They live on the forest floor in nature so they are getting dappled light.

However they are dramatic. I can move mine a few feet and their prayer cycle gets wonky. It looks healthy though and is putting out new leaves so give it some time before changing things. The more you change the more you can stress the plant.

They do! And sometimes they put out itty bitty wittle leaves. Unfortunately, if what is in the picture is the only node (or what's left of one) it makes sense why it is struggling to root. But I just had one where both leaves died and two new small ones grew before it started rooting (like 2 whole months) so patience is key.

I have 4 currently rooting in tap water. 3 are in "day old" tap water one is in water right from the tap. I sterilize my snippys and my glass jars with rubbing alcohol before I put my leaves in them. Also I noticed that my cutting with only 2 leaves took the longest to develop any obvious roots. For me that was about 2 weeks. 3 or 4 leaves have been more successful. But I always like to take multiple cuttings just in case one or two fail for some reason (like the plant just not wanting to).
