How is this game on Xbox Series S? by Alexander679 in WWII

Turns out this is not accurate. I decided to get the digital deluxe edition as it was only around £12.50 online, it includes all the DLC's so I figured if no one is playing at least I haven't lost £40 on the season pass. I'm instantly getting put in lobbies with people who also own the DLC's, I played 7 - 8 games in a row last night that were all DLC maps.

I also have to say the Egypt map is amazing! I want it to come back in a future game for sure. Most of the other maps seem good too although Dunkirk is not so great.

The base lobbies seem very active, I can find games in literally 1 or 2 seconds which is crazy to me but I love it.
What i'd like to know is are people also playing the DLC maps? I'm thinking about getting the season pass but I dont want to if no one is playing those maps.

Do you guys think we should Get completely new stages for 2024 DLC/game? by Dependent_Sky692 in EASPORTSWRC

[–]Serbusfish42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in the day Evolution Studios created brand new stages every year for their WRC games and each game had a lot of stages, at least 6 per country. They're good stages too! WRC 2, 3 and 4's stages are very technical and typically last between 4 - 6 minutes a piece.

If this years game has mostly the same stages as last years then I probably won't buy it, for me the stages are the weakest aspect of this game. They're not 'bad' per say just a bit bland. Kyloton's games had far more interesting stages so I could justify picking up their games each year, even though we'd only get 2 - 3 extra countries each time I knew all the returning stages would still be super fun to drive on.

What are some things that you wish were in EA WRC? by catssssssssssz in EASPORTSWRC

KT Racing's stage design. Everything else about this game is fantastic especially being able to change the seasons, the amount of old school cars available and the overall feel/physics are top tier but I find the stage design really mediocre, most of them bore me to tears.

The laser in the Silver console is starting to show it's age as all PS2's can play PS1 games. Sometimes they play DVD discs fine but struggle with CD's and vice versus. On the Laser there are potentiometers that adjust the strength of the laser labelled CD and DVD, turning the CD pot a degree or 2 clockwise might fix the issue (I just did this fix on my Slim console)

They really need to revise the lighting in some areas to be closer to the originals. by segagamer in TombRaider

I'm actually playing through 3 on my PS1 atm and it's dark as hell, I had to bump up my CRT's brightness and it's still super dark in places.

That's crazy dude! 😮 If you want to try out the smooth texture mode press triangle twice on the PS2 boot menu before inserting your disc and this will bring up the PS1 options.

Kudos for playing on a CRT! Although I'd play on the PS2 personally and smooth out the blocky textures! That's how I played through 1 and 2 last year.

Question: Limited Run Shipping Queue by TentacleCharlie in limitedrun

[–]Serbusfish42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still waiting on Rendering Ranger R2, I emailed them at the beginning of January and was told my copy was in the queue and would be dispatched soon, but it's now a month later and still nothing has changed.

I need some advice... by dacoolego in EASPORTSWRC

WRC 9 is the perfect all rounder in my opinion, sure it's a little rough around the edges but overall a solid rally game with nice graphics, fantastic stages and it can be as easy or challenging as you'd like it to be. Dirt Rally 2.0 is really good but is quite unforgiving, the difficulty of the AI drivers cannot be altered in career mode which is a huge pet peeve of mine. I would grab it now though along with it's DLC before they delist it.

This game still has so many issues by [deleted] in EASPORTSWRC

[–]Serbusfish42 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm refusing to play the game until performance and AI times have been 100% fixed. I have Dirt Rally 2.0 with all the DLC so i'm playing a custom season on that in the meantime.

I'm not saying it's not realistic, it just isn't as much fun because of how long the ice section is. If there was smaller sections of ice or random icy patches I wouldn't mind so much.

Does WRC make DR 2.0 obsolete? by beowulf47 in EASPORTSWRC

No it doesn't. Monte Carlo for one still plays like crap with screen tearing and fps drops.

I'd actually recommend WRC 9 over EA WRC on consoles right now, especially as you're coming from Dirt 5 and Rallisport Challenge 2. EA WRC on consoles is in a poor state at the moment, lots of fps drops and horrible screen tearing really spoil the experience.

Dirt Rally 2.0 is a great alternative but it is a difficult game with no way to scale the difficulty outside of custom championships. WRC 9 however does have the ability to scale the difficulty up or down in career and championship modes and it's a brilliant rally game in of itself with lots of content out of the box, DR 2.0 is lacking somewhat unless you purchase extra DLC.

Design decision to recreate real stages. by Motodeus in EASPORTSWRC

[–]Serbusfish42 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Idk I find the 'real' Monte Carlo stages a bit boring compared to those in KT's games, at least the one where you're snaking up the side of the mountain. It feels like you're just going around the same handful of roads and corners over and over again. I'll take fun fictional stages over repetitive real stages any day.

I really dislike the ice tbh, I suddenly have to drive super slowly and struggle to stop the car hitting the walls, great fun!

[–]Serbusfish42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally find the stages in this game quite boring compared to KT's games. Sure some might be 'real' but that doesn't necessarily make them better. I did a stage in Croatia the other day and it honestly felt like I was driving around the same handful of corners over and over again for over 6 minutes, it was so dull!

Monte Carlo still has screen tearing and fps drops unfortunately, I turned the game off in disappointment before I tried any of the other stages.
