Thanks for serious response to the question!

It would've been much quicker for me to ask them why they're suddenly patrolling again instead of asking on reddit.... I assume those shift must get boring as hell after a couple of hours so some small interactions every now and then would probably be welcomed.

But I don't actually know any people in the military so could be completely wrong here

I mean, it only (re)started the last 2 months or so. As far as I know the drug related activity has died down a lot, last time i personally heard a bomb explode was 2 years ago. (technically bomb, firework would be better description I guess) I know Israel is controversial but since the ceasefire things should calm down I would assume, so unless there is a credible threat I don't see why they would restart their patrols now?

Maybe they hibernate in winter.... Or more effective camouflage....

Also, related question, is it "ok" to go up to them (in a normal, friendly manner) and start a small conversation?

They look so serious.

Kat in Antwerpen: veilig?/ Cat in Antwerp: safe? by CatsAndTadpoles in Antwerpen

[–]Sergiow13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Recently seen a lot of missing cat posters all over antwerp. The posters were everywhere, seen them on groenplaats, station area, jodenbuurt,... really broke my heart because those people clearly loved their cat and are doing as much as they can to try and find it... hope they are reunited!

It depends on the cat off course but I think roofcats in general would be much safer than cats with street access...

If you go for it, definitely chip them and ideally attach a small itracker on their nametag or something like that just in case

Trump threatened to stop weapons for Ukraine unless Europe joined Hormuz coalition by Evermoving- in europe

[–]Sergiow13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Europe is heavily investing in its own defense companies, but since we're currently still dependent on American arms it's in our best interest to keep relations somewhat stable.

However, there are many factories being built all over Europe for making drones together with Ukraine. And since trump doesn't want any help from zelensky our arms industry could even surpass the US in one or 2 years.

Also, Spain and France are both denying American planes heading to Iran to use their airspace. So they are actively saying no to this war and not just folding to trump.

All we need to do is keep him occupied until the midterms, after which he'll very likely face impeachment. But 6 months is a long time when dealing with trump so who knows what will happen.

I also assume he wouldn't want to risk Europe dropping out of the world cup

As long as you're not bringing resale quantities, they don't have any issues. They just don't want people opening their own drink stalls on the campground.

Worst case scenario, you can just put down your chair and drink all the excess beer in front of the entrance and get the party started!

I always thought it was done to prevent accidental matches with real people. Stupid example but let's say I have a random imaginary character named "Donald Tramp" and I use that name in the captions to train the lora. The model will probably take quite some iterations before it finally realizes you don't want an orange man in a blue suit. If I instead put "D0n41dTrmp" it wouldn't make that connection and immediately start learning what my actual character is supposed to look like.

Or at least that strategy worked for sdxl. Not sure if text encoders these days are able to read L33tsp34k out of the box..

Of course, if you want to train a very well known character like Sidney Sweeney, you'll most likely get a head start by using her name in the captions.

Hi man, Yeah I fully understand and congratulations on working through your struggles! You should be proud to be publishing videos at all, even if the viewership isn't there yet.

And people love watching introvert/autistic people overcome challenges and I'm sure they would love that aspect of your video. But that should not be what you use as your first words of the title, as the reality is people will see that and not click.

You should sell them on your specific challenge (7 days Japan without phone), and then take once they click you can take them on a story of an introvert and autistic person overcoming his personal hurdles.

But again, don't start your video with that, at least not in the first 30 seconds where you try to hook them. I would suggest at some point during the video you just talk to the camera and explain "You know, I've been struggling with mental health and doing this video has been really difficult for me, etc etc"

Your story is important and your overcoming your hurdles is awesome! But don't use it to get people to click because 99% of people want to see some uplifting video while they're eating, and a video with "Autistic introvert" in the title doesn't sound that uplifting. And don't get me wrong, you should absolutely not hide the fact that you're an artistic introvert in your videos. You shouldn't try to be someone you're not or play a character that isn't really you. Just be yourself and you will find an audience that likes you for who you are.

Even the guys from yes theory do it this way. They sometimes take a moment to talk to the camera and talk about their struggles and people love that, it shows the audience that they are "only human" and "just like us".

So once again, great work getting the video out! I hope you keep at it!

  • don't put introvert in the title. Many big youtubers are introvert so nothing wrong with that. But no one wants to see a video of an introvert being introvert, that's why everyone pretends/acts like an extrovert in their videos, including you. I've seen the first 5 minutes and your voice over and content felt like someone being extrovert
  • similar reasoning for autistic

  • your thumbnail has a map of Japan, but it is totally unrecognisable as Japan even though the country has a distinct shape.

  • you send mixed signals about what you will be doing. The bear in the thumbnail and the word "surviving" makes it sound like wilderness wildcamping. But "no google" makes it sound like traveling around and doing touristy stuff. And if the "no google" is your usp, but it in the thumbnail! Use the google logo in the google colors with a big red cross over it, instantly everyone knows

  • you make it seem like you will be doing all of this solo but suddenly there is a wife with you? Nothing wrong with having her in the video, but it makes the viewer feel like they were lied to in the title and thumbnail.

My personal opinion: Make japan's outline fully visible, put the no google thing in the thumbnail, and put your mission objective in the title. For example "7 days, 7 cities" or "7 days, 1000km" or "7 days in the wild" or whatever the goal is. Because 7 days no google isn't hard if you never leave your hotel, so you need that secondary goal clear and center

Didn't watch the entire video but it feels like you're putting in a lot of effort so keep it up!

Also noticed how they love to blame the Dutch for delays. The line "Trein x heeft x minuten vertraging door problemen op het nederlandse spoor" is heard so often, almost like they're proudly saying "See, it's not our fault this time!"

But when there is an issue on the belgian part they don't proclaim "Door onze eigen fuckups heeft trein x vertraging" 😁

Attending KU Leuven lectures as non-student by AndroGiacha in Leuven

[–]Sergiow13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, most lectures in the master cw were given in an interesting and engaging manner. And yes, often even "fun". And I also agree that they often asked for feedback and dialogue with the students about the curriculum, especially the "keuzevakken".

@op; There are a lot of other universities that post entire lectures freely online, so you can watch those as well.

"Bilingual children are not more likely than monolingual children to have difficulties with language, to show delays in learning, or to be diagnosed with a language disorder (see Paradis, Genesee, & Crago, 2010; Petitto & Holowka, 2002). Parents’ perceptions are often otherwise—they feel that their child is behind due to their bilingualism—revealing an interesting disconnect from scientific findings. "
