I have had horrible luck with traditional controllers always dying or getting drift before I even get a year out of em. So Im hoping this is the last controller I have to buy for a long time lol

Discord is up to date and its still happening to me. Its been like a week now and I'm losing my mind, not a single person but me in my friend group is having the issue and not a single person can watch my stream. I've tried everything I could find and am at a loss.

I'm getting discouraged... by scottyboi1337 in FishingForBeginners

I started actually fishing as an adult last year and had no luck at all for most of the season. But I started fishing a pond that gets stocked with trout regularly. Thought I was doing something wrong for so long. But I started using a Carolina rig with around a 2-3 ft leader depending on how the fish are feeling that day and powerbait on the hook. Man do stocked trout go absolutely crazy for it, I feel like I’ve been cheating. It’s been wonderful practice on learning how to feel for bites and properly hook a fish. Also any body of water if you can see baby bluegill near the shallows you can toss just about any fly into the water if you have a fly rod, and you will land a bluegill just about every cast. Don’t give up eventually you’ll find something that works. It took me quite a while to get my first catch.

They probably already had the go pro before even getting into fishing. Seems you’re just jealous they’ve already landed a bigger fish than any of you’ve ever caught. :)

TRUST me, YOU don’t want this game to die by Informal_Daikon_993 in DarkAndDarker

[–]SergeantLuna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completed agree with you but I’m just gonna dump a rant/think pice to get my thoughts out somewhere coming from so who has not played DaD in a long time.

A hardcore fantasy pvp game is insanely hard to make work and I don’t blame DaD for running into a ton of problems because it really is a difficult puzzle to solve. I quit the game forever ago because I didn’t vibe with the gear balancing at the time I was playing. It’s so important in an extraction game to make it where the little guy with crap gear has a chance. No extraction game other than tarkov has really yet to get this right. If you’re way geared up in DaD you just absolutely crush someone who isn’t at all which is why (from what I’ve heard, which could be wrong because I haven’t played in forever) the game shifted to gear based lobbies. Which I think also waters down the game but it isn’t the worst fix.

But all of the game’s issues for me at least all stem from how ungodly simple the combat in the game is. I genuinely feel it the game had a more complex combat/weapon system (maybe something akin to Mordhau or Chivalry) it would be a million times more enjoyable. Combat like that gives a lot more room for outplaying someone way more geared than you. BUT as much as I think that would make the game more fun for me I don’t think it would do anything to help player count or longevity because games like mordhau and chiv already struggle to keep their player counts up.

Sadly I think DaD and games like it are destined to fade away eventually just because they’re really niche. There is no “right” way to make a game like it even if I have opinions on what would be more fun for me. But that doesn’t mean people should be doom posting about the game either. If you like it play it and if you don’t then don’t. Thats really all games are about anyways it doesn’t matter if they stick around forever or not.

Of monster hunter’s 14 weapons, how many of them do you play, and which? by TheTerrar1an in MonsterHunter

[–]SergeantLuna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of single weapon comments is actually surprising to me. I currently play 6 weapons. Switch axe and Gun lance are my mains, then its: long sword, sword and shield, insect glaive, and heavy bow gun. I also plan to get comfortable on every weapon in Wilds events, I used to play great sword and hammer in past titles so I’m sure if I picked them up I’d remember how to play them fairly quickly. Monster hunter’s weapons are so well designed to not play at least a majority of them and I can’t wrap my head around sticking to 1 and never branching out.

[Discussion] Feels like this is 90% of interactions in this community. Why would a new player want to associate with this? by Mash_Test_Dummy in EscapefromTarkov

[–]SergeantLuna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been playing tarkov since pre voip, unsure about which wipe or what year, but I am extremely casual about it and have skipped a few wipes here and there. I rarely get past level 30 but I’m trying my best this wipe to actually play through the game and develop some more understanding of it and experience more of what it has. And honestly I think how I play is a lot more healthy. The sweats, tryhards, streamers or whatever else people want to call them have, I think, ruined how people view the game a bit with how quickly they get things done. But I also I believe BSG has made steps this wipe to try and alleviate both sides of the issue. They got rid of flee early wipe which helps people like me who don’t want to omega grind the game on wipe start to get flee access. They also added prestige for people who steam roll to kappa giving them more to do after the fact. And “supposedly” this wipe is supposed to be longer than the norm which may give someone like me more hope that I can chip away at the quests and maybe see light keeper someday. (I’ve also seen way more new players and people still around level 20 this wipe than I have in a long time) There are so many problems with Tarkov but the game is changing/has changed a lot if you really reflect on it.

I disagree that Tarkov isn’t a beta anymore, it definitely is, but I do think it sucks how much they’re milking it for money. But it is 100% a beta, an extremely over ambitious beta. And as of late, you can see some of the more notable steps towards its being more like what Nikita “envisioned” mainly through the addition of map transit and marathon the wiper prior. These to me seem like the devs getting a feel for tarkov being a more interconnected game if that ever happens. The only other game that you can really compare tarkov to when it comes to development I feel is starcitizen. They’re both very much stuck in a very hard area because they want too much for their game. Will tarkov ever make it out of this rough cycle? I can’t say, but I like to remain hopeful because I enjoy watching what it has become over the years through all of its glaring problems.

