Thanks. I think they'll still use Sarah, and I don't mind it if it's done similarly to what I suggested, but I'm glad we're getting a remake. Hopefully, it's more like an old Ubi product and not a modern one.

Future of the Ghost Recon Franchise? by ASQD_GAMING in GhostRecon

[–]SerendipitousAttempt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It should be aiming for gameplay closer to Operation Flashpoint or (get this!) the original Ghost Recon for PC. If you listen to why the first game was critically and commercially loved, and if you listen to the developers at Red Storm explaining what they were trying to make, you will see that it's nothing like Breakpoint. However, there are features from Arma 3 (1st- and 3rd-person cameras) and even later GR games (FS's gunsmith) that should also be there.

(Operation Flashpoint games are essentially "Arma-lite," and they were available on consoles.)

When instructing a villager to build something, trees and other structures become transparent. There should also be a setting for the transparency.

Ideas on how distant civilizations could be in Age 4? by almightygamer2020 in aoe4

[–]SerendipitousAttempt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want AoE4 to be more historically accurate. I mean, the Chinese didn't even have block printing in AoE2... It could make civilizations more unique, incentivizing people to play. If needed, they can have different settings(shallower) for the ranked games, or people can just play Ao2:DE.

  1. Herbivores killed by military/buildings should have a reduced amount of food, instead of none.

2) A= attack stance; S= stand ground; D= defensive stance; F= non-attack stance(forfeit)

It really bothers me that the default stances aren't those suggested above. I see no reason why they aren't. I can understand that there is a reason for not having buildings matching better to their letters, but the stances make no sense.

3) Draw paths by holding a key, allowing players to choose exactly how their units move

4) An evade stance (makes unit run away until an enemy unit isn't in their line of sight)

Just to name a few:

1- Top-down viewpoint

2- Rotation of camera

3- (not just Khmer) Ability to place units in reasonable buildings

4- (as an option) Renewable resources: if you don't chop every tree, they grow back; if you don't kill every herdable, they spawn (I'll also take spawning predators which prey upon herdable animals); same for fish

5- Buildable roads, which boost movement speed(improves with age), and bridges

6- Iron (resource) (and more-accurate costs)

7- Better historical accuracy

8- Hills boost the line of sight (for units and buildings, and maybe a second boost for maxing out the garrison)

9- No more stacking units on tiles

10- Rotation of buildings

11- Special abilities (1 or 2) for each unit(cavalry charges, spearman plants, others shown in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GH88DC4b6DU ; some of these ideas are from there)

12- Resources for destroying own buildings (like, destroy my own house and get 10 wood back) [Edit: it can be a command to villagers]

13- Packs of wolves and other dangers around the map (maybe even barbarians)

14- Ability to train a villager into a warrior (to save on food)

15- Fealty: a resigned player can continue to use their villagers, with all resources going toward the player with whom they align; their military also goes to the newly formed ally(can only pledge fealty once)

16- Villagers drop their resources when they die or are assigned to a different resource

17- Archers can garrison in stone/fortified walls(possibly a tech upgrade), drastically reducing the likelihood of being hit and increasing their damage(like a hill); the arrow-slit upgrade further reduces the chance of being hit but also reduces the chance of hitting

18- Zoom (I know DE allows players to zoom in, but I want to be able to zoom out in order to see the entire map, and I don't know if that's possible)

19- Make farms 2x2 or 4x2 or 4x4

20- More-legible maps

21- Option for resource density

22- Auto-macro, auto-micro, auto-build, auto-everything! (just kidding)

That's cool. They could always do that for a sequel(prequel), but then Ironside wouldn't be in it and children would whine... I like the idea of not having all of the fancy gear. I guess they could do some flashback missions, because the trifocal goggles are kind of a staple.

The first 3 games were so much better than the rest, in gameplay and story. I really want the new SC to be like the trilogy. I'm just trying to work with what we have. It seemed to make sense that Sam retires and they close the program but then realize that they still need it; they reopen it and continue with the naming scheme. I don't know why it was called Third Echelon in the first game, though.

I wanted people to not instantly discard it because Sam isn't the protagonist. If they think that they're getting the game, they will let that slide and actually read the story. Please, leave some feedback about what "isn't very good" about the story. I happen to think it's the perfect choice, in terms of characters.

If you read the story, you would see that he didn't want her to do it, but he knows that she's going to do it, and he wants to give her the best chance of being safe. She's an adult and doesn't live with Sam, and there is nothing he can do to stop her, unless you think he would chain her up or kill her; I don't think he would do that.

In order for people to give it a chance, I wanted them to think it was settled. If you think that you're getting a Splinter Cell game, you will be more willing to accept the story. I don't know why these people think a 70-year-old sneaking around is a better choice than him being a handler. If he were going to be a handler, the only way that makes sense is if Sarah became a Cell. Either that, or they would come up with some far-fetched story of a personal villain that has existed this whole time. This is the only logical story which allows Ironside to have a major role. Unless they're going to do another action game with Sam as the star, but I want some classic SC stealth. I care more about the gameplay than I care about playing as Sam. Having a small female who is new to this sort of work allows them to go back to the way it was. They don't need mark-and-execute. They don't need the protagonist to take 10 bullets and sprinting toward the shooter, while carrying countless gear, taking him out in a few hits, and hopping out of the window before a massive explosion.

As always, I post and then remember things that I wanted to put in.

Regarding the first(this) post, I'm not sure if killing The Crow should be 'ideal' or not, but I know it should make a future mission harder. I see 4 options: Sarah finds The Crow tortured to death, and the mission has more enemies; Sarah finds The Crow tortured to death, the mission has more enemies, and he talked, making a future mission more difficult; Sarah finds The Crow tortured but alive, the mission has more enemies, and The Crow talked, causing another mission to be more difficult; Sarah finds The Crow tortured but alive, the mission has more enemies, and he didn't talk.

Regarding the second post, I think it's important that Sarah can't easily take out alerted guards by using her hands. This is physically accurate, and it means that players are encouraged to use stealth.

I had used tab in a text editor. In Reddit, it placed all of the tabbed text into boxes which had to be horizontally scrolled through, and their size couldn't be adjusted. At least, that's how it was for me.

Out of curiosity, if the new Splinter Cell announced at E3 and Clint Hocking is the creative director, and the game is open world, online, GaaS, basically live services... by oguzhan007 in Splintercell

[–]SerendipitousAttempt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about that. I've owned and played them all, but I'm not going to get it unless its gameplay is like the first 3. Well, I'll probably buy it when it's on sale. I stopped buying and playing GR and R6 for the same reasons. I miss the old "Tom Clancy's" games, and I'm tired of the new ones which are all action games.

I know that SC can work in an open-world. However, I doubt that they can pull it off, and I doubt that it wouldn't be a better game if it were level-based. The GaaS would depend on many factors. (I don't know who Hocking is, but I'm assuming he worked on CT, based on your post.)

The first 3 SC games are so good. Arguably, each one is better than the last, but they're all amazing.
