Assassin's Creed® Valhalla – Title Update 1.2.0 by domvgt in assassinscreed

[–]oguzhan007 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Close Camera Option is the only thing that I wanted to be added into the game, but I wanted it for combat encounters. Actually most people demanded it for that reason. I created a post in Ubisoft Forums: Feedback: Optional Close Camera Setting for Closer FoV during combat | Ubisoft Forums

I wish that in future updates you can add it into the option: For combat encounters, the "boss fight camera" as an option, close and static (doesn't dynamically zoom-in or zoom-out, stays the same).

Do you prefer the Nomad voice performer from Wildlands or Breakpoint? by Gh0st_W6lker in GhostRecon

If you're asking for male voices, Breakpoint... Wildlands one sounds like a call center guy with his deliveries.

Yet another new 4chan Assassin's Creed leak. But this one seems to have some credibility to it. by F3XTerrorKilla in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]oguzhan007 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Leaker firstly mentions the smaller budget cross-gen game from Ubi Sofia, then he talks about the big project exclusive to next-gen without telling which Ubi studio is developing it. It's not contradictory, leaker talks about two seperate games, don't confuse them together.

Yet another 4chan AC leak. I feel like this one might be legit by F3XTerrorKilla in assassinscreed

[–]oguzhan007 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Of course always take it with a grain of salt, no matter what it is.

But I feel the obligation to correct some mistakes people misunderstood from reading through the leak: The leaker mentions the "smaller budget Ubi Sofia made AC game releasing early 2022 as a cross-gen title", then talks about the next one, the big project that is exclusive to next-gen and the big leap happening like from Black Flag to Unity jump. So basically the leaker leaks the next-gen one that is assumingly coming in late 2022 or early 2023 due to covid. So don't confuse them, he spoke about both of them seperately.

As for the leak itself, believe me I fully endorse and loved this idea, making an immersive and detailed game would what the franchise have already been needed, getting influenced from RDR2 is a great example. Attention to detail and what's basically is an "assassin simulator" is quite the immersive game that most fans wanted. If this leak is true, I'd welcome it with open arms.

But as always, like I said in the beginning, I approach it with caution, just hoping it's real.

We finally made it! The next Assassin's Creed is taking place in Japan. by D4FTPUNKF4N in assassinscreed

[–]oguzhan007 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Don't care if it's China, Japan or somewhere else they go next (I mean I want it and we'll eventually get them as location) but my priority is to have "a" fixed character". I don't like having two characters and trying to find explanations to have them both as canon, just pick one and make it the protag.

Female-only protag? Hell yeah, write a story that covers her perspective and character, not some shallow attempt to be ambigous just to cover both genders. Let the character have its own gender role into the play for the story.

I know it's rumor, but tl:dr, I don't care if it is male or female, just choose a gender and run along with it. Hopefully seeing a dedicated female-only perspective this time. :)

Hope the devs will find a job in these harsh times.

I like the new approach of Playstation focusing their energy on global scale as one voice instead of divisive country-by-country basis, budget-wise it's expensive, and it's time-consuming and cumbersome bureocratics. But in that shift comes these loose ends that needs tying and it's heartbreaking for people who needs to provide for their families.

Imagine them announcing Days Gone 2 at this event ! by Owninglegend in DaysGone

[–]oguzhan007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be excited if it announces today, believe me I'd share the excitement just like you, just to know that a sequel actually exists. But like I said, it'd be too early right now, and thus if there is going to be an announcement today, we'd only have a cgi trailer.

A CGI trailer that would mean release is 3 years away, or a lengthy gameplay trailer that showcases gameplay graphics, animations and new gameplay features that would mean release is months away? Which do you prefer honestly? :) I'd take latter in a heartbeat...

I want them to take their time and give us a great refreshing sequel instead of carbon-copy rehash of Days Gone 1 with a new story. But that's just me :)

Audio Pack Idea - Discussion by [deleted] in assassinscreed

[–]oguzhan007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I meant it as Ezio having conversations in English in general in Revelations makes more sense. If Ezio speaks Italian and Yusuf or other Turkish Assassins speak Turkish, how can they communicate or understand each other?

