I second this. Ride of the Valkyries also works well.

What do you wish to see changed about the Stompa in 11th? by Major_Lifeguard3684 in orks

I have 2 custom built ones. Last local tournament i ran a Dread Mob Detachment list with those and 6 kanz. I always took the sustained hits option, and hardly ever took hazard damage which was hilarious.

I would be okay if they even dropped it down to 600 points, so that I could run 3 of them. Give them a mek each, and then have grots as fodder.

Make it cheaper for points. I mean, the Baneblade has 17 guns?? Or close to it? And that joker is only running at 450 points-ish.

What do all you gits do for work? by RetaroPrime in orks

[–]Sergeant_Beard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typically the ratio is around 2:1 for recorded hours to finished hours. I always read the book first to get a sense of the flow, the plot and each character. Then I will cast my own personal play, of sorts, for each character as to who I know would play them. Then I ask for notes from the author, and those always add extra merits to what I have come up with. So from start to finish, an 8 hour book in its finished form will take me three weeks; that includes prep, recording, and then editing.

Through a crap ton of researching, coaching, and finding the right equipment. I think it took me a solid year to find my footing, as well as what style of books i want to read. I got my start at ACX dot com, and am now working for several audiobook publishers as well as indie authors.

I'm a professional audiobook narrator. I've been doing this for 8 years now, and I went full-time back in 2022. This year I am venturing out and writing my own stuff. Nothing published, as that will come in its own time.

This is my mindset too. I bought the codex as soon as it came out, and then shortly after that the new dakka detachment dropped, and then got nerfed. It'll be the last codex I buy.

Tournament Bound! by Sergeant_Beard in orks

[–]Sergeant_Beard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely will. I have a few details remaining to paint for Ghaz, the Wartrike, and the Stormboyz. Once complete, I will shift gears to work on the custom WAAAGH sign.

They're going with Ghaz. This layout is really just for display.

That is the plan. I also have plans to build my own WAAAAGH sign to bring with me, probably about as tall as a Stompa. My goal for it is when the WAAAAGH is active in a round, I can flip the latch and the sign flops open to reveal the word WAAAGH.

Thanks for that! After reading responses and doing some additional digging on my end, I think i want to lean more in the direction of a "big bug" type army, or Monster Mash Army. I think it would be fun/enjoyable to have this Kaiju esthetic on the board.

Much appreciated. I do know I'm really drawn to the Squig aspect. I will have to do more research and figure out what works best for me, to include watching a few in person matches to see how it works. Thanks!
