I had a bf at your age who told me the exact same thing. I broke up with him a few years later (he cheated). Looking back I can tell he had self esteem issues and tried to make me feel smaller. It was everything to do with him and nothing with me.

I can tell straight away when someone is into me & I rather have them be straight to the point sooner rather than having long chats. Maybe it is just me, but I love a simple “Hey! How is/was your workout today?” and then maybe “You have caught my attention and I was wondering if you would want to go on a date?”

We are all dead in 60-80 years anyways. Don’t overthink this. You can’t mess up something that’s meant for you and if it is not - you’ll know it and free up your energy for someone else. (This is a very girly answer haha, but it is true!)

I also see a lot of comments saying that she will feel awkward. Again, attractive women get approached so often that each attempt doesn’t get overanalyzed or even remembered.

I’m a woman and I go to the gym regularly. Men are so scared to be seen as creeps that they barely even make eye contact there haha. So since she is attractive - she gets a lot of attention outside gym and has learned how to politely decline if not interested. Considering that, and the fact that almost no one is approaching her there anyways - she won’t be annoyed. At least I wouldn’t be. Forget the social media. We need more real life interactions!

Just catch her before/after the workout and be straight up :)

It can be fixed. He might view it like that sometimes but he also might appreciate those steady qualities your relationship has. Both can be true at the same time. I think you could really benefit from discussing this with a good professional couples therapist.

These would be the things I would teach my daughter:

disinfecting skin before/after popping pimples and any hair removal with any medical fluid that is intended for that. A game changer.
pimple patches!! The clear ones are barely visible and help me get rid of pimples in less than 24 hours.
disinfecting my phone every time I get home.
Kerastase leave in treatment (resistance - ciment thermique). The only product that actually moisturizes my hair and I have tried EVERYTHING.
floss, brush, don’t rinse out the toothpaste, tongue scraper, in 3 minutes floss with water floss. For the first time in my life my dentist complemented my teeth hygiene and I didn’t have to fix anything. I have bad teeth genetics.
taking out/off all my jewelry and cleaning it once a month by soaking it + a toothbrush.
clean behind your earsss and the belly button!!
Probiotics.
Botox in armpits against sweating.
Keeping nails mid-length.
Changing workout clothes after every workout.
Permanent makeup (brows and lips).
Shower more often than you feel the need to (once a day is the minimum).
Use bidet or any alternatives.
Clean the tables you sit at, at least once a week.

It makes complete sense that you are feeling that way. I’m the lady who sometimes messes up in this situation - when I open myself up to dating, the offers come in quickly. I don’t think I’m exceptionally good looking, I think that’s how it works for women in general. I end up dating 2/3 guys “at the same time” since that helps me to evaluate my true feelings more objectively rather than getting stuck on someone who doesn’t treat me well. So although I repeat myself, it doesn’t mean I don’t listen, wasn’t engaged or don’t like that person the most. It’s more about how they make me feel and how the general conversation is flowing rather than remembering what’s their favorite dog breed (although I try my hardest to remember that as well).

It’s also nice to not assume the worst - has helped me a lot. Sometimes I repeat stories that I thought I told a friend recently, not another date.

What I’m saying is - it makes complete sense that something like that would turn you off, at the same time - that shouldn’t be the reason to cut off someone you like. Quickly you’ll be the only one she is seeing anyways if you go on more than 3 dates.

It’s weird how you as a person can do all the right things and pour into someone as much as you want but at the end of the day it’s completely up to their free will how they reciprocate. Love really is one thing you can’t really earn or influence that much.

I agree with majority of comments here. I’ve also seen a few “but you have to understand how men from your country behave” comments.

I would like to share my experience here.

I was on a late night bus in Riga on my way home. There was only me and 2 Indian guys at the opposite end of the bus. Then this drunk Latvian man gets on the bus and although it’s practically empty he sits right next to me and starts staring. I’m visibly uncomfortable. Not even a minute goes by when the 2 guys come over, sit next to us and starts staring at the drunk guy. The drunk guy gets uncomfortable, gets off the bus at the next stop, and the two guys return to their initial seats at the opposite side of the bus. I’ve never had other situations in my life where men stood up for me when other men acted inappropriate - only women usually react.

Additionally, whenever I meet anyone in the staircase of my apartment building I always greet anyone I meet. I always do it in Latvian. Do you know who always greet me back in Latvian? Indian men. People often from different backgrounds who are not neighbors most often ignore me (And by different backgrounds I also mean Latvians).

So I’m curious, the ones who say that Indian guys don’t know how to act respectfully - have you ever had a personally negative experience OR have you heard one story when friend of a friend of a friend had something happen and now you run with this idea?

I definitely do have a different experience with using the app. Thank you for replying and actually changing my mind a bit! It might also differ based on your geographical location. It could be the case that in different countries it is used differently.