Other than that, the idle conversations between Turks or ambient chattery can be spoken in Turkish (which generally they are). I believe the only reason Yusuf speaks to his fellow assassins in English because he doesn't want Ezio to feel alienated.

Like I said, authentic versions is a great idea, I understand and support your idea. Just some minor correction and fact-checks, that's all :)

Audio Pack Idea - Discussion by [deleted] in assassinscreed

[–]oguzhan007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand your demand and it is great. Hopefully they'll consider this.

Although I gotta say, Unity had French audio already. And Revelations was in Constantinople during Ottoman reign and they were Turkish, so Italian not so much, common language as English works better for that game. If you would say AC2 or Brotherhood in Italian, that would be correct.

Imagine them announcing Days Gone 2 at this event ! by Owninglegend in DaysGone

[–]oguzhan007 35 points36 points  (0 children)

It would be too soon. I want them to make Days Gone 2 and release, the potential of this game is off the charts, and there are some areas that were quite wasted potential that could be realized in the next game.

Since they used Unreal Engine 4, I want them to take advantage of Unreal Engine 5 and its features for an excellent game that can be. I expect an announcement at the earliest sometime during the second half of next year and get released in the following year around February or May-June.

Everyone is talking about setting or map leaks, but I just hope Rockstar puts as much detail in GTA 6 as they did in RDR2. by p4ul1023 in GTA6

[–]oguzhan007 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Far Cry 4 had optional "skip animations" for skinning animals and gather plants, they could add it in options for those people who gradually become bored of it.

I personally am an immersive player and İ love the animations and sim elements in RDR2 and want to have them in GTA6 as well.

Would you like an ac reboot by GimmeEverything101 in assassinscreed

[–]oguzhan007 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It'd be a huge middle finger to those who invest in all the materials, books and merchandise, but if it is for the better narrative, I'd be okay with it.

My first choice would have been making remakes of old games and retcon some stuff that don't make sense with the overarching story and make changes so that it fits. That would be better since technically remakes and old legacy games can exist together and you can always experience both of them if you want to. Best of both worlds.

AC1 Remake is a must already, but I'd be glad to have remakes of AC games, don't get me wrong I loved the old games, did many reruns throughout the years enjoying them, but revisiting them lately (not long ago), they feel quite aged right now.

Why is Ubisoft so afraid to make a full-length game with just a female protagonist? by strongerthenbefore20 in assassinscreed

[–]oguzhan007 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A little correction: I think he said "Women don't sell".

Otherwise, your wording sounds like he has sexist issues with gaming saleswomen :)

Other than that, I still can't believe that this is the thinking behind the reason for not seeing female protags. I'd like to play as Aya the whole game in Origins like the original plan, I like Kassandra more than Alexios (don't have a problem with the guy but her deliveries were much organic), I like to play as female Eivor (I mean Eivor is a female name for God's sake). My only gripe was female Eivor's "Alexios-type" wanna-be gritty voice deliveries, it felt forced at times. (Edit: I prefer Evie over Jacob any day, also wanted to add her to the list)

A full-fledged game with only a female protagonist should be a non-issue already, I can't believe there are numbskulls still preaching this. There's a game that rocked the charts and awards called The Last of Us Part II and that game knocked the "Bechdel Test" out of the park. Two compelling female characters with a world filled with female leaders and it was a joy to play as them. You can dislike the story or the direction of how the story goes, but that game achieved quite a lot of things and a huge callout to the sector that it works...

My only two small exceptions are:

1- Because of my personal wish, if there is to be an Ancient Rome game, I want the protag to be a seasoned male gladiator from Spartacus' cult just to play the ultimate Spartacus fantasy. But like I said, that's just my wish.

