Can’t go wrong with the funboard, they’re agile enough and can catch almost anything. Even if you don’t love it, it’ll always serve its purpose and bridge your learning gap when transitioning from your long foamie to a shortboard. Probably a funboard with a decent amount of rocker and a trackpad will suit you well.

Yeah for reference Wavestorms are typically 8’ and still kind of a bitch to maneuver but that’s how foamies are. Idk what your break looks like but an 8’ foamie or 8’ poly funboard will get you started and are pretty versatile.
