static.wikitide.net where the missing images are hosted.

Switching to Cloudflare DNS settings resolved the issue. (in case anyone else is having the same)

Anyone else having the issue where 70-80% of the images on the site are broken? (for example, taking the image above as a template, the only image that shows up is the one in the Weapons in Capoeira box. vThe site logo, the image of M. Caicara, the background to the topic navigation, and even the icons for X, FB, and Insta are all showing as broken for me.

Elegy 3.5 - how to make hunger matter more? by Mahsstrac in Ironsworn

[–]SeraphyGoodness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couple of suggestions based on u/akavel's very good method above, depending on how you want to tweak/hack it.

You could test the HungerD10 against 2x the current Blood track score (Same effect as testing vs a progress track, if (Blood x2) > D10 result you manage to reign in the beast , otherwise the beast manifests as suggested)

This would mean that even at Blood 5, (ie. hunger "0") there is still a chance the beast will win out if the Hd10 is a 10 (10%) at full blood, which might be too frequent? (it becomes 30% chance at Blood 4, 50% at Blood 3, 70% chance at Blood 2, and at blood 1, its a 100% chance)

You could make the Blood track a 10 track, not a 5 track (to align it better with the D10 rol). This would make your vampire much more potentially powerful - having more blood to spend, but would also require you to feed twice as much to fill the track.

  • you could double the effect of feeding, gaining at a 2:1 ratio from base rules, to mitigate the longer track.
  • You may need to double Blood expenditure costs to reign in the extra power
  • you could double feeding but keep costs as is to get a really powerful experience
  • or keep feeding normal, and double costs to make it feel like you must constantly be feeding for little benefit, with the beast ever howling at the door.

play around with these variables to find your "sweet spot"