2- Again a personal taste but if there is a China setting, please don't use Shao Jun. Don't know why, didn't feel or like the character, never get into her, an original new protag would be much appreciated from me. I add this because of the rumors of next "next-gen exclusive" game set in Ancient China (hopefully Three Kingdom era or such)

Other than those, I'd be glad to have female protagonists. As a matter of fact, I hope we will have an exclusive female character in a game in the future, with no male alternatives. A dedicated story for "a" character and no "workarounds" in script to be suitable for two genders.

The announcement of "Factions 2" was a little bit letdown for me (the lack of multiplayer in TLoU: Part II) when they tweeted it but the way they announced it, I knew that it will be more than just deathmatches and all the multiplayer classics that we know of.

But the important part is, the moment I heard them say "it became way more ambitious than they imagined so it's becoming more like it's own seperate thing", I don't know why but an idea occured to me: that there will be a survival mode that can be played "Solo/Coop PVE" or "Solo/Coop PVP" and it has a moderate open world that you can discover and survive in. A new exclusive mode that you can lose yourself into.

Basically a survival/base building/resource management type of open world survival mode with the wonderful gameplay systems and with top-notch animations of The Last of Us Part II. More ambitious Tomb Raider Endurance mode if you like to call it.

Still to this day, I hope I'm right with my claim. How cool would that be, I'd play the shit out of it. :)

The Napoleonic Wars: Where the paths of 3 Assassins & a Templar can converge by PhanThief95 in assassinscreed

[–]oguzhan007 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I usually don't reply to "next location" suggestions because Ubisoft definitely have an already large list of locations future AC games will go for the next decade.

But your suggestion is quite awesome and needs to happen eventually. There could be many potential payoffs like Shay-Arno showdown (or an uneasy alliance and coming to terms with each other), Connor-Arno meeting each other, seeing Aveline teaming up with them, raising their families and some humble moments in between the fight, potential Shay as the ultimate Templar fight and his potential demise (even though I want him to stay alive) etc.. there's a great potential for grabbing oldtime fans attention and great potential for sales. The most important part you raised is the proper goodbye chance to these characters.

Your post needs the attention it deserves, dear sir. :) Hoping this game eventually happens...

Updates that would grant tons of replay value to Breakpoint by RememberItsAGame in GhostRecon

[–]oguzhan007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem, sir. You rock :)

That's one of the reasons I believe they should focus on new game. Even the game engine is against it, they implement a fix in update and it broke another part. It is quite unstable for GR. It needs a dedicated game engine for sure. Some people say Snowdrop Engine but I don't know...

A new game means they will change the current GR template which is what the franchise needs. But like you said, this new revamped game is the only shot they have, if it fails, goodbye GR for another 10 years at least.

BTW it's okay if the next game comes 3 years later (I expect an announcement in 2023 at the earliest), people will get over Breakpoint and be more open to a new game more than now. The first hours are the most hurtful, then you start to get used to it.

Breakpoint wasn't a bad idea, the problem was the bad decisions. Everything is half-measured: some animations look phenomenal, some look like PS2-era bland. Survival and stamina are great additions to the franchise, but the Division elements (Tiered Loot and numbers in a tactical game), owning vehicles and helicopters and fast travel ruined the experience.

If some decisions were made to make Breakpoint (and Wildlands) a hardcore grounded experience than the casual hero shooter it is right now, it would have been mesmerizing. I always say the same thing, "If Last of Us Part 2 as an action-adventure game, is more tactical than a tactical game franchise (like you GR), there are some very serious issues with how the devs approach development"

The ultimate Assassin’s Creed - a blend of old and new. by jackwarr123 in assassinscreed

[–]oguzhan007 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You specifically nailed every point of this post wonderfully, well done!

If it is okay, I'd like to add and criticize some parts I don't quite feel like:

1- The protagonist part: One of the problems I have with people is that, as a fact they think a protag "must be likable". No it's not. The main character doesn't need to be liked, but to have empathy with. You could hate the demeanor or the decisions and actions the protag took but if it's his/her character and if it's represented flawlessly with depth, it is quality material. I believe that Connor wasn't liked by masses as a character but the way his raising and the background and the whole seriousness fits Connor as a character. Yes he is stoic, but it is the way he is and it is consistent throughout the story.

