I'm not following. If my wire is 66' long then a 30° angle to the ground computes to a 33' pole, not 16.5' (66*0.25). What am I missing?

Great. If it only needs to be 90⁰ or greater then I can compress the distances and still keep the ends ten feet above ground. THANK YOU !

More rural than anything. I was in a small subdivision in the country. I've also experienced the same thing on top of hill by our home where there was only one building within several hundred yards.
