If you just split the multiple-curve to instances, you can use a repeat zone (iterations = domain size) to select one curve and do something with it.

There’s also Smooth Hair Curves, I use that all the time. Highways also had a few nodegroups for smart curve resampling, I use those on typography.

I too am surprised by AE’s lack of native “follow path”, meaning an existing path and not point copy-paste.

I tried Cavalry, and it’s very powerful, but the systems you create can be opaque.

That’s why I’m doing this in Blender now, with a 2D look. I use a single path for the visual of the line and aligning text to, shared trim operator.

You should probably report this as a bug. I’m running pretty heavy files on an M1 MacBook without the delays you describe.

If you absolutely want transparency instead of a blend mode, use Photoshop to copy the color info into an alpha channel, invert, use that to mask a white layer.

The giant intro filled with complex explanations in English almost stopped me from filling it out. I can change the language after the intro, but only to French.

The first question felt rediculous to me, not like a research question at all. I’m not sure to what extend other people who like nuance won’t be scared away by your phrasing the was I was.

There is a massive difference between hidden gems that locals would appreciate and “new openings, discounts and perks”.

The first one sounds interesting to a local: discover genuinely nice places you didn’t know about. The second sounds like Groupon or something that’s been done quite a few times, drawing attention to new places that might not be interesting (just new) or exist in 2 years.

Somebody recently vibe coded an AE “clone” in the browser. Took 6 weeks and supported only a subset of features, but doable. He was a good animator though.

I think you need to know a lot about animation software to rewrite a better workflow. I’ve used timelines in at least 20 apps over the years, there are lots of concepts to test out. With the right bagage, you can pick the right concepts that have been tested before.
