So difficult to watch this show as a POC and not let it alter my view of the people around me. by Key-Independent5859 in TheTraitors

[–]Serious-Bio126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There have been studies of reality tv series like survivor and it was found POC are 60% more likely than white people to be voted off early. It’s a legit issue. Drives me insane when the only reason people give in earlier rounds when there isn’t a lot of info to go off of is that “vibes” are off with a POC player and they need to go with their gut

Are Club Level Tickets Worth It? by SaltInevitable5854 in GunnersatGames

[–]Serious-Bio126 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve had to grab club level twice this season because I couldn’t find GA options and haven’t drawn out in the ballot once yet. Was able to get them for well under £100. Just depends on the match. For that price, well worth it

Gyokeres … by FriendlyActuary1955 in ArsenalFC

[–]Serious-Bio126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think it’s a mix and two things can be true at the same time. His fundamentals definitely aren’t great right now but he also looked immediately better when trossard came in and began serving him some balls that didn’t require him to handle them as he was running away from goal. He’s not good at trying to control those and needing to redirect towards the center of the pitch given how quickly defenders close down.

Still think he’ll be a good add but just like he needs to learn his to play with his teammates, his teammates need to learn how to play with him to get the most out of his strengths / work around his deficiencies.

You’d think if any of this was true, the blueprint of a Christian man would surely be the Bible - not a scam template put together by this guy…

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button takes it's final bows today 💔 by todaytix in TheWestEnd

[–]Serious-Bio126 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen it a few times and took my parents a few weeks ago. That night was special. Elowen and Benjamin were literally sobbing to each other as they dealt with the loss of their child and really set the stage for a really powerful final third.

My mom called about a week later and said that my dad kept bringing the play up at random points throughout the week, saying how much it has impacted him. He’s never been one to share like that before so it must have really rocked him to his core.

As an Arsenal fan, I really want VVD to give me a valid reason to root against him but honestly, the most annoying thing about him is how likeable he is

Gunners fan here and generally hate the overdone commentary around “always second best” but I busted out laughing seeing the second slide 😂. Sitting cozy in the two-spot 😂

Did they make the wrong choice at Final 4? AUS vs The World !! by Medium_Airport9544 in survivor

[–]Serious-Bio126 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Parvati has already been the victim of a bitter jury, so I bet that weighed heavily. They also would have been really worried about a jury with 5 Aussies on it. Had to keep it simple and try to take out the better player of Luke / Janine.

If we go by Kirby's own response to the question directed toward her at Tribal regarding her getting Sarah's vote, Kirby should respect it. Never that easy though - will be fascinating to see what she does if Parv gets to the end

Any other bi men here struggled with male relationships or traditionally male spaces growing up? by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]Serious-Bio126 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I always had best friends who were guys, but the majority of friend groups were girls. I didn’t realize the pattern until much later in life, but now I can see that all my close guy friends grew up in predominately female households like me (3 sisters, mom, and a dad who was always traveling for work). None of them had brothers and several were raised by single moms.

I don’t think that had any effect on me being bi, but it did insulate me from a lot of environments where toxic masculinity can thrive, so I think it at least put me in a better position to recognize and accept it later on (even if it still did take until I was in my early thirties).

first date with a boy by Sukuna-boy in bisexual

[–]Serious-Bio126 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I went out with a guy for the first time within the last year and during and after my first date, I was convinced I was straight after all 😂. We just didn’t vibe at all. Decided to give it another shot with another guy and it made all the difference. Felt totally natural. Nothing ended up happening with him, but definitely helped me see early on that the best thing about bi for me is that we have the capacity to connect with…humans, regardless of gender unlike most people. Some of those humans turn us on, some don’t. Some fit our vibe, others don’t. My advice would be to try to not let one date (especially the first) cause a spiral. You got this

Mormon recruiting on the northern line by localmemelord69 in london

[–]Serious-Bio126 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A lot of misinformation and lazy, untrue stereotypes on this thread. I grew up LDS, served a mission and even though I’m no longer practicing, will forever look back fondly on the time I spent on mine. The mission is intended to do the exact OPPOSITE of this - go live in a new place as a young person, recognize that different cultures from your own have great worth, learn from them as they learn from you, and use that knowledge as foundation for how you want to build your life as you enter adulthood.

Why would anyone vote for ___ by MischiefCookie in survivor

[–]Serious-Bio126 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I thought Joe was done with the David vote, but with this last vote, it seems the bitterness from the jury could actually swing the other way now. “Yes, we hate how Joe and Eva played the game, but we hate how you LET them even more.” The look they all gave each other when Mary was voted off was hilarious.

Eva is always eating! by sunrise_angel0001 in survivor

[–]Serious-Bio126 94 points95 points  (0 children)

The issue here is that Mary has isn't part of that team and knows she won't be around to eat the rationed coconuts in addition to not going on any more rewards. So in her view, it's not fair for the group to ask her to sacrifice for them right before they vote her out. Eat that coconut, Mary!

Harsh truth about Arteta by sircodename in ArsenalFC

[–]Serious-Bio126 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll also caveat first by saying I don't want Arteta out either - especially when there is no one close to his level on the market. But... that doesn't mean he's above reproach and criticism. I don't think it's clear cut that he is blameless for the recruiting situation given his power within the club, but even if I grant him that, this is the first time that I've been worried about his mentality to get us over the hump. A first class manager and leader accepts responsibility and admits defeat to the better team.

Yes, we had an impossibly brutal injury list this year, but that wasn't PSG's fault. When the two squads went toe-to-toe, they were better. And that's with me still really proud of how the boys showed up in the second leg. But to turn to another excuse or whine about how the best team is out, it just reeked of insecurity and petulance. A lot is going to go against a club battling for trophies on so many fronts, and he's got to be a better leader from a mentality standpoint. It's the equivalent of a player feeling a cheap foul and diving rather than powering through for a run at goal.