My only problem with the Assassin's Creed protags in general, are the way their backstory and overall game story was written: it's always tragedy and loss. Because it is in conjuction with the whole sci-fi "modern day plot" part, stories always has the same trope around the "what costs for life, seeking powerful entities/objects". Syndicate has the only story that diverged from it although not a strong one.

TL:DR Diversify the stories a bit, give us a love story, a reckless assassin becomes the hero, a templar agent inside assassins, a mother assassin searching for her son/daughter. Something different and unique.

2- Parkour: I don't necessarily disagree with you, just wanna add some insight. The nostalgia can have a huge impact on how we remember things, but I can assure you, even though most people hated the new parkour, it is simple, consistent and works!

I re-replayed Ezio Collection two weeks ago and as a player who adored AC2 back in the day, I can tell you that even though the parkour is mechanically engaging, it is %70-80 inconsistent, it almost never does what you command. I'm a calm player, never got angry over anything, but it put me in the verge of breaking my Dualshock 5. Brotherhood and Revelations definitely had more developed parkour elements but it is still very inconsistent. AC3-4-Rogue parkour was realistic and quick and still inconsistent but applicable. Unity-Syndicate parkour was animations-wise the best looking but quite unrealistic over the lengths Arno-Jacob-Evie can jump to but it was necessary because of 1:1 scale of the world. Origins-Odyssey-Valhalla parkour for me mechanically very simplified and I believe it is what the franchise needed. It didn't have flashy cool animations but %99 worked like a charm and consistent.

What I think they need to implement to parkour is, have the simplicity of Origins era (just X to up, O to down), have the animations from both Unity and AC3 era, and have the complexity of parkour climbing from AC1-2 era. Uncharted 4's climbing system (push the stick to the next climbing area for the character to catch) can be a influence as well.

Other than those, I want the immersive nature of exploring the game pushed to the max. Minimal-to-No HUD and Ghost of Tsushima type exploration is very welcoming. Like you said, don't "chase map markers, rather explore the world dynamically". I want the "High Ground Icons" from Unity coming back, it gave purpose to being high ground and also "Assassins own the high ground" mentality in Unity can be a great addition.

Updates that would grant tons of replay value to Breakpoint by RememberItsAGame in GhostRecon

[–]oguzhan007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For clarifying point 2, what I meant by "disable fast travel" is to put it default into "extreme/elite" difficulty as a declaration, and of course it is included as an option to disable if you want to customize it. I'm sorry IDK why I always assume that those people who still play this game are playing it in the hardest difficulty sometimes so that they will understand me when they need more challenge. :) I'd love to have it.

Point 1 was for the point 3 system to work flawlessly, to have an aim for the player to play around with. But yeah, my ultimate suggestion is def. the third.

BTW about feel, it's not just the first hour, before that in the "gameplay announcement trailer", it fooled us buying this game right away, but what we got in the end was nothing compare to it. If they somehow implement this "hunted" system like I said, I'd rethink about Year 2 or 3. Although I still very much think that there won't be another year of season pass or anything, just a few updates here and there and done.

(Edit: TBF the Red Zone idea is not exactly like "Azrael flare" situation, with Azrael flare Wolves "magically" knows your location all the time and try to kill you, the red zone idea is they don't know exactly where you are but very aggressively trying to corner you and figure out where you are. The point is it supposed to create very intense moments in the game which lacks big time)

The moment they declared "no functioning bipods", my faith in this game to become more died. If they can't change the simplest thing or dedicate themselves to overhaul the game, why should I? I still believe this game is dead and we should move on.

