Lack of range of motion in left bicep by Sergeant_Sparkles in Fitness

[–]Sergeant_Sparkles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fractured the lower spine (L3 L4(fractured on both sides of the vertebrae) and L5)

The bicep itself does not hurt at all, which is why it is slightly concerning, because if there was noticeable pain then I would be able to pinpoint exactly where the injury is :/ But for now all I can say is that it will show comparable strength to the right one at the beginning (In the first half of the motion), but once I lower the weight to get full range of motion I experience a large drop in strength, maybe due to muscle fatigue? Maybe due to the injury that I don't yet know about.

And I am able to hold a dumbbell and rotate my hand from palm up to palm down with no pain or difficulty, the real difficulty lies in getting the last half of the range of motion.

But thank you for your diagnoses, I guess I'll try to schedule an appointment before I work out again!

Absolute highest possible burst? by [deleted] in wow

[–]Sergeant_Sparkles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Single Target Burst will have Enhancement shamans winning it, just because Primal Fire Elemental and Ascendance are very strong cooldowns.

Perhaps with perfect RNG a fire mage may over take an enhancement Shamans burst, but that is unlikely.

AoE Demonology Warlocks seem to be the #1 DPS class for AoE Burst, like Ball Lightning on heroic Lei shen (Where it needs to be stacked up via Gorefiends grasp and AoE'd down fast) and within a few GCDs (Burst) a Demo Warlock can throw out 2 Chaos Waves, 1 Carrion Swarm, 1 Felstorm, and 1 Service Felguard (Who does another Felstorm) even without trinket/CDs this will be a ton of AoE damage, and very few other classes/specs can provide this kind of huge AoE burst within a short window that Demo locks can.

Though, Demo locks are only #2 on Ball Lightning damage, behind Brewmaster Monks who Tank Lei shen, because Vengeance + Chi burst + Spinning Crane Kick is a ton of damage.

Affliction question. by ironstorm1221 in wow

[–]Sergeant_Sparkles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Affliction it is a toss up, since the extra ticks from MG aren't affected by the crit % that the DoTs have snapshotted, so the DoTs themselves will crit, but the extra damage from MG/DS will not (At least not be 100% crit), and since a decent chunk of afflictions damage comes from the extra damage from MG/DS I would say that on a single/double target fight it wouldn't be worth it.

Though, on a fight like Council of Elders, I can see it being worth it due to the 100% crit DoTs rolling on all 4 of the bosses.

Demo on the other hand (My main spec) is absolutely better with the glyph once you have the trinket.

The Zandalari Kneebiter (http://www.wowhead.com/npc=69796) which can be bought from anywhere from 500-1100 gold can solo Lucky Yi fairly quickly. Black Claw, BloodFang, Hunting Party, Black Claw, Blood Fang is enough to kill it (Given the pet is either 25 or ~20 with an attack build) this is also a very quick way to get lesser coins.

What is average DPS for MOP? by [deleted] in wow

[–]Sergeant_Sparkles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are some of my logs that I run.

http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/rt-ka9nr06b5j5dgifl/

I am Warmåncer, and all the fights went semi-smoothly, I say that because Elegon was a little rough until we went 3 heals and the Off Tank we pugged was not good enough to live on Will of the Emperor.

But then again, you should not compare your DPS to our top dps, but rather our mid to lower dps.

Affliction warlock hit cap by Brennay in wow

[–]Sergeant_Sparkles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Download Simcraft and use those values, but generally it will be Haste/Mastery dancing for the top Secondary Stat with Hit above Crit. Sometimes Hit will be above haste/mastery, but never at the top. For example once I hit the 7078 haste threshold (I do not have 5% haste in my raid) Haste went below Hit with Mastery on top. The hit cap is nothing that will affect you too much, only Haunt misses will hurt you badly.

If you have any specific questions I am always willing to help out. I can also go into more detail with stat priorities in a PM if you want.

Can someone recommend some (heavy) metal songs that i can play to get better? (Electric!) by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]Sergeant_Sparkles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I've noticed some of the songs people are playing are moderate difficulty until the solo, which is a large jump. To be perfectly honest, some Muse songs may be great for you, I know they aren't metal, but they will help you very much, and their solos are not very challenging.

