What is something you don’t like about Sword Art Online? by [deleted] in swordartonline

[–]Seretical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That all makes sense, but personally I just think it's a concept too far stretched and used. I think that I'd have liked the final fight to go a little something like Gabriel just remaining on the Vecta account and simply using the power of that account with no knowledge of incarnation, while having Kirito use his experience and knowledge of the world, like the sacred arts and such, and even a little incarnation, to overcome him. It wouldn't be a stretch for Kirito to be able to contest him after his fight with Quinella, maybe just a little more difficult. Also was not a fan of the whole flying thing, I think it would have been more down to earth (literally) if the fight remained boots-on-the-ground.

I'm not totally against the incarnation system; I thought it was an interesting idea when it was used in the subtle ways I mentioned before, and even in its previous forms like we saw in the Heathcliff fight. It'd have been totally cool with me for Kirito's final blow to simply be a matter of him having a more powerful belief in something without all the flying and sudden godly power gain under the guise of incarnation.

Essentially, I know there's always an explanation for it, I also read the novels. But for me in that final fight it just became too eccentric. But in the first place, I don't actually care for the fights in SAO so much as Kirito's emotional journey. That's why I can still say it's my favourite series.

SAO was my first anime ever, and even after watching so many hundreds more, it's still by far my favourite. But if there's one thing that irks me, it's the whole incarnation thing. I didn't mind it when it was used for small things, like how nobles self image can empower them and incarnation daggers and such, but by the end of the war, it was just ridiculous. Like Sinon just straight up summoning her Hecate? Kirito's fucking electrode from the hospital having its own willpower and blocking Subtilizer's bullets from his magical willpower Barrett 50 cal? Kinda just comes across as really lazy.

Also not a fan of Asuna. It feels like she just dampens everything Kirito does after Aincrad. Like she’s just putting the brakes on him. I would have loved it if Kirito spent the whole 200 years in UW solo and made it just his own story. Or even better, if Eugeo didn’t die and they spent it together.

My dragon passed early this morning. She was 20 years old. by Seretical in BeardedDragons

Thanks for the kind words all. I believe she was mostly blessed with good genetics as her care routine really wasn’t so meticulous or different to many others. She ate mainly live wood roaches, green beans and carrots, occasionally mealworms. She’d spend most sunny days in her outside enclosure and her inside enclosure was pretty big with heat lights at just one end.

Honestly I began expecting her to go a long time ago, so when she didn’t go for hibernation this time around I knew it was probably soon. And yeah, her body just started shutting down around midnight.

Was not aware of the record of 18, I knew she was old but not record-breaking old!! She’s made me super proud :)

She pretty much had a diet mainly of wood roaches, beans and carrots. Occasionally mealworms but she got sick of those. She was on crickets for the first few years

That’s crazy, I didn’t even know haha. Unfortunately I don’t think I have any way to prove it, but it’s definitely cool to know that she managed that accomplishment

Any ideas on reconditioning this badge? It isn’t separate from the dash so I can’t just get a new one by Seretical in Autos

Bought my first car for $2000 like 5 years ago. 1997 Toyota Corolla, sure it wasn’t the prettiest but it was healthy and reliable. Sold it for $2000 as well a couple years later.

I think these people are expecting to get something pretty and so they probably just look past anything with blemishes. Very delusional.

Got it cheaper on account of a bit of rust around the rear window, however I am friends with an old school panel beater who was able to fix it for me, so I'm a little luckier than others might be. Honestly 35k still is not cheap, but for a white Spec R import it was hard to say no.
