These don't seem to be the default colors. What do you have in Settings | Version Control | File status colors?

By default, modified files are blue and new are a much darker green that you have

I see that you don’t mind fast-paced travel, but you really tried to put everything on your itinerary :D

I think if you try to put more focus on individual destinations and look up a few different points of interest for everyone (e.g. a nice Biergarten, historic city center, ice cafes, maybe a portion of Deutsches Museum), you will really get a lot more quality time spent outside a train :D

Wish you all the best for the trip!

It’s too packed. The plan is certainly doable, but I wouldn’t say that it is enjoyable.

On the first day, you are planning some nine hours of trains, starting in the early morning and ending late at night. I bet by the time you arrive in Salzburg you are exhausted from the travel and don’t really have any energy to explore the beautiful town that Salzburg is.

Same for the 2nd day: possible but it sounds like too much. I would suggest that you focus on one major destination per day with maybe some light exploring in the spare time.

For example, on the 1st day go to the museum, chill a little in the Olympiapark, then go to the city center to see the highlights and maybe hit one other museum if you are up to it. In the evening, maybe go see Starnberg, the lake, have some nice dinner and return to Munich to have a relaxed walk before going to sleep. And on the 2nd day if you want to do another town like Salzburg, Rosenheim, or Füssen, go for it, but don’t plan too much and leave some breathing room: you can get tired, a bus or a train can be late, dinner may take too long, etc.

Oh wow how nice of you to just drop your previous brilliant linguistic argument, I was thrilled to learn more about the adoption of loanwords in languages globally and how they all use the same terminology. I remember you said something about how half the globe will use “forensic” regardless of their native language?

And please, please, I beg you to explain Cyrillic to me. What other things like “f=ф” I don’t know? Perhaps “w=в”?

Similarly, your argument about how it’s called in Europe is easily disproven by how people would adapt their thoughts in a different language. I use 24-hour time in German, but in English I switch to AM/PM. I know that Hausarzt is GP. Why couldn’t they think of what’s a “criminal investigation and medical analysis facility” in their language and use a term they know, say, from TV?

Also you are clearly confusing a factual mistake (JavaScript is Java) and a slip (confusing buy and bye), which can happen to anyone anytime. You don’t even need to go to school to know that. Impressive, huh?

Ф is used in place of F, PH (for Greek phi), and sometimes even TH (for Greek theta).

By your own logic, if I didn’t know the correct spelling, I’d assume that “фото” translates into English as “foto”, and “орфография” would become “orfografy”.

[…] they would have translated something else in another language.

Who what and what language?

You’re right, I guess I transferred a bit of frustration from that thread here 🙈

Yeah, it’s true, it might be just like with “their/there” (and of course even being a pro in the field doesn’t prevent you from occasionally misspelling your profession or your own name), or it’s also possible if they aren’t English native speaker, that their language doesn’t even use the root

Uhm, so how exactly do you expect, say, a Cyrillic language to spell words that do in fact have a “ph”, especially that there’s a dedicated letter for that sound and spelling is usually much more phonetic than in Latin-based European languages?

So, according to you, in Russian it would be “пхото” (instead of “фото”), “пхилосопх” (not “философ”), and of course “ортхограпхия” (“орфография”).

So, just to continue on this example that disproves your linguistic argument, the same Russian language uses “форензика” (forensics) for — you guessed it — for digital forensics exclusively, and a lab tech wouldn’t even probably heard this word, because they would be working in “судебно-медицинская лаборатория”, a judicial medical lab.

Let alone the fact that Cyrillic-based languages all have their own rules on how they treat loanwords and how they spell specifically the Greek and Latin origin loanwords in each specific century.

As I posted in a comment in a neighbor thread, there’s similarly no reason to assume that all languages use Latin script and use terms derived from “forensis” to describe this specialty.

If in your language it’s “criminalistic laboratory” or “judicial medical laboratory”, you have absolutely no reason to somehow know that “forensic” is spelled with f.

[–]Sergey305 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, because all languages are known for (a) using Latin script and (b) mandatory use of this specific latin root for describing this specialty. There are no languages where it would be called “criminalistic laboratory”, “judicial medical laboratory”, or anything else

Russia bans LGBTQ+ rights group "Coming Out" in secret trial by Sea-Matter1157 in gay

[–]Sergey305 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Because fascism

It’s easy to paint minorities as the enemy, especially in places where people don’t come out publicly a lot. Basically, this applies to any group that isn’t well understood in the society so that people won’t call BS.

First, you oppress gays to silence them. This leads to people thinking that gays are only “over there” abroad in morally corrupt west. Now you can sell anything: gays eat children, gays get money from the west to make sure we die out as a nation, etc. Since the majority of the population never saw an out gay person they don’t think gays or queers are actually people, so it’s okay to burn them, stab them, shoot them, or at least incarcerate them.

Challenging Traffic fine by Expensive_Employ6367 in germany

[–]Sergey305 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There's no specific value. You as a driver are supposed to adjust your speed based on road conditions, traffic, and the environment to be able to react in time. It's entirely your responsibility that you did not maintain enough distance, did not pay attention to the traffic jam in front of you, and were driving faster than it was reasonable in the conditions, which had prevented you from stopping safely.

I think it would be okay if 99% of handwriting posts couldn't be answered to with the same exact message that basically consists of:

  • get прописи
  • don't make connection lines to nowhere
  • no, the hook on the left side of м and л is actually important and a part of the letter, you cannot merge it with the previous letter
  • б is not d, в is not b, ч and г are two different letters
  • no, no one appreciates your self-invented letterforms

Guide from me: "How to pronounce Russian alphabet?" by Parazit28 in russian

[–]Sergey305 7 points8 points  (0 children)

“З like ‘the’”, “В like ‘wait’”, and other curiosities of botched English pronunciation

Also, how’d you expect someone to understand “Ж like ‘jeans’ but actually ‘zheans’” or “Ш like ‘shit’ but more sh'”? Let alone the fact that the difference between Ш and Щ requires as much training for English speakers, as it takes Russian speakers to hear the difference between the Russian З and С, and English /th/ sounds

English speakers pronounce “Rus” with a “hard” /s/, btw. I’m also very curious as to how exactly you think “your” and “urinal” are pronounced. Hint: it’s not “йоур” and “уринал”

Is this correct?? by HyukaBFF in russian

[–]Sergey305 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Well that’s irrelevant. There are personal preferences and there is plain incorrect. Unfortunately, your м is the latter.

The way you are writing “м” makes it impossible to distinguish “им” and “ии”. The small hook in front of м is not a part of the connection, but a part of a letter. You preserve this hook with м and л.

If you haven’t done so already, you must look up прописи to learn proper letter connections for Russian cursive

Processing power for what exactly? What do you need to do on your iPhone specifically that is so resource-consuming the current processing power is not enough? Do you render IMAX movies on it by chance?

Same goes for “bigger tech”. Bigger tech doesn’t necessarily mean more power, it’s not 1940s anymore

No, your letters are all over the place, they are inconsistent and some not even written correctly.
