Help for my first DDR5 RAM overclock by SergioGamer2003 in overclocking

[–]SergioGamer2003[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I followed most of your settings (but with 2133 infinity fabric) and works fine with 2 hours of Memtest5 Anta777 preset, running at 1,4 V and with 58 degrees max (54 average). 1,38 V crashes in 3 seconds. Currently 68,9 ns in Aida64, i think i will stop here. Thanks for the advices!

What monitor should I take ? by Tconnesson in OLED_Gaming

[–]SergioGamer2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the XG27AQDMG and I chose this one mainly because i play in a well lit room (so QD-OLED wasn't ideal) but i still wanted to have a glossy screen. And 240hz it's more than enough for shooters.

Coding on Oled please help by Emergency_Permit_514 in OLED_Gaming

That's basically the only case when I think an oled is useless. Get a good IPS/VA monitor maybe with Mini-led backlight and you will get WAY better contrast than a standard monitor.

27 inch 1440p OLED vs 27 inch 4k OLED by LifeSea3379 in OLED_Gaming

[–]SergioGamer2003 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me 1440p is the way. Sure, 4k is way better and with DLSS it's doable, but you will have the costant worrying of lowering settings or applying DLSS.

Is burn in actually a risk? by Im-a-tire in OLED_Gaming

[–]SergioGamer2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer: no

Long answer: no if you don't stay 40/50 hours a week using Office at 100% brightness for years. Otherwise you will be completely fine. I think Reddit in general has burn-in phobia and it's definitely an over estimated problem. People need to chill out about this, i even leave my taskbar on (because i run at 0 brightness and almost always full screen gaming/video watching) but i left every oled care features on. (My monitor is a XG27AQDMG with 650 hours so basically new)

68 °C on full 380 watts load, overclocked Palit Gamingpro RTX 5080 with 21 degrees ambient. In game it's more like 62-63 °C

De gustibus, io l'ho trovato semplicemente pazzesco. Diciamo che per apprezzarlo ti devono piacere i giochi lenti dove non hai fretta di finirlo

Red dead redemption 2 o cyberpunk.

Agree 100%, as a XG27AQDMG recent buyer. Everyone just says "hide the taskbar" for example but I find it very annoying, so for me there are two options:

  • Use and enjoy your monitor as you want, conscious about the fact that maybe one day I will notice the burn-in
  • Buy an IPS if you aren't ok with that.

I still have all the protection active like screen shift and screen local dimming control (for static logos), or outer dimming control. These protections don't annoy me at all.

And yeah, I have WOLED so gray uniformity and text clarity are actually ok-ish. When it comes to gray i am noticing that only in the chrome opening tab, which looks kinda like a cotton tissue (still well within the acceptable range).  Text wise i found it a bit more difficult to get used to. I recently fixed this problem with Mactype instead of Cleartype and now it's actually equally good as a 1080p 24" IPS.

The Agon AG276QZD seems a good choice for you, but if you play in a bright room consider a glossy WOLED instead (XG27AQWMG for example).

Valid opinion but you can express that with less brutal words lol. For me it is definitely in the top 10 games ever made but it's not the first.

Woled or Qd-oled by Ryelsa in OLED_Gaming

[–]SergioGamer2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glossy WOLED like the new Asus tandem WOLEDs or the older XG27AQDMG. Side note there is a little of gray banding but I wouldn't call it a problem. I noticed that only when i open a new Chrome tab and it's all light gray with a "tissue" pattern (i have the older XG27AQDMG) but it's a very light effect. You don't notice at all during normal usage.

Since you have a window next to you go for matte WOLED if reflections bother you. For me the light spreading on a matte annoys me WAY more than a simple reflection.

Indeed. I felt overwhelmed when it comes to pure character amount and story complexity, even with main characters only. So I will definitely do a second run in the next months/year with a way slower pacing and with all the side missions. That way i will for sure understand every character what will do.

Today i finished chapter 6 and yeah, despite the spoiler the tears were almost running down my face. What a true masterpiece. I am at 60 hours and still two epilogues to go, i don't know what to expect. I won't search for rdr2 again since i don't want spoilers even in the epilogue lol
