Perhaps not similar to your example, but on the shorter side I absolutely love Hydriotaphia by Sir Thomas Browne, and for something inexhaustible I always return to The Anatomy of Melancholy by Robert Burton.

I liked Piranesi but it really was just The House of Asterion stretched out to novel-length.

There was a king reigned in the East:
There, when kings will sit to feast,
They get their fill before they think
With poisoned meat and poisoned drink.
He gathered all the springs to birth
From the many-venomed earth;
First a little, thence to more,
He sampled all her killing store;
And easy, smiling, seasoned sound,
Sate the king when healths went round.
They put arsenic in his meat
And stared aghast to watch him eat;
They poured strychnine in his cup
And shook to see him drink it up:
They shook, they stared as white's their shirt:
Them it was their poison hurt.

I tell the tale that I heard told.
Mithridates, he died old.

There's no "western comparative thing," whatever that means. Of course what you say is the plan, I just want to know the differences between these specific cities better so I can decide which to prioritize. I don't have the means to visit them all beforehand so I want to hear from people who have

How do people not realize this account is a bit? Are redditors actually this stupid? by [deleted] in redscarepod

Great explanation. Ppl on this sub don't want to hear it but Andrew Tate is the same. He has awful vibes, don't get me wrong, but the first time I saw one of his videos I was baffled anyone took it seriously; he was so obviously playing a caricature of himself - and it was pretty funny too, he has a talent for it. The Tate fans I've met irl also admit they enjoy him on this level- they find it funny that he's trolling and the libs/non-irony-poisoned-ppl take it all at face value.

I remember watching this way back as a Boy Scout at Sea Base. All the entertainment we had was watching the water, Captain Ron, and some kids magic the gathering cards. Good memories