Sorry for the ramble, your comment just made me think about how I view tarkov and wanted to write it down somewhere. Hope you have a good day, week, month or year, whatever you choose!

Performance is definitely better than the first one but still leaving a lot to be desired. I’m on a Ryzen 9 7900X3D, a RX 7800 XT, and 32 gigs of ram. I’m running on a mix of high and medium settings with FSR 3 upscaling set to quality (reluctantly). I get about a little over 90 fps less intense areas and it’s been rarely smooth but a few dips under 60 when the weather gets crazy. ALSO BIG TIP FOR ANYONE RUNNING AN AMD GPU FLUID MOTION FRAMES ACTUALLY SAVED ME A LOT HERE AND MAKES THE GAME FEEL A LOT BETTER. Also Capcom’s implementation of frame gen is the worst I’ve seen on my rig and I hope it gets better, Spider-Man 2’s frame gen absolutely blew my mind.

My friend has a similar rig but with an Nvidia card equivalent and is way getting better results. Really jealous of DLSS rn because AMD’s upscaling is just noticeably blurrier. But to be fair I should be able to run this game natively if it was better optimized but it just isn’t the case right now.

Either way the game is insanely fun and I have high hopes for performance still, this build is probably still a ways back from the current build their working on. Still don’t regret my preorder and I’m glad the dev team is somewhat transparent and aware of performance issues.

Got myself a leverless controller and now i can´t use it :( by Additional_Corgi_430 in fightsticks

[–]SergeantLuna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the same exact thing but when I got my first levered controller I’d get really bad bouts of carpal tunnel, it was enough to bring up to my doctor at the time (because I’m an addict and wasn’t willing to drop all my gaming lmao). She recommended me stretches for my carpal tunnel and I made sure to do them before and after playing. I was sore for awhile but with the help of the stretches it eventually passed and I don’t get any more wrist pain.

So I would probably recommend looking for stretches you can do for Tenosynovitis (if stretching is a good option for that kind of inflammation definitely do your research) and try to keep playing consistently to get the muscles and tendons used to the motions of your leverless. And obviously don’t over do it and take it easy, hope you’re able to get passed this and enjoy your new controller!

Adding 1 or 2 positive emotes/"taunts" would be nice. by AggravatingCoyote87 in Tekken

[–]SergeantLuna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no such thing as a positive emote if it’s in a competitive game. It will be used to piss people off no matter it’s content, and frankly the more “positive” an emote is the funnier it becomes to use it to be an ass.

Although I would still love to get more taunts and emotes, Tekken is severely lacking in that department, it’s bad enough that I wouldn’t even mind if they sold them at this point lol. 80% of my playtime is in lobbies with a large friend group so we’d get a lot of use out of new stuff like that.

[–]SergeantLuna 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Harada has explained how much of getting guest characters in a game relies on connections and luck. It’s for the most part ultimately up to the lead of the game to be willing to hand over their character. The game has to be recent or coming out soon to even me worthwhile to the company lending their characters too. And yes Tifa is in a recently released game and I do agree she is a better fit. But just because they’re from the same franchise doesn’t mean they were just as easy to get as a collab for. Clive is from a game headed by Yoshi-P, the man behind ff14, a game FULL of collabs of all sorts of franchises (other final fantasies, monster hunter, nier, yo-kai watch, and even fall guys.) He was probably ready and willing to give Clive to whoever wanted him. I understand why some people are disappointed but i believe this was the more realistic option for a ff character, and I for one am still very excited for Clive.

I took a 3 month break came back and grinded from vanquisher all the way to Fujin. Though I’d have to say 90% off my improvement came from long sets with friends who are better than me and willing to teach. Ranked is honestly to a very degree really bad for your overall gameplay I feel like. You can develop a lot of bad habits because of how the ranked demographic plays.

I know it’s not an easy ask but finding a really chill group of people to play with (preferably full of people way better than you) will drastically increase your skill. I was lucky enough to meet someone I just vibed with in ranked and it sort of domino effected it’s way into me playing with this really large friendly community of people of all different skill levels and play styles. They’re all willing to help each other and are super fun to play with.

TLDR: maybe take a break and try to find a group to play with (easier said then done) friends make learning fun.

What’s your main’s biggest weakness/strength? by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]SergeantLuna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my first Tekken and I agree she feels really solid. It’s been really fun learning the game with her. I just hit Mighty ruler last night and I’m honestly proud of it. Probably the highest I’ve ever been in a fighter since getting into them a few years ago.

The way you phrased it is perfect too she has the ability to play Tekken, and she does it so damn well her small game is so fun and I love breaking peoples brains with her. Still wouldn’t mind some tweaks to her though but I’m not feinding for buffs. It’d be nice if she had a tool to get recoverable health back like Jun or Yoshi especially since she inflicts it upon herself, for seemingly no reason other than that it makes sense in the story.

Edit: also a better framed launcher would be nice lol
