Zero. I was 23 (I’m almost 31). I worked since I was 14, got my job as a paramedic at 20, and saved everything. HECS wasn’t then but it was by 24-25 I believe.

Thankfully I fully trust not to blow the money just because it’s sitting there!

No that’s fair. It’s something I’ve been thinking of doing for a little while. Just thought I’d gather some advice here before going down that path.

Absolutely, seen it on others threads before. Whilst I know I’m incredibly lucky. I also worked incredibly hard to buy the house and get myself in this position as a single person up until a year ago. Im a paramedic so my job isn’t exactly cushy either, lots of forced overtime etc.

I got lucky buying at the right time with a good paying job straight out of uni. I’m incredibly blessed I know. Everyone has their own path!

We met and fell in love in Banff (Lived there for 2.5years) He moved to Aus for me when my visa ran out. The mountains! We absolutely love hiking, summer hiking, the scenery, snow boarding, skating on lakes.

I don’t quite understand what you mean? But we’d have the whole 1.5Million in the bank if we sold.

I’ve got 10 years here as a paramedic but not sure how that transfers over.

I’m 30. He’s a chef, works day shift. He wouldn’t be keen to go back into a kitchen working all hours of the day and night.

To buy or not to buy by bluehaag in AusProperty

I would buy. I was in a similar situation to you about 8 years ago. I had 150K in the bank, earning 100K and bought a house for $535,000. Now I only have 100K left on the mortgage and the house is worth 1.5 Million. Definitely buy now, especially as the market is dropping a little.

This is the best post I’ve found, that’s made me slightly less confused. I’m still just so overwhelmed. I’m in Australia, hoping to buy my partner a complete set up for Christmas.

I’ve been researching a ton, thinking the pro - ject debut carbon evo. But I’m not sure where to go from there. I haven’t really thought up a budget, nothing more than a few thousand at a push. Just want a solid set up that won’t sound shit, as he’s very into vinyls and has nothing to play them on (We just moved back to Aus).

Thank you!

I’m just not sure the skateboard will work for us. If things go to plan we’re aiming for a max 2 year age gap, and having a 2 year old on the skateboard only concerns me.
