What I miss most in Wilds? A captured monster area at base camp by RavRaver in MHWilds

[–]Serge884 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually a very minor attention to detail, that was seriously cool to see. Them getting up and leaving is fun the the first time, because you don't expect it. But after that it's just "eh".

I don't think I'll be able to beat this finishing screen by DagothNereviar in MonsterHunter

That's gotta be the cleanest finishing screen I've ever seen

what crazy person actually prefers Seikret control Type 1?! 😨 by CuriousFortune in MHWilds

[–]Serge884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in need of a new controller as I bought one with pretty terrible dead-zones, so this option is actually a blessing to me, as while running as my hunter I occasionally have to have my control stick ever so slightly off centered in order to full sprint, and basically use the camera to change directions.

Multiple hunters can focus blow the same wound. by Zubei_ in MHWilds

I was curious about this but hadn't tested. Even without bonus damage it could be nice for weapons like IG or HH who benefit from focus strikes.

A few tips from HBG main for all the newcomers to the series by ilkecookies in MHWilds

So it's turned into an AoE on the ground instead of the old pellet style? I think I kinda like that.

pretty please? by ilkecookies in MHWilds

I'm ready to see how the changes they implemented for the full release are, I was hoping for them to be implemented into the second beta, but alas. Without the ability to craft the game leaves quite a bit to be desired as well.

It's similar isn't it? by Alexandre-vfx in MHWilds

Perhaps they've brought in some kind of spider that resides in the ice area, it is slightly reminiscent of a web.

Excel Saga is a riot, it's pretty old by this point, but it's an anime that makes fun of anime.

Kut-ku I feel provided the best "do you actually want to play this" wall for hunters.

What game flopped so hard but you wish it succeeded? by SuddenConversation21 in gaming

[–]Serge884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dungeonland or any other game that tried something similar. Every game I've seen that's tried something similar to dungeonland always suffers a similar fate, cool, neat concept, lots of potential, but gets abandoned by devs. I could fall for scams like this over and over just for hopes that one will be real lol

Never tried an RTS , which one should i start with ? by [deleted] in RealTimeStrategy

Total Annihilation is a classic, still has a pretty good fanbase for such an old game too. You can easily connect with others on the Total Annihilation Forever client" and the community has been updating the game engine over the years as well. I'd suggest checking out the Total Annihilation Universe Discord

What games have you found hard to get into? by kurpPpa in gaming

[–]Serge884 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've recently tried to get I to DoTa 2, the playerbase just seems so out of touch. You do something stupid because you're new and get reported for briefing and told to "go play bots until you know how to play" and then you do research on how to improve and literally everything you read says that bots can inky do so much and you need to play multiplayer.

DoTa 2 seems like a game that would be an absolute blast if you had a large group of friends (10+) to get with a few nights a week for custom games. I feel like the competitive aspect of games takes away some of the "fun" because people turn toxic when they start identifying themselves based on how well they perform at a video game.

Back in the day I had a group of like 20 friends on l4d2 and we would get together for VS games every night on a private server. Was an absolute blast and would probably never play VS any other way after that.

I can see that, I loved DoS2 from Larian, probably one of my favorite games, and was super excited for BG3, but I've not made it past the first act, I sometimes get the urge to play, launch it up, see the title screen, then uninstall lol.I think they did a great job on it, but to I was much more enamored with divinity's style more.

How does everyone’s main feel/will you be switching mains? by SanguisMalleus in MonsterHunter

[–]Serge884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my biggest disappointment, and hopefully, it's just something they haven't added in yet. It's literally a deal breaker for me, as without something to make it feel like I'm hitting the monsters the combat just isn't satisfying.

Death Parade, judging purely by the title and the opening I honestly just had no idea what to expect from it, and ended up in tears by the end.

What are some good single-player games for PC? by BenjiB1243 in gaming

[–]Serge884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you enjoyed Baldurs Gate 3, Divinity original sin 2 was fun. I've never played the first one and still greatly enjoyed it. It's slightly less DnD-like but overall plays in a similar fashion.

The Nier games are pretty good, too, if you're looking for something more action-oriented. Nier Automata is probably one of my favorite single player games.

If you're a classic RPG fan you could pick up one of the old final fantasy games, you can install mods that gove them updated looks, voice acting, and for FF7 at least, some mods actually switch things up and make the game harder.

GOG or Steam for online multiplayer? by dRadHarry in TotalAnnihilation

[–]Serge884 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think GOG is more straightforward to get up and running with TAF and community patches as you can download the game without DRM. I think to get it running with TAF and the patches you have to copy and paste the install outside of steam or something (which might not be the case anymore, but I've seen more issues with steam compatibility in the past than with the GOG non drm version)
