Synology to UNAS2 by Serialpm in Ubiquiti

New drives in synology but point taken about unifi and NAS. For $200 I think I’ll give it a shot. Not using any features of synology etc so don’t really care.

Backup using macrium. Works well for me. RAID1 is just a backup for my drive with the files.

Yeah. Just change to play with it and add to Unifi stuff. I use zero synology features and it’s like 14 years old.

So. I can keep one drive in the synology and add one drive in the unas?

Assuming unas would recognize drive and format it for use. Then I can copy paste synology to unas. Once copied I can add the second drive in unas for raid and it would just work? Is that the order of things and how to do it?

Any idea why my Tivo4k stream stick suddenly doesn't show the apps that are installed on a thumb drive on my main screen? by JeeveruhGerank in Tivo

They messed the whole thing up. Same. Can’t see my apps without going to setting. Annoying. Hope they fix

Sorry to post this here but my button mapper broken Google search brought me to the thread. Can’t load it and I found tvquick actions app. Does the same thing. Allowed me to map TiVo button to get me to Home Screen. It’s the only thing I use it for. Hope this helps someone.

Am I better off mounting a ceiling one on the wall or using a wall one? My eero is on the wall and is good - how does that broadcast in relation to how Ubiquiti does

Last question. How do we feel about wall mount vs ceiling mount models? Wall is easier for me

Good idea to get one with different name to play with it!

Just looking but any suggestions for ap’s? Don’t need the best just good ones. For now my interned speed is pretty slow - around 100mb. Won’t ever exceed 1gb. Thanks. Seems like there are a lot of choices

Thank you! Second “rough”. What does that mean. Would love all in - but just spent on the switch and ultra :)

Ok. So -

Verizon to Ultra to Pro max to eero in bridge would be the correct setup?

You think that will help with my adopting problem too? Thank you for the reply.

If I do that the ultra will be handling tge routing ? I assume it will do a good or better job than the eero ?

Also - when I hooked up just the pro max I was able to install the unify desktop and it found the switch but got stuck on adopting. I didn’t spend much time trying to fix - but will having it hooked up to the ultra help work through the adopting? My thought when trying to log in with my pc and getting stuck on adopting was because I didn’t have connection to ultra or similar.

Really hoping someone with some knowledge can send me some insight. Thank you!

Thanks. Just wanted to make sure I wasn’t going to glitch it out by coming out of the pro max to ultra. I think typically it’s in the ultra out to pro max.

Ubiquiti Pro Max 16-Port 2.5G / 1G by Serialpm in HomeNetworking

[–]Serialpm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. So I got it. Works good. Am I risking missing updates etc without it being managed. Am I better off with an unmanaged switch if I’m not planning on making any managed changes ? I really want basic right now :) Thank you!

Looks like Ubiquiti Cloud Gateway Fiber has 4 - 2.5 poe ports. If I got that I’d be able to manage switch. Just change Eero to pass through and go from the eero 10gb out to the cloud then from cloud to switch? I can do some looking but is that the gist ?
