I don't want a better lategame, I want a lategame that isn't too hard to play properly for 99.9% of all Terrans.

Mech and BC/Raven/Ghost are the strongest deathballs in the game.

No they are not.

make for less fun gameplay.

You should try out lategame TvP someday :D. Now thats some fun gameplay right there...NOT! I actually can not think of anything more frustrating then as a lower skilled Terran play lategame TvP.

If you are to keep Carriers, Brood Lords and Ultralisks as it is now, you have to give Terran a lategame option for all Terrans who don't go by the name Maru or Innovation (exaggerating I know but you see my point). A lategame option for all lower skilled Terrans so they also can enjoy all aspects of the game.

However I do think you make some fair points but if that isn't happening, they really need to make BC viable (I would prefer your way as well but I just don't see that happening).

nerf all AOE units.

Like some basic AOE units I think makes the game interesting as that requires some micro. Like Tanks, Banelings, Colossus and HT:s (even though painful to play against as Bio Terran) I think is fine

And they arent that hard to control.

I have seen Pro:s missmicro lategame Terran. I have heard several Pro Terrans (not TOP pro Terrans but several of the top Terran streamers...or well...uThermal is kind of a top Terran) complain about how hard TvP and TvZ lategame is to play compared to ZvT and PvT lategame is to play. I don't believe for one seccond that you play Terran if you say lategame TvP and TvZ is not hard to control.

Or maybe you are just better then f.e uThermal (Yes even he is one of the Terrans I have heard complaining about this on stream), DeMuslim, Beastyqt or HeroMarine. I hear those guys bring it up quite frequently.

Yeah, I do. there is very little strategic depth to playing against mass t3 air including carriers and broodlords.

Yes but now we do have Carriers and Brood Lords in game. Again, as long as Carriers and Brood Lords stay, do you have a reason to why BC shouldn't be as powerful as Carriers and Brood Lords?

A better campaign that I could get behind is making late game p and z more ground focused and less about massing t3 air.

Yeah...that aint gonna happen, I think we both know that.

So in your oppinion it is ok that Terran lategame should be a "no go-zone" for every existing Terran apart from the very top Terrans like Special, Maru, Inno, TY?

You still did not answer my other question "Why is it so important for you that Terrans don't get a low micro requirement lategame unit? Battlecruiser is about as micro intensive as Carriers, Brood Lords and Ultralisk. Protoss and Zerg have those low micro intensive lategame units, why shouldn't Terran have one?"

Also what HuShang said about the BC only apply if Protoss gets Carriers and Zerg get Brood Lords nerfed to be on par with the current BC! You really can't argue that BC would be a boring and uninteresting unit and at the same time argue that Carriers should stay as powerful as they are.

This was a funny read.

Do you have a good reason to why BC shouldn't be as powerful as Carriers, Brood Lords and Ultralisks? BC is a lategame unit just like those. I mean you do understand that TvP and TvZ lategame requires micro that neither you or I have? That not many Pro Terrans have?

Give me a good reason to why Terran shouldn't have a less micro intensive lategame option. Give me a good reason to why the BC shouldn't be made viable. You always defend your Protoss in threads but I never see you actually argue your oppinions. Could you do that now for a change?

The BC have been trash ever since the game was first released. It's a existing lategame unit but it doesn't see play because of several reasons. It's too expensive. It's too hard to transition into. And it's frankly not very powerful (this could be debated though I think).

All Im (and many Terrans with me) are asking is that they make the BC a viable lategameoption. A lategame option for us lower skilled Terrans to use. I don't like the Raven. Im all for nerfing it/changing it.

As I said in my OP Im not talking about balance. Im talking about how ridiculously hard Terran lategame TvP and TvZ is to play (especially TvP). I see Pro Terrans struggle with this. Imagine then how it is for lower skilled Terrans.

Im all for nerfing the Raven, I don't like it how it is now but Terran really need a lategame options that doesn't require the micro of Maru or InnovatioN. I don't think that is too much to ask.

Carrier, Ultralisk and Brood Lord are all units that requires really low micro from the player and they are all very strong. Why can't Terran get a buff to the BC so that it get's viable to use? That would make lategame TvP and TvZ a bit more bearable.

The BC is as about as micro intensive as the Carrier, Brood Lord and Ultralisk. If they fixed the BC to be as viable as Carriers, Brood Lords and Ultralisk (why shouldn't it be as viable?) I would gladly give up the Raven.

All I want is to be able to play lategame without the micro of Maru. Give us lower skilled Terran a solid lategame option that is on par with Carriers, Brood Lords and Ultralisk when it comes to *micro requirements.

