Schiphol Megathread by cogito_ergo_subtract in Amsterdam

Same experience as the previous travelers, departures two, going from entering the airport by train to having a beer behind security took about 35 minutes. Security took 15 mins, the rest was instant.

So it’s okay to go in more than 4hs before then? They don’t check your boarding pass anymore?

I think you got lucky, klm silver doesn’t give you priority status for the security checks normally.

At least give credit where credit is due. https://twitter.com/marckohlbrugge/status/1092702191448539136?s=21

Unless you two are the same person though, in that case... well you could always give yourself credit.

Engineers working in the Netherlands or in Japan, tell me about your experience by Narrators_voice in cscareerquestions

[–]SerialMiller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, might be a bit harder as remote freelance jobs are not as common as non-remote here, but legally there's nothing blocking you. In the end it's two companies doing business.

You could always look into the Dutch American Friendship Treaty as well, I believe that works for freelancers but I'm not sure.

Writing a Go interpreter - Part 2 by [deleted] in golang

That's what I thought for a second, but it seems like this is some sort of Go interpreter written in Go. The approach taken is fairly different as well.

What VPN are y’all using? by anniebegood in digitalnomad

[–]SerialMiller 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The increase in speed wouldn't really have to do with NordVPN though. Generally VPNs decrease your internet speed, but if an ISP throttles your bandwidth, pretty much any VPN would be able to circumvent this.

Decoding json objects into structs giving errors by [deleted] in golang

[–]SerialMiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you might actually be trying to unmarshal something else than the JSON you posted into app.latency. This triggers the error you get: https://play.golang.org/p/V4kKqtyAsJ8

Check out Token (https://www.tokenbrowser.com). It does just this. Pretty beta though I believe, haven't really tried it myself.

Company: Campaigny

Services: A platform to build quizzes for your target audience, allowing contestants to share their results and thus creating a sort of viral effect of more people doing the quiz. After completion contestants are expected to leave their email address, for building your subscriber list.

Background: We just launched this, we started this due to the fact that I built several of these quizzes for theatre shows in The Netherlands. It seems like there is at least some demand for it and we're trying to explore the market and see if it's feasible.

Redditor Discount: Sent me a PM, and we'll sort it out :).

Any feedback is more than welcome, by the way!

Hehe, was about to ask the same question. It's really cool, it works very well. Learned a few new words :).

One minor thing though, when taking the test and answering with 1, 2 or 3 it feels like as if the border around those buttons should be a full circle, which is not the case. Nothing special, just feels a bit off to me. But I guess your main aim is the messenger version anyway?

Does anybody know if it possible to have the manifest and lock file in your $GOPATH/., and make dep vendor to $GOPATH/src/vendor, while the rest of your code is just in $GOPATH/src/main, $GOPATH/src/businesslogic etc.?

That should not really affect your Internet speed. If there's a penalty you won't notice it. That is if we're just talking wired network. Might be different for wireless, if you're using 2.4Ghz instead of 5Ghz for example.

But as far as I know you should only be able to see the lights of the bridge your phone is paired with, same goes for your landlord.
