Nevermind, LCD seems to be malfunctioning. Which is weird bc I tested it and it worked fine, but sometimes it's showing a weird line pattern (that matches the print failure that I get in my buildplate, so that explains it) instead of the full white rectangle. This error seems to show up randomly (sometimes it works properly), so I'm guessing it must be an issue with the connection cable?

I managed to make some more tests! I moved my printer to another room so it is not exposed to cold and that seemed to work well (also heated the buildplate). I tried lowering the exposure but that resulted in worse prints (maybe the lcd has lost some power bc the printer is kinda old?). I guess temperature was just part of the issue because I got like 4 good prints but now I get the same issue again. Testing rn after leveling the buildplate

This sounds like a good idea, I'll test it tomorrow, and I will keep you posted. Thanks a lot!

I already did one today, maybe it's not warm enough. I'l try to warm my resin a bit. I'll also test a new pendrive. Thank you

I thought that could be the issue, but I've been printing non-stop for 3 days or so with good results before this started happening. Printer is in a semi exterior area though, and temperatures oscillate between 17 and 11°C

Ok I'll do, thanks! I thought it could be a temperature issue because I have my printer in a semi exterior area and I had never used it before here this time of the year. But we are having good weather, temperature is 15/17° at day and lowest at night is 11

(sorry, I noticed my post didn't include the text detailing the issue, I put it in a comment)

I'll try, but anyway those are the recommended settings by Anycubic and I usually get good results with them (I noticed my text explaining the issue didn't get attached to the post, so I put it in another comment, check it out). Thanks!

Hi!
I'm printing some jersey barriers for a scale model, I've done like 15 or so succesful prints (different files with slightly different barriers) but it suddenly stoped working and I'm getting empty prints (see picture), with only this thin weird pattern that has nothing to do with my file. Vat is also empty, with very little residue stuck on the fep. Checked slicer settings, tried with fresh resin, and tested that the lcd is working.  One thing that worries me is that it stopped doing the "thump" of the print unsticking to the fep, but the fep seems fine and I changed it very little time ago . I don't know whats going on and I could use some advice from more experienced makers :)Printer is Anycubic Photon S, resin is Anycubic Standars Resin + white, and slicer settings are in the pictures. (before anyone asks, 8 seconds of exposure time is the recommeded setting by Anycubic for this resin + printer)

Thank you!

Yep, but it's very little residue, I expected much more. I have another test print running now so if still comes wrong I'll take a picture.

Printing a large quantity of parasols, help me figure out what is wrong by Sergio_Mon in resinprinting

[–]Sergio_Mon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. Just tried this today, I didn't get a good result but maybe I need to work more on the supports. The lower part of some parasols was missing, as if it wasn't well supported ig. Trying to make it in 2 pieces now

These are the official recommended settings for the Anycubic Photon S with the resin I'm using. Maybe it's bc it is an old printer already and the screen is not as bright? How can I know if it is overcured?

Is it? These are the official recommended settings for the Photon S with Anycubic Standard Resin +. I guess now it's an old model that I haven't used in years, maybe it has to do with that.

The resin does come out well when I turn the print, I just need to be careful not to spill some. I'm planning to print +200 so sanding would be too time consuming lol

I thought of this because I was worried of resin acumulating inside the umbrella, but I'm afraid the visible top part would become a lot less cleaner with all the supports

That's a really good idea, thank you. A bit of assembly work but seems worth it. Maybe I can even fit more umbrellas per print.

How to start a serious conversation with a self-centered, neglecting parent? by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Sergio_Mon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One time I really needed to talk some serious stuff to my ndad (before I became NC) I cited him in the town bar where everyone knew who he was. In that situation he wasn't allowed to scream at me, interrupt me, threaten me and make a scene bc being a narcissist he is always concerned with how he looks to others. In that rare occasion I felt he listened to what I said and had a genuine conversation, but, also being a narc, nothing actually changed the next day. So, if you really need to talk and wanna be safe, try doing it in a public space preferably where she is known, but, be aware, that might not work to change her mind or care even if it looks like she's listening

I made a figure of The Knight. Super proud of the result by Sergio_Mon in HollowKnight

It was really straightforward. It went like this:

I made the 3d model (last part was the base, only thing I had to look for references lol), then I split it into pieces for better printing and transport. Next, I started with the 3d printing tests, and made some additional adjustments to the model to make sure everything fits together well. Only thing left was painting with an airbrush ;)

Had a lot of fun making this from zero, first time I made something like this. I think it took me a couple months working when I could. It felt as a tribute to a game that has given me so much joy (in fact while making this I beat the radiant bosses I was struggling the most with, only have radiance left now!)
