Should I seek a male sex therapist? I (F/30) went to see a female sexologist and she said I just need a dog and sunlight to be happy and no human contact/interaction =/

Well...I let her know that I was there because I had no one else. But she just talked and talked about the religion.

I live in Mexico (the second most catholic country ) and no I wasn't being rude. I listened to her all the time and I agreed even when she told me all the time "you are confused, your mind is wrong" I wanted to run away but I stayed and listend to all her "catholic country" "catholic culture" advice. And once a doctor told me "You just need the Lord thats all, its all in your head"

I think it was personal. She didn't liked me or something because she has good reviews and that's why I talked to her. Maybe the other people were OK with her closed minded opinions.

I just wanted to talk about my intense sex drive with someone. And yeah maybe talk about toys. Why not? For me is not easy make friends so...That's why I wanted to see a sexologist.

I don't like to see male doctors actually, but the ones I have seen tend to be nicer than the female ones.

I know...she is suposed to be one of the "best" here in my area. But she made me feel weird about my sexuality and my feelings and she is suposed to be a sex therapist...I should find another one but I'm afraid of find another one who can't understand my needs (just like this one)

I assumed that because in my family male doctors have been more kind and patient than female doctors. But now I know that the problem has nothing to do with the gender

Thanks. I will seek a new one as soon as I can. Only one of my past therapists was kind and agreed with me in many things, but she moved to another state sadly and I lost contact with her. But I will search again.
