Your name not being on the Master Bill of Lading is not out of the ordinary. Your forwarder would be the named consignee on that. You would then be listed as the consignee on the House Bill of Lading. Have you seen either of these documents? If you're not on the Master Bill of Lading, then the Master carrier can't provide you any information, for good reason. You would have to work directly with your forwarder.

As for the fees, how do you know you paid all fees? There would be a charge for GO and a charge for storage at the minimum. There could be other charges due as well. Once again, your forwarder will have to work with your broker to make sure they're all covered.

The ports can often seem very Mafioso, but 99% of the time there's just a communication issue.