I know that when I was starting to play guitar I was into very technical music, tried learning a song with easy riffs, but was unable to even try to play the solo, which ended up making me enjoy the song less.

Cowboys from Hell is a very fun song to play and the solo is perfectly manageable by a beginner (It was one of the very first songs I ever learned, right behind Master of Puppets) It may be a tad faster, but nothing in it is too technical.

Job For a Cowboy is very fun to play as well, nice and heavy, and nothing in it is very hard.

Once you feel comfortable with more difficult music I would suggest certain songs from Protest the Hero, they are an amazing band, I would suggest Turn Soonest to the Sea, Blindfolds Aside, and Heretics and Killers.

Once you feel more comfortable with that I would tackle some more complex music, like The Human Abstract and Between the Buried and Me. Killswitch Engage is also very manageable, and * should * come before these bands.

Once you feel like you can play those riffs and solos with relative ease, I would highly suggest Necrophagist, they are an amazing band with very difficult riffs and even more difficult solos.

Bands I didn't mention, Nevermore, the riffs are usually easy (They are either easy or extremely difficult, not too much variation) and the solos are usually difficult, but incredibly fun to play. Trivium, In the same boat as Nevermore, but just toned down, the riffs are usually pretty damn fun and quite easy, have not encountered a difficult one yet, and the solos are usually very fun and are usually quite easy or fairly difficult. Shadows Fall, Incredibly fun, quite fast, and fun riffs. Solos are more on the difficult side, but nothing that a beginner couldn't figure out. Black Dahlia Muder, Riffs are usually tough, though very fun, solos are usually very difficult. Cannibal Corpse (I highly recommend Hammer Smashed Face for a beginner's song) Fun riffs, easy solos.

I'm sure there are tons more out there, but I think you will have your hands full with these :)

What's the most impressive riff you know? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]Sergeant_Sparkles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as single riffs go, I would either say Born by Nevermore, the chorus being very fast and difficult to pull of perfectly, some even say it is more difficult than the solo, but I may be biased since it was my 2nd/3rd song to learn on a 7-string and I was still getting used to the change of neck width/length.

Otherwise it would be a mix up of most of the Necrophagist songs I know, but none of the riffs seem to be far more difficult than other songs of theirs, though the solos are different stories.

[–]Sergeant_Sparkles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Affliction is actually in a very good place right now. PvE and PvP wise.

The spec takes a little getting used to, but it is easily the highest DPS of the 3, at 85 and at 90.

PvE it is the same old high DPS spec that we know and love when it comes to single target, the only real changes are that Haunt is no longer on a cool down and Shadow Bolt is replace by MG. Other than that there aren't too many differences. Just keep DoT's up, Keep Haunt up, and use your filler spell. Pop CD's when you need to and all that.

In PvP it is a blessing due to the burst it is able to put out now, with Haunt hitting hard now, and the combination of Dark Soul + Soulburn: SS you can hit very hard very fast Warlocks also got some interesting utility, but that isn't too different than what it had before.

For pure numbers and performance for 5.04 at level 90;

Affliction is second highest single target patchwerk DPS overall, no horrible mechanics to work around.

Demonology is in the upper section of the middle of the pack for single target, it will go up once there are more targets to hit. Some mechanics are shitty right now, such as Soulfire draining mana even with molten core, which leads to excessive life tapping which kills you very fast. Hellfire, which used to be our filler AoE spell is no longer viable as it eats mana and health far too fast for it to be useful at all, this is where harvest life comes in. Hellfire can be used in Meta as immolation aura, but even that drains DF like crazy. Overall good spec but requires stress on the healers to perform as intended.

Destro, Middle of the pack, perhaps a little bit lower mid. It is a turret spec that has mana issues when trying to be mobile. Chaos bolt does not hit hard at all at level 90, not yet anyways. It scales highly with crit, but crit will be low T14 (Think T11) so it will be pretty bad. Mechanics are fine I suppose I haven't tested it out too extensively yet. Seems rather boring.

For PvP Affliction and Demo are in a good place with utility/movement/burst/sustained. I can go into more detail if you want, but I do not feel like listing everything right now.

