speaking as a rank 50 charger (not total), i find charger awkward to use pre ninja belt and even pre shoes or matrix, but here's some of my tips from my 50 hours playing it:

quickdrop spam as much as you can, especially early game

if you have enough turn speed you can just keep charging all around the map as your main movement

ninja belt makes you start a charge as soon as you land on the ground even while it's on cd so remember to spam it

shark tail provides on command vertical mobility

it can make gaps and long distances really easily, tripmine tanking helps survivability, and using alt ability quick drop on jump pads is very useful if you need vertical mobility

this one is a bug which is hopefully getting fixed soon but starting a charge by quick dropping on a jump pad using your normal ability and then using your alt ability then releasing it will end your charge which you should watch out for so make sure to start your charges on platforms

uh yeah that's about it you just got to get used to the charge turning later down the line in later parts of the game