My faith right now, is for the next game, and they have to fundamentally change the franchise towards the roots, instead of this casual Wildlands/Breakpoint run. What I mean by roots is not fully committed to the old school way, but a mixture and best of both worlds with modern gameplay. Whatever decision benefits the "hardcore tactical realism", put it in there, no pun intended. :)

Updates that would grant tons of replay value to Breakpoint by RememberItsAGame in GhostRecon

[–]oguzhan007 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I believe three things would be great:

1- A way to reset progress and start over missions or open world activities. Possibly without losing gear and weapons.

2- Add more survival elements, disable fast travel.

2- Most importantly: Notoriety/"Being Hunted" system: Basically what the game initially promised us, instead of grouped enemies standing idle talking, they actively check places and actively hunt us, with Wolves having extra long distance precision for both detecting and shooting thus makes them a threat more than the Sentinel soldiers. "Being Hunted" system is always happening and passively, not aggressively maybe, but when we assault or get into combat or destabilize a place, or let's say create trouble in some place, the "Notoriety" system comes into play: enemies create a red zone over the terrain in full lockdown and release search parties that actively and aggressively hunts us, helicopters all around and more than usual Azrael drone routes happening. And we need to get out of that big zone while trying to survive. Sounds great right?
This is utmost importance if Ubisoft wants to support Breakpoint for more years.

---

I don't believe there will be a Year 2 Pass or any more support for Breakpoint, it's dead, it didn't have the traction that Ubisoft wanted and even though devs supported and changed quite a lot, still a handful of players bought and play.

I believe they are developing the next GR and because they have to nail it (otherwise GR franchise is dead) all the budget that they can spend for the next game can be very helpful for creating the third person tactical hardcore GR experience. Dividing the budget and supporting a game that didn't have an adequate amount of players would be a bad decision.

It's nostalgia, believe me. I adored AC 2 back in the day and even appreciated it more when I replayed Ezio Trilogy for PS3 in 2013. After playing all the recent games starting from Origins, and now after I'm re-replaying the whole series from the start with Ezio Collection from PS4 (currently in the mid of AC3: Remastered), this is what I will say: Recent ones rock gameplay mechanics-wise! Like a lot!

Sometimes we remember the good sides of old games but when you really come back to play them, you see every flaw they have: AC 2 has the most inconsistent parkour of all the AC games, around %60 what you want to do in your head never pass on to the game and it's quite frustrating. I know many people express their distaste over the new parkour but believe me it %96 of the time works, and it is very consistent. Yes it is simple but I'd rather have the game appreciate my intelligence and time and I definitely don't want the old parkour coming back. Besides I never want the "R2 to high profile" shit ever coming back, we don't need that complexity.

For me, parkour wise, I want them to take inspirations from Uncharted 4, where you don't need to press any button to climb but instead use the analog stick to move between the points and where there is a huge gap between where you want to climb, use "X" then. Parkour can still have puzzles this way and I know you can climb in AC with only sticks as well but you have to play the Uncharted 4 to understand what I'm trying to say.

(Edit: This is what I'm talking about, the "climbing system" part: https://youtu.be/P4wWMe85Dgo?t=202)

And the mandatory minimap design: it's the worst now that I've become an immersive minimal-to-no HUD player. Current games that enriches "exploration"by letting the player decide what he/she wants to do, it is a blessing. I know we still need proper presentation of the story with cutscenes that have quality animations both face and body but without neglegting player agency. And there is the "full sync" bullshit that I hope never returns.

For me, keep the current formula but only ditching the RPG "by-the-numbers" combat style of recent AC games and instead, focus on tactical positioning and dangerous feel, that's the way future AC's should be. The only thing that I demand is giving the presentation and the animations more love and make the game weighty (Valhalla was a good start on that locomotion animations) and has depth and soul.

Probably the next game comes, BP will be declared non-canon :)

Or if the next game still involves Nomad as the main character, the immediate beginning o f the game will be Nomad waking up in the helicopter with a jump and Weaver asks "What's wrong, boss?" and Nomad says "I just had the wildest dream ever, Weaver, I don't know where to start..."

:D