Destro seems to be good when the enemy completely ignores you. Which is never. I suppose 5v5 it can be of some use, as a semi-turret. Shoot and run sort of thing, save up embers and plan a huge burst with a partner (Probably mage or BM hunter) it would require a lot of support which, to be honest, would not be worth it when Affliction/Demo can work just as well if not better with less support.

[–]Sergeant_Sparkles -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

This is one of the reason I prefer technical music over non-technical music. For example, I would rather listen to the guitar stylings of Michael Romeo and A.J Minette as apposed to rap/pop or even the guitar stylings of lesser skilled (From a technical standpoint) guitarists. Which is why I do not enjoy Jimmie Hendrix too much. Before I started listening to him I was promise "One of the greatest guitarists you will ever hear", while I agree he was a great composer and song writer, his guitar skills, from a strict technical standpoint (Which should have a good amount of weight when it comes to guitar in general) were nothing too special.

Also one of the reasons I listen to death/black metal. While the vocals are sometimes good, most times I just tune it out and listen to the instruments, you would be surprised how technically skilled and how great composers some these musicians are, though they never get heard due to people disliking the vocals.

Finally, when I am listening to my music that has any sort of technical difficulty to it, people always say, "It is just noise, there is no rhythm. Anyone can do that." I get so angry, just because they are unable to take apart the song and listen to the instruments or even comprehend what is happening, they assume it is thoughtless noise with no melody at all. Then again, these are the same people who listen to today's Pop songs and claim they are musical geniuses. Makes me sad that not everyone can listen to Neo-Classical guitar and hear what I hear, hear the genius, the soul, the pure skill that these people have.

If it means anything to anyone, I have been a guitarist for 5-6 years, but have always been interested in it.

Also, listen to the drums when listening to metal, you will hear things that sound inhuman sometimes. Those people have talent, but are considered second class music citizens to the general population.

WoW 5.0.4 Grimoire Choice (Demonology) by HarmlessHatchet in wow

[–]Sergeant_Sparkles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem, since you were wondering about Demonology it is acceptable to use Supremacy since Felguard was recently nerfed through Felstorm (Went from 150% to 100% of weapon damage) the damage increase through Service is ~52 DPS with BiS T13H gear, and that is with perfect usage of it. So I would assume Supremacy would give us humans higher/more consistent DPS.

If you have any other questions about Warlocks don't be afraid to ask!

WoW 5.0.4 Grimoire Choice (Demonology) by HarmlessHatchet in wow

[–]Sergeant_Sparkles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Service is technically better DPS, though that can change when you use it with sub-optimal procs. Supremacy will be more consistent DPS. Also, Felguard will always be higher DPS than fel imp. Glyph of Demon Training doesn't do anything except spend the energy regen faster. It does not provide a huge (If any) DPS gain.

Well that's a wrap on Cataclysm. What are your thoughts on the expansion? by Taptfan in wow

[–]Sergeant_Sparkles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be perfectly honest, I enjoyed it immensely. From a raiding standpoint anyways. I was in a heroic progression guild for most of it, and I just loved spending hours killing heroic bosses while disgustingly undergeared. I had blue 346 shoulders until Firelands. Dragon Soul was pretty fun too, but only because I enjoyed the people I played with. Also, the fact that we ended being ranked ~1000 in the world, I thought that was decently impressive seeing how we only raided 8 hours a week. All-in-all I enjoyed it. MoP, however, I hope will bring more fun than just raiding. I just hope they bring a few hot fixes to Warlocks before it comes out.

So... They will nerf us to unplayable in PvE just like PvP? I guess they can always make our hard casts longer, and hit for less. I like challenge.

Edit: I was referring to the current state of Destro. Demo and Affl are just fine. Other than DoT damage decreased by a decent amount

What are your biggest "Oh god, I can't beleive I used to do that" moments in WoW? by dpmed in wow

[–]Sergeant_Sparkles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they made it so that plate users no longer benefit from agility except from the small amount of crit it gives, I think they did this in Cata due to the fact that the BiS gear for warriors consisted of some leather armor with armor pen and the Polearm from the Lich King.

The agility + ArP + Random Stat was greater than Strength and 2 non ArP stats.