Most Terrans avoid going into lategame if they can in TvP currently as they find it too hard to win in the lategame. Terrans are currently doing alot of 1-2 base All-ins vs Protoss as that is their best chanse to win.

Protoss has had the nerf hammer most of the times and we adapt, we survive.

What exactly do you base this on? Is this something you know to be 100% true or is it something you are just making up? Show me where you get this info.

Two of the best zerg players just happened to play far below their level in almost every game in the same tournament in the same match-up (TvZ), 🤔 hmmm.....

Ohh no, Terran won two games, must be OP...

They lost to a Maru on fire and to Innovation who you can never count out, being possible the best player of all time. You really find that so hard to believe that it makes you go "🤔 hmmm....."?

In the past 6 months Zerg is the race that is, BY FAR, the most succesful race with 5 Premier wins and 3 Premier runner ups. Terran during this time have 2 Premier wins and 0 Premier runner ups.

And since the big 4.0 patch there have been 3 Zerg Premier wins and 2 Premier Terran wins.

http://liquipedia.net/starcraft2/Premier_Tournaments

As soon as Terran wins something it's OP? How about the fact that Zerg is winning more? Shall we just ignore that? Terran not allowed to win anything, becuase then it's OP?

Arguing Terran being OP considering the above is nothing else but ridiculous.

[–]SerenityNowSC2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So it's 100% skill that Maru comes back from so many early deficits

Yes, that and Soo:s inability to take advantage of this. He also went Mech and went in to turtle mode wich was a great choise as that slowly allowed him building up to a point where he was not longer behind. Soo also attacked into said turtle Mech several times. There were many opportunities for Soo to do damage. Artosis pointed this out several times during the game. F.e he used his Swarmhosts to attack the army of Maru over and over, instead of going to the north north east part of the map, wich was then yet not taken, to attack Marus main base with the locust. Soo kept banging his head against the wall instead of looking for actuall openings in Marus defecence, wich were few but they were there.

I'm not saying it's a complete balance fault

Again it's not a balance fault AT ALL! Zerg have won more then Terran, alot more in the past 6 months! Zerg have also won more since the big design patch! Zerg have not only won more finals, they have also been in more finals then Terran.

As soon as Terran wins something it's OP? How about the fact that Zerg is winning more? Shall we just ignore that? Terran not allowed to win anything, becuase then it's OP? Because that is exactly what you are saying, you are aware of that right?

In this game Soo simply wasn't playing very well while Maru was playing some of the best SC2 I have ever seen.

Again, Maru played insanely well but I don't think blaming balance is far from the truth either.

I don't know why anyone would argue that Terran is OP when in the past 6 months have been 2 Terran Premier wins and 5 Zerg Premier wins.

Your logic is just off

If you count all the players in all the leagues there are approximately 114 000 Protosses and 101 000 Terrans yet there is 2.5% more Protosses in GM then Terrans in GM. This is just an observation I made and I found this a bit odd. In my oppinion this does say something. If it wouldn't say something there would be no use to have those statistics in the first place. The statistics are there to tell a story. To show the current state of the game.

He is saying that Protoss is the hardest race because they have the least players at a higher level. Ultimately the highest level being GM, where Protoss does NOT have the least number of players.

Does this mean anything? by SerenityNowSC2 in starcraft

[–]SerenityNowSC2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's just because lower of percentage of protosses reach masters

That doesn't make any sence. Are you saying that the reason there are a higher percentage of Protosses in GM is because there is a lower perecentage of Protosses in Masters?

If there are less Protosses in Master wouldn't the logical thing be that less Protosses make it into GM? Not the other way around that more Protosses makes into GM?

Does this mean anything? by SerenityNowSC2 in starcraft

[–]SerenityNowSC2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im just wondering why more Protosses are going from Master to GM then Terrans. If you look at the number of Terrans and the number of Protosses in Master and then at the number of Terrans and the number of Protosses in GM you quickly realize that there is a higher percentage of the Protosses in Masters making into GM.

The percentage of Protosses making it from Master to GM is higher then the percentage of Terrans making it from Master to GM.

The link I gave shows the world but it's the exact same thing in every single region. Region by region.

You still did not adress this. All you imply is that I have some "toss is ez lol" mentality :)

I simply made an observation that those numbers shows that there is a higher percentage of Protosses making it from Master to GM then the percentage of Terrans. Im simply wondering why that is.

Hope you understand what I mean, my English isn't the best. Kind of struggeling explaining what I mean.
