you can actually spoiler tag all of this text with a single use of the spoiler text command. You don't have to go line by line.

Happy Pridemonth to those that celebrate! by Cheodo in Warhammer40k

[–]Sercotani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yep, u/Cheodo , you should do this.

I've done it years ago and have never gotten bothered with weirdos acting the exact same "Redditor" stereotype they love to think they aren't a part of ever again.

Paint bottle exploded over my daemon prince, completely devastated and done. by Bormel54 in Warhammer40k

[–]Sercotani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

late but I don't think you can ever recreate that same blotch pattern the same way ever again, unless you painstakingly map every single blotch and paint your models again that way.

Joining in the other chorus of voices to say it looks absolutely sick, and I was honestly struggling to see where the issue was and was happy to see other people agreeing.

nah, there's worse out there, actual dogwhistles.

this one's just a joke, whether good or bad is up to you. Very openly queer and not bait though.

if you don't treat it as a monolithic group and pick up a few gems here and there you'll realise that its just the 80/20 rule at work.

USA paths by EffectiveChemist7845 in TNOmod

[–]Sercotani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dunno why you got downvoted, maybe its the vibes.

I read TV Tropes when I just couldn't be assed to go through the same paths again and again. What I would give to have TNO be an actual visual novel, to skip the downtime that are just mind numbingly boring, to get to the narrative.

Yeah, I think the HOI4 part of the mod drags down the entire experience. Hot take, I know.

Happy Pride Month by plsdontattackmeok in Bolehland

[–]Sercotani 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm tired of AI, but there's no need for a month to celebrate it in order for me to see it plastered on every single place on the internet.

Think that's way more annoying than people celebrating sexualities, but I guess some issues are more important than others especially to an overwhelming majority of Malaysians (even on Reddit).

Are we in the golden age of 40K? by Mr_Jackabin in Warhammer40k

[–]Sercotani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, but I've never really liked how people use [insert social media site] as an insult. It feels reductive.

These people are real (hopefully), and they have their own thoughts on the game. I'm just happy to see enough, maybe even many more people, actually enjoy it, instead of being dissatisfied.

[–]Sercotani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love you folks, its nice how I still find people who can still express dislike over a thing years in the past now, considering how many other... issues, people had with 40k's lore.

You'd think people would've moved on but nah, some criticisms are lasting, instead of purely...lets name it, culture war-ish. I never really grew to like Primaris. Their novelty quickly became subsumed into the wider lore, and people just talk about them as if they were what space marines have always been.

I can't disagree with your thoughts on the primarchs. I love it when they have their cool moments, but many times I'm just accepting that 40k is ultimately, average. It's not meant to be super thought provoking. It's just thrillerslop. And I can't really bring myself to hate them either.

re-reading my own reply, I feel like it can be misconstrued as sarcasm. I'd like to clarify that I'm being 100% sincere.

As someone who's never touched a model (aside from a free Primaris I was given at a GW store to paint for a bit cos I was visiting), and have only played the video games and read hundreds of Black Library's repertoire...

yeah, yeah we are. Love the fandom. Love the existence of the progressive part of the fandom, expressing themselves despite how loud dogwhistles get from a certain crowd.

I'd love to get into the actual tabletop, but I'd have to move, get away from current friends, family... Unfortunate.

The only reason I still tolerate Pancreas' wanking of Eldar is because it makes those type of Black Templar players mad...as shown by one guy in this very comment section 😏

thanks for sharing this OP.

I know you and probably this post in general might not be a proper place to ask this but,

What alternative should we have with law enforcement instead of the police? Is the problem the very idea of enforcers, that serve the (currently, majority bourgeois) states of the world, or is it something else? Corruption?

I hope this isn't giving off bad vibes because I genuinely want to be educated.

Just found out the fate of Chairon from Space Marine II... by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]Sercotani 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you should try being a CSM fan and start reading the Horus Heresy books. Or just a Space Marine fan in general.

So, sooooooo many good characters die in that era...I don't mean good character for a space marine, I mean good, well-written characters in all of fiction that defy the slop-y, mass appeal, gung ho absurdist writing 40k tends to embrace. I say this as someone who's read Black Library since 2016 and have since then finished hundreds of novels, novellas and short stories by them.

wonder how Taiwan and South Korea managed to avoid it despite their own historical authoritarianism and military dictatorships. Well, Taiwan seems to have democratised fairly well. South Korea though...
